  1. Do you think I should?? I've tried pretty much everything else and my self esteem is extremely low
  2. Has anyone here successfully come off BP? What was it like?
  3. It's been almost a month and half since I re-started The Regimen. Dan's instructions were too fast for my skin's tolerance the first time so I stopped completely, started again in the middle of November, and worked my way up VERY slowly. I'm currently using between half and a 3/4 pump of BP morning and night- I kind of just eyeball it on my finger and it's been working fine. My skin isn't irritated, red, or hot at all anymore but I'm still flaking on the apples of my cheeks and around my mouth
  4. I've been using Quinoderm 10 for around 2 weeks and it is helping with my acne, but my face has changed colour all over. It is darker, and orange/red tinted. I want to know if anyone else has experienced this, if it is transient (if so, how long?), whether I should calm down with the twice a day use of 10% strength or just carry on until my skin gets used to it? THANK YOUU!!
  5. I foolishly tried to remove a facial skin blemish using benzoyl peroxide which was perscribed for me for resistant acne, instead of discolouring the blemish it discoloured the surrounding skin from pinkish red to to pale white, does anyone have any experience in this field? ideally id like the skin colour to return to what it was , the blemish isnt the problem it once was.
  6. Hello all. I have been struggling with acne since I was in 8th grade. It just isn't fair how some people have perfect skin and they don't do anything. I have been on practically everything. Usually I am in a cycle and it ranges from clear, beautiful skin to breaking out a lot. Since For as long as I can remember, I have been on Oracea in the morning paired with Duac(Benzoyl Peroxide and Clindamycin) and at night I take Ortho-Cyclen and Retin-a .04%. I use Cetaphil Moisturizer and Cleanser, and
  7. I need some help. So I had been clear for a long time(over a year) on the following regimen: Am: cetaphil normal-oily skin cleanser Duac Cetaphil moisturizer Oracea Pm: cetaphil cleanser again Retin a micro .04 Cetaphil moisturizer Ortho tri cyclen Then, I started getting occasional cysts on my chin, so I went to ortho cyclen. This cleared me up completely for two months. I stopped taking oracea, and my skin went downhill quickly. I started getting lots of little pimples al
  8. I've been on the regimen for a little over a month. I'm very careful to avoid my eye area when applying the benzoyl peroxide gel. I've noticed that my eyes tend to water like crazy. I don't know if it's the fumes or something. How can I reduce the stinging of my eyes while applying BP?
  9. I'm new to the Regimen, I'm on my third week and my face is burning and bright red. It feels kind of tight, but it seems like the moisturizer is keeping my face soft. I think that these side effects should go away soon, but do you think my face will stay red? When I was on Retin-A, I had such a red face, and after I stopped using it, the redness subsided. Do you think that while I use the BP my face will stay red, like it used to?
  10. I've been using the Acne.org Regimen for 3 days now, and I just noticed that it was instructed to use the BP only once a day for the first week. I haven't had any extreme dryness/redness so far, but should I tone it down to once a day or just continue with twice a day until the second week?
  11. It's been a few days short of a month since I started the regimen and my skin is *STILL* flaking- predominantly around my mouth & eyebrow area. And if I don't have a crap ton of moisturizer on (i.e. sometimes I roll around too much when I sleep and I tend to transfer most of it off onto my pillow, leaving my face dry in the morning) my skin then ends up looking leather-like in the flakey areas. I'm pretty much used to the BP at this point - no burning or itching, just still a slightly fl
  12. Ok so I have been prescribed a tretinoin and antibiotics by my derm, and my question is can I use a Benzoyl peroxide face wash? And if so which product do you recommend?
  13. Hi guys. I used to use BP a year or so ago when i had really bad acne which helped clear it up, but now i basically just have red marks to deal with. I was using salysilic acid products but switched to OXY (the oxy products without bp). But i was wondering if i started using BP again if id help with red marks or not? Please help thanks.
  14. Hey everyone, I'm kinda new here so wasn't sure where to post this. I used BP for a few weeks a while ago but I stopped because it made my skin so horribly dry and red and raw, and now a few months later I'm suffering from dry patches in the areas I applied it. It's not flaking or anything but when I put on foundation you can definitely see it. I'm currently taking erythromycin which is what I used to get rid of my mild acne and I haven't broken out since I was on it but I have to keep t
  15. I just ordered Dan's BP a few days ago as I plan on using Cetaphil and CeraVe (and sublock in the AM) in place of his cleanser and moisturizer. After seeing some people's issues with their faces turning darker, now I'm really worried! I always thought BP was originally marketed many years ago as a bleaching agent (I mean it definitely does a good job at bleaching my hair line!) before the discovery of its uses for treating acne, so I'm curious as to why this is happening to some of you guys. I a
  16. I've been using acne.org's BP for a couple of years and this is the firs time I'm experiencing irritation above my eyelids. It gets puffy and dry. Anyone else having this problem? I don't apply BP on my eyelids at all but I'm wondering why I'm getting a reaction now and what I should do to prevent it. Or should I stop using it?
  17. Does anyone know where you can get BP gel in the UK? The only thing i have found anywhere is Quinoderm 10 cream which is far too drying for me. Everywhere i have read online 2.5% seems to be discontinued, unavailable or fake which is a nightmare. Just seeing if there was a cheaper option before i order the acne.org when i get paid.x
  18. Hi guys, I was just wondering, is Benzoyl Peroxide stronger when its from a new bottle? I dont use Dan's products, im using Galderma's Benzac 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide. Im on maybe just above the 2 month mark, and i just got tolerance to it a couple of weeks ago. Today i finished a bottle/tube of Benzac, and i just opened a new one except now within 15 minutes of application my face burns and is pretty red in places. Im not sure if its just me and just to not worry about it, but would
  19. Hello all! So I'm about 3 months into the regimen, and currently it's kind of bittersweet... my skin is CLEAR, like haven't really had a serious pimple in weeks.. and I even managed to reduce treatment to once daily and maintain the same results. The issue is I'm still experiencing REDNESS like terribly bad.. I look like a lobster that went tanning wearing sunglasses.. its embarrassing because the skin around my eyes and my neck are pale white.. whilst the rest of my face looks like I just
  20. I'm 21 and I think it's been almost 8 years since I've left the house without make-up. My acne started when I was 13. I actually remember being the only girl in my year who wore foundation. How embarrassing is that? Later in high school more girls wore foundation, but there was a year or two where I was the only one. There was even a time where a teacher tried to make me to go the bathroom to wash off my foundation (I only wore foundation and powder for oiliness, no mascara etc.) because
  21. Started "The Regimen" and while I waited for my 2.5% to come in the mail, I used a TINY bit of my old 10% that i had used previously. Around 6 months ago before doing the regimen, I used BP in my daily face wash routine and would use the 10% and one day had a reaction that was little more red and felt like sunburn and I stopped using it. It was probably just because I used too much at such a high percentage. So, now, I used this 10% (VERY small amounts) twice for two days and then I ex
  22. Hi members of acne.org, I'm hoping someone can help me with some confusion regarding the BP/Moisturizer. After thinking and some experimentation, I've started to wonder what effect the moisturizer has on the BP. Surely the moisturizer chemicals will react with the BP chemicals. I've been doing the regimen every night for about a week now, only cleansing and moisturizing in the morning. I've noticed that most of the 'redness' and 'burning' often reported occurs for me as soon as I put on t
  23. I hope I am posting this in an okay location. I'm 26 years old and have noticed my acne and face has changed from oily to combination. I've recently (within the past 3-4 weeks) changed my skin care regimin to something more gentle. I was using St. Ives Sensitive Scrub but have come to the conclusion that it was exacerbating my acne. So I have switched to using Neutrogena Extra Gentle Cleanser day and night. After I cleanse, I use Dickinson's Witch Hazel Toner. Using these two products together,
  24. Ordered the kit this past week and hope to get it in the mail this week! I've read over everything but there's only one thing I'm confused about. Since this will be my first time using any of these products, should I use the BP all over my face or just do it in problem areas or vice versa (start with problem areas, do whole face after a couple weeks) to start out with?
  25. So about 3 weeks ago, my doctor had me start using benzoyl peroxide cream and tretinoin cream. In the morning, I was told to wash my face with cetaphil cleanser and apply benzoyl peroxide to my entire face. In the night, I was told to use a neutrogena cleanser and apply tretinoin to my face. My forehead and nose are normally very oily while my cheeks and my chin are normal. Most of my acne is on my forehead (not too severe) while my cheeks are mild and my jawline is moderate. I followed the reg
