  1. Has anyone successfully quit Proactiv or another product that contains benzoyl peroxide WITHOUT breaking out badly? I'm 24 and I've been using Proactiv since I was 14. I feel my skin is no longer as acne prone as it was when I was a teen, but my skin seems to be addicted to it, specifically the benzoyl peroxide. I tried to quit Proactiv when I was 17. I was warned that many users suffer major breakouts when they first quit, so I stopped using it. Well, I broke out...HORRIBLY. For months. It
  2. hello, so I've been using the regimen on my face and body for 3 and half weeks. I know that skin peeling off is normal but I don't think that what im dealing with is normal.. I think I burned myself with BP! because the skin peeling off looks exactly like when you get burnt (you know the dark spots) here's some pictures. please tell me how to get rid of the burns without scarring because i once burned myself with a shaving cream chemical thingy and it scarred! thank youuu
  3. Is it safe to use acne.org's glycolic acid and clindoxyl gel ( which is 1%Clindamycin, 5% Benzoyl Peroxide) together? I know that they say that it's best to use both acne.org's glycolic acid and benzoyl peroxide as a spot treatment for acne, so does that mean it would have the same effect with using clindoxyl gel since it contains 5% benzoyl peroxide or would it have a certain type of reaction because of the clindamycin?
  4. So ive been working on BP 2.5% on my clogged pores and its working well so far. When i procceeded to buy another tube, theres no stock on BP 2.5% Can i switch up to BP 5%? I currently have no side effects on BP 2.5%.
  5. Can I use Glycolic Acid and Benzoyl Peroxide together? If so, what is the best way to do it? Right now I only use benzoyl peroxide each night and it has helped a lot, but I have hyperpigmentation and want to get rid of it, so I was thinking glycolic acid can help.
  6. I started using PanOxyl gel (10%) 3 days ago and so far it's pretty much fine. When I put the gel on it burns a little and continues burning for a few hours but eventually stops, my whole face gets really red but that also stops eventually and my skin feels really tight and dry (moisturizer helps). On day one it just barely had a burning sensation but I've noticed it gets worse everyday. Although it doesn't really bother me that much.
  7. So I've had moderate acne for a little over a year now and finally decided to go a dermatologist after I tried LOTS of different over the counter products. My doctor prescribed me Perrigo Clindamycin Phosphate and benzoyl peroxide gel,1.2%/5%. It seems to be paying off a little after two months of use. I started off with applying it once every night, then worked my way up to at morning and night. About 75% of my acne is clear besides my main problem area, my mouth/chin area. My problem is that m
  8. I have severe hormonal acne, but it has calmed down considerably lately and now I noticing a lot of hyper-pigmentation on my cheeks and chin which closely resembles active acne. I'm currently just trying to conceal it with BB creams (which are meant to have whitening properties), but preferably I would also like to fade it properly. I've been prescribed and applying benzoyl peroxide nightly for at least 6 weeks now and it has improved the severity and inflammation of my acne, but i ordered AHA
  9. I have noticed severe reddening of my skin that has not subsided even though I have been using the benzoyl peroxide for over three weeks, I thought that my skin would have been accustomed to the BP by now. Also I have read some posts where people claimed that the benzoyl peroxide is the cause of their rosacea. Is this true?
  10. Hi, I have suffered from moderate to severe acne since I was 13 and now I'm 21. I've tried different over the counter products such as products from the Proactiv, Neutrogena, Clean and Clear and Clearasil line. In the last four years, I have been acne free (I tried once to stop using my medication and I immediatly got acne again) and I wanted to share my routine with everyone. Gender: female Age: 21 ethnicity: south asian acne type: moderate to severe; on both cheeks, chin, jaw, upper lip and f
  11. So I've finally given up with just about everything OTC, clean & clear, st ives, and plenty of other acne treatments and brands aimed at acne. Most of these things didn't work for me and some even made it worse. Then I tried the natural stuff... You know natural ingredients for face masks and washes... Still having cystic breakouts on my cheeks. So with everything I've tried I think it's time to give up or go topical... Now I have heard mixed reviews on using benzoyl peroxide and I have been
  12. I was recently prescibed Bezaclin Gel about a week ago & I was told to use a moisturizer. The moisterizer I use contains salicylic acid, & I was wondering if this is too much chemicals to be putting on my face. My face is very dry still. Also when I apply the lotion my face burns a little bit. Do I need to change the moisturizer?
  13. Hi, So a few days ago I applied too much 5% Benzoyl Peroxide to my face, when i woke up i could see where i had applied it and there was a red/pink marks all over my forehead. They didn't itch at all and were not dry or irritable they were just there, I did try and moisturise but it didnt seem to make much difference, from close up its hardly noticeable but far away you can see the outline. Is this just a general reaction? or a burn? should I leave it, or treat? And also, I was going to do a
  14. Hell y'all! I've read other forums and general advice from The Regimen's website, tips and tricks, etc., but I want to know if anyone out there is able to relate to my specific case in hopes of some beneficial advice. My skin in mainly dry/flakey along my jawline and under my chin, but as of this morning the dryness/flakey skin has progressed to my cheeks and slightly on my forehead. I'm 18 years old, and I have mild-moderate acne. I am on DAY 8 of the Regimen. - Morning: One pump of cl
  15. Hey guys, Just a question, do I put on benzoyl peroxide before or after moisturizing. Thanks so much, QuinnX
  16. Hey guys My regimen (listed below) has gotten me clear for the most part (I can handle the odd white head from stress/late-night rehearsal/alcohol) but my skin texture without makeup is really awful on my chin - where my acne has been concentrated for the most part. I only use Differin every other night or so, but I feel like it has done nothing to improve my red marks and I feel like it's turned into teeny-tiny rolling scars. It's really only evident when I smile, but my chin feels bumpy, r
  17. Hi guys, I just recently joined this site because I always find myself coming to it to read the advice. My acne first started when I was around eleven. I began getting these rough, tiny, under the skin bumps along my cheeks near my nose. They never bothered me much because I could only see them in the sunlight and in harsh lighting. Then, when I hit about 12-13, that's when the fun began. My forehead became covered in whiteheads, as well as a few along my cheeks and chin, and my back was covered
  18. I was reading posts about the few people who found success with Compound W on keloid scars but instead of salicyclic acid I was wondering if anyone ever just tried to dab some Benzoyl Peroxide on their keloid scars to see what would happen?
  19. So I've been using Dan's BP for a little over a year now. It's been the best thing for my acne that I've ever tried - but recently, after a year of clear skin, I've been experiencing minor spots and other types of minor acne. It's not that noticeable and for the most part my skin is clear, but what's disturbing is that they keep coming back. Here's the type of acne that I'm getting right now (it's different from when I first started the regimen) SPOTS: Reddish pink spots that are typically und
  20. My forehead gets these pesky little pimples all the time. So I have been applying a good layer of bp, waiting for it to absorb, then aplying another generous layer. The rest of my face can get away with just using one, but my temples and forehead are really annoying. Is it too much to apply a second layer? Could it build up and possibly block pores, or should it be okay?
  21. Hi guys! Just checking in. I haven't really been on here for a couple of days since I've been busy with work. I guess I just wanted to give a quick update on my skin and also since I have been on the regimen for a couple of months now...a quick "what I have learned" post. HERE'S WHAT I'VE LEARNED: 1. Everybodys skin is different. And the same product will react differently to different people not only because of their skin types but also because of their skin sensitivity, or where they live, o
  22. Hi So, I had clear skin since I was about 22 until three months ago (so about 5 years). For whatever reason, 3 months ago, my skin went haywire and I've had HORRIBLE acne on my jaw and the hollows of my cheeks ever since. I suspect it has something to do with the fact that: a) I went vegan around that time, eliminating the synthetic hormones in most meat and dairy products, which may have thrown my androgen balance off. b) went through brand training with Sephora which was 2 weeks of pu
  23. Hi, my dermatologist just gave me epiduo (until she can find out from my other doctor if I can have roaccutane.) She didn't really explain how to use it, all she said was that I should use it once a day... but If I use the epiduo at night can I still use acne.org 2.5% benzoyl peroxide in the morning? I'm guessing maybe not after seeing a few posts on here but that bp saved my skin I'm so scared to stop using it! I feel like I really need something twice a day because if I ever miss an applicatio
  24. I live in the UK and have always assumed you need a prescription for BP gel in any concentration, is this true? I've read about people ordering online from Amazon and other places but I don't know :s On another note, my pharmacy doesn't hold 2.5% gel any more and I read on these forums about it being discontinued, is this true for all of the UK? I ended up taking 5% gel home with the brand name Acnecide. I am a little worried it will burn my face and be really strong, does anyone have an
