  1. Hi everyone, I'm a new poster but have been lurking on here for a while About a month ago I started seeing a new dermatologist and started a new regimen to tackle my what appears to be adult, hormonal acne. I take 100 mg of spirolactone a day, ortho-tricylen, use retin-A a few times a week and use benzoyl peroxide and clindamycin each night (unless my skin is a complete dry mess). My skin has become very flaky and dry in some spots. If I use retin-a and the benzoyl/clindamycin each night I
  2. Right, so, I was perscribed a year or so ago clindamycin among some other things for facial acne, got a big tube of the gel, cleared it up, all was well. Fast forward to today, still have the gel, not expired, and I have a pretty bad bacne breakout. I'm using some 2.5% benzoyl peroxide gel on my back as it is, and I heard that using clindamycin in combination can give me better results. What I don't know is the protocol for using the stuff together with benzoyl peroxide. I know there's combin
  3. Just wondering if anyone has tried this stuff I've found that 10% works really well for me but all I've had to test out is the Clean and Clear Persa Gel. Checking to see if anyone has any feedback on Glytone. Thanks!
  4. A friend gave me Perrigo 10% benzoyl peroxide to try. I absolutely love it, but my insurance won't cover it. The over the counter products always dry white and make me look shiny. I'm trying to find a aqueous based gel like Perrigo offers that is over the counter. Any suggestions?
  5. My pharmacy has BP 5% GEL and I was wondering if this was ok to use.I know that it says to use 2.5% but will this work ok?!
  6. Okay, so I use the BP bottle for about 3 weeks and then, I have like a little over a quarter left in the bottle, but when I press the pump down it doesnt come out, I tried shaking it but nothing. Is there a smart way to take all this BP out and add it to another BP bottle??? I got 2 BP bottles now each has a quarter left.
  7. Hi, So I was prescribed Ziana, Tazorac, and Duac, and my derm said to apply the Duac in the morning, the Tazorac at night, and the Ziana... I completely forgot. Has anyone had any experience with Ziana or a regimen similar to this? In addition, I've been using a benzoyl peroxide 3.5% cleanser, and I was wondering if that would be too harsh to use with these prescriptions (haven't tried them yet). I also normally use Hope in a Jar, which apparently exfoliates.. Sorry for all the questions! T
  8. Hey everyone, i just wanted to share my acne story with you. I don't have much of a story except I've been dealing with acne on and off for most of my adult years, for the past year and a half it has been clear until my husband recently passed away and I've been really depressed, so I'm guessing that's why it's like this, after he died it got really bad and then it healed with some hyperpigmentation left behind of course, but now its just up and down so I'm hoping the Regimen will clear it up an
  9. Hi, just asking: i don't know when to moisturize. Do i have to put the cream on the dry benzoyl peroxide on my face or do i have to rinse even if the benzoyl is dry? i didnt get it. Thank you
  10. hey guyss i could believe it! bezac is actually working.. i used 5% benzoyl peroxide gel and it works gracefully.. although i do get dry skin because of it. it doesnt matter to me aslong as all the redness is gone.. i insist tht you try this product.. start with 2.5 or 5% try not to start with 10% as it drys your skin pretty bad tht your skin is not used it yet i cant emphasize on the degree of happiness im having over it right now tht i want you guys experience it too ohh
  11. I used the Regimen for the second time this morning before school. My face was itchy the whole day and I kept scratching around my eye and jaw area. I just woke up from a nap and now both my eyes are mildly swollen and a little bit of redness around my face. I'm thinking it might be the BP. Anyone else had this problem? What should I do?
  12. Anyone know if I'd get less clumping with Dan's moisturizer, or some other moisturizer? I've been using proactiv lately with 0 clumping, but I have almost a full tube of the acne.org BP
  13. I was wondering how long it takes for the drying/redness to subside when using benzoyl peroxide. I am using 2.5% strength, waiting approx. 10 minutes until it dries, and then applying some Nivea oil free moisturiser. I took this picture [link below] a few minutes ago (after using moisturiser). I started using BP 6 days ago. I have quite mild (but very persistent) chin acne. The product seems to work but the redness is almost as embarrassing as the acne! http://imageshack.us/photo/my-ima
  14. Does anyone use the Oil Cleansing Method w/ Dan's BP? If so how? Do you still use a cleanser? Which oils do you use? Has anyone tried tea tree oil for acne? Results?
  15. Hello All, I'm new here and as my username states, I'm highly confused on everything regarding acne. In a blog post by Dan, he talked about some research that suggests the p. acne bacteria might not have anything to do with causing acne. Here's the post: What causes acne? It might not be bacteria. April 19th, 2011 An article released this month in the British Journal of Dermatology took a look at the evidence scientists have boldly gathered from 1950 through 2010 regarding when a
  16. hi! so i've been using benzoyl peroxide for probably over a year now, and yea i dont actually break out anymore, I get the occasional zit that goes away after a few days. The problem is, benzoyl peroxide is really worsening my actual skin. I've developed a tolerance for it after using it for so long, but I still get very dry + flaky in the winter, and my skin is overall quite red and irritated. In addition, i have a lot of red marks on my face from old acne scarring, and the benzoyl peroxide is
  17. A little bit about the redness: I don't have it at home, only at school and public places. Although it is always red in school, it gets worse when I blush. Which for some reason I do a lot more now. The red face started a year ago when I was using Retin-A (not sure what percent). I then stopped using it after a few months and switched to 10% BP. This kept me (basically) clear, but I still had a red face, which was one of the reasons I stopped using Retin-A. I put up with it, because, hey,
  18. So for the past 3 or 4 years I've been using the DKR Benzoyl Peroxide, and at first it did help in clearing up my acne, but for the past 2 years or so it hasn't really done much at all, but I'm still continuing to apply it every night just in case it is possibly helping to somewhat get rid of current acne and/or prevent future acne. I'm also taking Doxycycline (Which pretty much lost effectiveness a few months ago, but I'm still taking it just in case it is still somewhat working). I'm pretty
  19. hi all......i just want 2 have an advise on which treatment i should go for my acne....i used 2 have white heads, black heads, papules, pustules, cysts and so on...i have back and chest acne too.....my face is very oily also......i think mine is hormonal acne....when i researched about hormonal acne in net, i found that the main symptoms of acne due to increased androgen hormone levels are: excessively oily skin, acne mainly in jaw line and chin, increased hair growth in face and other body part
  20. I have two questions about CP. You can skip over the little anecdote I've provided in italics. I have been using Clindamycin Phospate topical lotion now for over 3 months now. My skin has been consistently moderate. Sometimes it clears up well for several days. Sometimes it gets a little worse than moderate. How I've been using it has also been consistent for quite some time now: Morning: -PanOxyl 10% BP facewash -Apply Clindamycin Phospate to clean, dry skin -wait several
  21. Ok. Here goes a little background. I am 22yo, have acne since 15. In the beggining it was only around my mouth, no big deal, sometimes i was clear, sometimes i had few acne. Then, in my 17 it spread on my cheeks, and in my 18 first big cyst showed up. From the begining forehead was usually fine, even now. I didnt do nothing special to prevent acne until i was 19yo. I decided to visit dermatologist, he prescribed me antibiotics for few months, azelaic acid and soap. After first month my face real
  22. Hi all, The Acne.org products have really been a miracle for me. I was almost completely clear after the first set and ordered a second. But before the second even arrived, I started developing a weird allergic reaction or something to the products. I only use the products on my face, but it caused my eyelids and neck to start itching a lot. Then the skin would burn for a couple of days, and then become really dry and really flaky. This also happens on small patches of my arm and once even on
  23. Recently my skin has gone from severe acne to light (only a few pimples per month). I just ordered Dan's bp, and I was wondering if my skin would go back to its original, horrid state if i stop using it? Also, will bp make my hyperpigmentation (from acne) worse or better?
  24. So I got some samples of Triaz 3% BP Facial Wipes from the dermatologist. It says to use, wet cloth and work into a lather, then apply to face. The one thing that really concerns me about BP is the bleaching effect, especially on hair/eyebrows. Has anyone had experience with this effect or this product? Also, how do I "work into a lather"? Just with my fingers? Also, some products do really dry out my skin, so I decided I should probably cut the wipes and use them only every other day to start.
  25. Hi guys, time for me to reorder BP. Been using it since Dan began the regimen. I can't buy JUST the BP separately now?? I've never liked the cleanser or moisturizer, but the BP is amazing.
