  1. I have recently switched insurances due to a new job and was very upset to hear that my new insurance covers none of my current acne medications. I struggled with acne for years even though I was seeing a dermatologist before finding a routine that actually worked. I believe the most effective medicine I use is benzaclin. In the past dr's have tried to switch me to something more "mild" because it does irritate my skin some in the winter and I was not actively breaking out anymore, but eve
  2. This was the only product that I used that worked for my mild acne. They discontinued it for some reason, they had this little bottle of face wash scrub that had 2 percent salicylic acid and lots of sand like grains for exfoliation, that wash was the best face wash I ever used because the SA helped remove the dry skin and the exfoliant was strong enough to remove the dead skin leaving my skin fresh. The lotion had a small amount of Benzoyl peroxide. I tried to find the stuff again and they st
  3. Im doing a 3 part acne program that I have found online from a person who has studied acne over the years. For the 3rd step for mild-moderate acne he reccommends a topical 5% benzoyl peroxide cream. For more severe acne he reccommends using Epiduo (Tactuo) which is a prescription topical cream that contains 0.1% Adapalene and 2.5% benzoyl peroxide. Unfortunately I have not seen a dermatologist in over a year and an appointment can take months to get. On hand I have benzoyl peroxide 5% and
  4. I always read on here that medicated cleansers are often ineffective due to the active ingredient not being on your skin long enough to make a difference, but I've noticed improvement using a Benzoyl Peroxide wash every morning. So I'm just wondering how it works since it's true that it doesn't stay on your skin that long.
  5. Hi, I've been on the Regimen for the past 2 months and recently switched to Dan's BP about a month ago. Everything's been going great when it comes to my acne, but a few weeks ago I noticed my eyes were being affected. I know there's other posts about the dryness, (which I also have) so I'll take the different advice for that. What I'd like to know is if the BP burns the eyes of anyone else who uses it. I do not put the BP on my eyes or around my eyes. However, whenever i'm applying it, there i
  6. I just use a cleanser and moisturizer and have very mild acne, but occasionsally I get a breakout or some particularly stubborn pimples. I was wondering will BP be effective on that? I bought the travel size and was intending to use it for that reason.
  7. My dermatologist told me to put on benzoyl peroxide on my face 10 minutes before showering. So, I have been for the past couple of days. But, when I wash it off, my face is as red as a tomato. It goes away and doesn't seem to bother me too much... but is that bad for my skin? Is it hurting more than helping? On a tangent, he also has me putting on Tazorac right before bed every night, and despite both, my skin is not peeling or overly bothered. I'm just curious about the bright red my face
  8. Hi u guys! I just started to use Dans auto-kit from yesterday. It works good. But i noticed that when i finished apply BP in my face, some area(acne area) can ooze few liquid things, just like BP can eject some bad things from my acne?? ........ I really don't know is that okay for me to continue use BP. Plus, when i woke up, i can see those liquid things was already dry, and they became to some yellow crust, which is really sticky, some stick with my hair. Can someone help me what is that plz?
  9. So I'm waiting on a shipment of Dan's BP and I've been out of my old bottle for quite some time now... or so I thought... I had a an idea. I took my handy knife and cut the thing open from top to bottom and opened it up. It was a GOLD MINE. It was like Christmas. SO much BP I felt like giving some away! I'm sure I'm not the only one who has done this but I haven't seen anything regarding it so I thought I might as well post about it! Cheers. ~ Erik
  10. Today I bought Neutrogen Clear Pore scrub with 3.7% Benzoyl Peroxide, after two months of using Salicylic Acid in it with hardly any results except it helping close my pores (it had toner in it). Well I was wondering, will usind the scrub I bought today mess up my face, because I heard using scrubs daily can make your skin red? Then because it has a scrub in it does that make it a cleanser too? And because it is a scrub/ maybe cleanser do I still need to cleanse before using the scrub with BP i
  11. I need people to recommend the best products of the following: Cleanser's Body wash benzoyl peroxide Scars cream's or something good for scars Acne cream's Please let me know what the best product of the above work for you. K, Thanks
  12. I used to just buy the 16 oz BP but now I don't see that option...do I have to buy the full set now??
  13. I'm fourteen and I've been suffering from Acne for about 2 years. I have tried literally everything except roaccutane, which I'm not allowed to be put on because of my depression. I'm getting fed up with having horrible skin. I have extremely low confidence and self esteem, I even had to give up wearing foundation and trying tinted moisturizer and my skin still seems to be dry. It almost seems as if now the only way to fix all my problems is if my skin has cleared up. I'm on Levlen ED right now
  14. Hello everyone! I recently started using Paula's Choice BHA Liquid 2% and I am going through a purging stage (Hopefully that's what it is) I realized that I got three pimples places where i never break out and little hard white heads (?) that are ready to come out. I only use BHA every three days and i plan to increase when the breakouts calm down a little. I want to know if you have used BHA before how long the purging process took and if any of you guys were able to stop using Be
  15. Sorry for starting another topic whenever I already have one, but this is a separate problem, that I didn't see exactly addressed anywhere else. I started the regimen about four days ago. Today however, after I got through with the moisturizer, it started burning. It burned pretty bad for about ten minutes, and then it subsided. But not long after that the burning started again, and it hasn't stopped. This was at around eight. It's been about ten hours since applied the bp and moisturizer.
  16. Hey, So I am really confused. My doctor prescribed me Erythromycin gel and 5% benzoyl peroxide gel. I usually only wear my treatments at night. Am I supposed to layer one on top of the other? Also do you moisturize on top of the gels? I guess I could try to use one during the day but then I'd have a gel on my face 24/7. What should I do? Also, I read that it's good to exfoliate twice a week. Should I do that too while taking the meds?
  17. So i found this new acne treatment called Nanocleanse Exfoliating Clearing Scrub. It has ingredients like benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, sulfur, jojoba oil, shea butter, green tea, avocado oil, and so so many natural ingredients. I am going to try it out tonight. Anybody try this stuff yet?
  18. I just turned 59 and I don't have a horrible problem, but I've gone from "zits" to white heads. I tend to get them a lot in my eyebrows of all places, but they can show up anywhere. This site has been a huge help to me even though I'm not totally following the routine. For some reason I thought the beta hydroxy was what I was supposed to use instead of benzoyl peroxide, so I had Paula's Choice 1% gel and was using that. I used quite a bit more than I have in the past and applied it twice a day
  19. Is it normal for Benzoyl Peroxide to cause white flakes on my skin where i applied it, and does it go away in time? like when my skin is used to it? Thanks-
  20. Hi, I am currently using a 10% BP cream (Oxy 10 maximum strength). I actually purchased it by mistake as I didnt realise there were different strengths. It seems to be helping to a degree with my hormonal acne, but it is making my skin SOOO dry and sore, I need to stop using it. Also, my skin is beginning to get discoloured (slightly darker and redder where the BP has been) If I switch to 2.5% will it be as effective without being as drying? Help is really appreciated!
  21. Hey everyone, here goes.. I received dan's acne kit...and tonight was the first time I used the cleanser then bp...Can someone tell me what am i supposed to expect, like will I breakout more at first? Will my face get very dry and red?? I didn't apply dans moisturizer becase I heard bad reviews about it...also How much of the bp should I be applying since today was my first day using dan's products... Thanx for your help guys!!
  22. So my dermatologist prescribed me minocycline, differin and a 5% benzoyl peroxide wash. On the 3rd day of using the BP wash my face burned pretty bad and was covered in flakes. I guess it isn't all bad though because my acne is fading away because of this. He suggested I use the wash every other day instead of once a day and to use Cetaphil moisturizing lotion which I just bought. I want to know when i should put the moisturizer on though. Before this the order was BP wash > differin. I'm thi
  23. I'm using three pumps twice a day everyday. How long should the new style of the bottle last? I just want to know so that I can start keeping track of my progress Thank you
  24. AVON RETEXTURIZING PEEL :okayyy so im kind of not sure how to use these pads after i wash my face apply to a dry face then do i let it dry then apply my benzyol peroxide?? should i wait a certain amount of minutes before applying my benzoyl peroxide after using the pads? OR should i wash after again after using the pads? then apply bp
  25. I recently received my supplies of BP and found that instead of being in a tube as usual, it was in a small pump. The thing is I've noticed that it is going on much smoother and drying quicker than the old tube version. Also I've noticed I've started swelling up around my eyes (have been on the regime for over a year and haven't had this problem previously). Has the formulation changed and is this causing my problem? Also are the old tube supplies still available on request? Thanks.
