  1. I suffer from mild acne..I guess. It started when I was about 14 or 15, I'm now 17 and it's got worse over the years. At first, it was just a small patch between my eyes and the odd pimple on my cheeks or chin. I ate junk food, I rubbed, I scrubbed, I picked, I pecked, and I made it all worse. I had very little/no experiance of how to cope with acne, so can you blame me. Anyway..now, I'm trying to make up for my sins. I have some pimples on my forehead, and hairline, sides of my mouth, my chi

    BP gel and moisturiser

I have been using BP gel for about two months, but skipped the moisturising stage. After reading Dan's regime, I put it on with moisturiser for the first time tonight. And my skin burns like HELL! Has anyone else had this problem? It could be the moisturiser, but I don't think so... its suitable for all skin types and non comodogenic.

    Think i may stop bp

Ive just done my daily regimen and ive just used half a tube of moisturiser to just about get rid off all my dry skin, when i was using just water, no cleanser, and no bp gel, my dry skin cleared up within days, now i'm back on it i'm getting terrible dry skin, i'm using the right amout of bp and all that, i think i'm gonna cut out the cleanser and just use water and bp and see if the dry skin clears up better as it always seems to be when i use a cleanser on my face, i'm not sure about the b

    proactiv BP vs. Dan's BP

Hey everyone, After recently quitting my job for school, I've been trying to budget everything in my life so my savings can last longer. One thing that's real expensive is the proactiv line that i'm using for my skin. I know most of yall hate it, but it's done wonders for my skin. The thing is that dan's bp gel is soooo much cheaper and I've heard raves about it from lots of people on this board. Bottom line, I was wondering how my skin would react to switching to dan's BP gel. Has anyon
  5. Does it really work all day under the skin? How long will the anti-bacterial effect last after each application?
  6. I use to use clearasel ice wash (without water, thinking it may work better) which caused me to get this problem of wrinkles around the mouth area. Now 4 days ago i started on benzoyl peroxide following the acne.org instructions carefully for a twice a day treatment and am getting the wrinkles again, i am getting really worried, should i continue using benzoyl peroxide? the wrinkles arent too bad now but when smiling it is extremely visable unless moisturisor is applied. Just now i applied mois
  7. Hey.... so I've read a few posts in the regimen forum and some people say that using more BP gel works better and I'm really curious. I know Dan says for the BP gel you should only use 1 finger for the entire face but does everyone think this is enough? I can never seem to make one finger cover my entire face so I always end up using a little more. I don't want to mess with the regimen since it obviously worked for some people, and it's helped me a ton. Yet, I'm starting to think that I mig

How long will this go on

Maybe i just need a place to vent but this sucks. I feel that I would be such a moere confident and better person if i had clear skin. Maybe thats a bad thing to say but its the truth. It affects me at school, with girls, with everything. I think if i had clear skin my life would be different. the only thing that seemed to work for me was minocycline but then it seemed to stop working so well. I am back on it now and it seems to be working but not as well. I have tried mixing in some sasylic aci
  9. Is there actually any real difference between Panoyxl Aquagel 2.5% and Dan's BP gel???
  10. Just wanted 2 know if anyone has tried clearasil products and have they worked? I am thinking of purchasing them cause everyone says benzoyl peroxide helps acne clear up. I have tried alot of things but theres always a period where u get worse before better. Does benzoyl peroxide worsen acne at first? I just feel lost not sure what to use anymore.

Newbie thought: BP gel on ebay?

I'm a newbie here so hello! Just a thought for Dan here.... I know of some small-scale internet merchants who sell some of their products on eBay mostly to attract people to their website. People search for something, find an auction that seems pretty good then they check out the seller's website. That's how I found the absolute best supplier for my chinchilla supplies. Even if some of it sells kind of low it still has the positive effect of drawing business to the site and to get the
  12. Hey guys i just got home from the Derm and i have some good and some bad news ill go with the bad first i THAUGHT i was only at a state of mild to moderate acne but what the derm tells me today my face is up to SEVERE CYST acne now so he gave me some topical stuff to try and in 4 weeks if not he is gonna fight with my insurance for them to pay for accutane for me i really hope i get it because im tired of these topical stuff not working He prescribed mono something iforget the name....Benzoyl
  13. Has anyone tried this? Can I get some reviews? Im thinking about purchasing it..
  14. i have previously been prescribed tretinoin and benzaclin. now, there's this whole deal about how using retin-a with benzoyl peroxide cancels the properties of retin-a out. is this only if place both topicals on at the same time? does it not occur if you're using one in the night and one in the morning? also, with a bp wash, are traces of the bp left or is it all washed off?
  15. do u have to apply mostrurizer after applying bp gel? i havnt been doing it and my face dosent really get dry. is this ok or should i still be putting some on?
  16. So I wash my face in the morning with Burts Bees Tomato Soap and Benzoyl Peroxide and about half way through the day my face is oily. Not really oily but just enough to where it bugs me and I have to apply powder again. Any suggestions on how to keep the oil down?

Anyone else notice it thickens skin? For me, BP seemed to thicken skin and leave black heads ect... hidden under. As a 1 and a half year user of this, i noticed it very slowly thickenned my skin as time went by. However, it is slowly returning to its original form though.
  18. I need some help and quick! Ok these are the products that i really want to use, by Clean & Clear: Contiuous Control Wash (salicylic acid 2%) Clarifying Toner (salicylic acid 0.5%) Maximum Strength Persa-Gel 10 (benzoyl peroxide 10%) Dual Action Moisturizer (salicylic acid 0.5%) Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets The only problem is, i don't know what order to use the products in. I'm thinking I would use the Continuous Control Wash first, then the Clarifying Toner, then the Persa-Gel,
  19. Just wanted to share some products and ideas that seems to have finally worked to keep my skin under control. Some background: -21 year old male -Mild, yet -very- persistent, acne since 15 or 16 -Have tried Proactiv, Dan's Regimen, Botchla's, some other homemade combinations -Mostly get whiteheads, sometimes the small, but bright red bumps (forget name) -No blackheads ever (don't know why) -Mild, but definitely present red marks Proactiv was terrible, Dan's and Botchla's gave me decent at best
  20. Is it true that Benzoyl Peroxide can prolong hyperpigmentation marks? My face is smooth and I now have minimal acne after 4 weeks of Benzoyl Peroxide and Siaylic Acid. But I still have hyperpigmented marks which are still around and make my face look worse than it is. I want them to go! I have about 4 weeks more of my BP and SA regimen (total of 8 weeks) but I'd like to start removing some of these marks now. Is it possible that the BP is prolonging my marks. I know marks take about 6 months
  21. Hi, Ive been scanning this board over the last few weeks. The inormation here is fantastic but it always seems the same questions are asked over and over. Which regimen to choose, what should I add to my regiemn to make it better? I highly recommend for people to look at the book The Acne Cure by Terry Bubrow (you can get it on Amazon.com). The regimen he mentions is the same as "dan's", "botchula's" regimen only it adds glycolic acid into the mix. The regimen is (in order): 1) 2% Salicylic Aci
  22. How do I treat acne? By leaving it alone. Taking out blackheads is not recommended, and try not to pick or squeeze pimples: it can make the infection worse and cause scars. Gentle regular cleaning. Avoid excessive scrubbing. Special soaps and shampoos are not necessary. Benzoyl peroxide cream or gel, which gets rid of some of the bacteria on the skin and makes the top layer of skin peel off, unblocking the pores. It can help if you have a lot of blackheads but may irritate your skin. If so, s
  23. While I've visited this site before this is the first time I've posted. I'm 43 and have had acne for over 30 years. I break out not only on my face but my chest, back and arms. Been through all kinds of treatments from Tetracycline when I was a teenager to Minocycline as an adult, and every topical product you could think of. Treatments like Pro-Activ (or anything with Benzoyl Peroxide) are much too harsh for my sensitive skin. As I've gotten older my skin isn't repairing itself as easily a
  24. Why does everyone recommend not using BP 10% ? I think it works quicker than anything else plus if I use tons of mosterizer it's not too dry or irritating... Does anyone else use it?
  25. I've had acne since middle school, and I'm now a college sophomore. Needless to say, it's been a nuisance. I've been on Accutane twice, both times during high school; each was very helpful, but some degree of acne came back. For the last year I've had mild acne, kept that way with minocycline (which seems to be effective for me, but I'd certainly prefer not to use it in the long term due to the risk of side effects), Differin (I tried Tazorac, but it was too harsh for my skin), and various ot
