  1. I am finally clearing up with Minocycline 100mg prescription and benzoyl peroxide 5%. Been using it for a month both together and its starting to show. The problem is I have horrible red marks all over my face (not scars but reddish even blueish marks) and I know aloe vera really helps with this. My question is how should I implement it into my daily routine? In the morning i wash my face with a light cleanser then put on benzoyl peroxide and leave it for 10 minutes, after that I wash it off and
  2. Hi, I am 15 years old and suffer from acne. I have started my skincare routine which is made up of African black soap, a pore unclogging face scrub that contains sacrylic acid, a toner, and a moisturizer which is just cocoa butter. after these products, i apply benzoyl peroxide and go to sleep. I am on day 3 of this routine and am noticing my skin is very very dry throughout the day. I lather lotion and it dries up 20 minutes later. I'm experiencing a lot of skin flaking, occasional burning, and
  3. Most people out there have acne that's nice enough to dry up on its own with or without acne treatment. A couple of years ago, I just started getting these ridiculously stubborn clogged pores that will never go away no matter what I put on my skin. Also, nothing can prevent them from forming. They are extremely deep and they become inflamed spontaneously. The plugs that I get are huge, solid plugs that are like splinters. People tell me not to squeeze them but if I don't squeeze them out, they w
  4. Hello. Curious to see what others were prescribed/advised these two and how you apply them. My doc said differin during the morning every 3 days and benzaclin each night. I had irritation from benzaclin on night 3 but figured that I might've used too much too fast. Because of this I did not start differin yet. I ceased use immediately. I have been using Neutrogena's BP clear pore wash for 10+ years and never had a problem, so I'm assuming that the concentration was too high for something I wasn'
  5. Hello everyone,Let me start by giving a quick summary of my acne. At around 15 I started getting the occasional pimple her and there, but never anything too serious. However, about two and a half years ago when I was 17 years old my acne worsened dramatically. Within a matter of a couple months of this first big breakout, it got to the point where I felt the need to see a dermatologist. My derma prescribed me a mixture of Clindamycin Phosphate and Benzoyl Peroxide. This helped to initially calm t
  6. Hello, I have been using my BenzePro emollient foam (BP 5.3%) on my face every night to treat my mild adult acne since February, and it has been working very well. However, the last 4 nights I’ve been away from home and have come home late and have accidentally skipped my nightly treatment each time. On the box of the product, it says to take the missed dose as soon as you remember. My skin has only developed one pimple in the last 4 days, but I am worried that when I use it again my skin
  7. Hi. I was on accutane 30mg daily and my last dose of it was 4 months ago. I don't have ANY acne and my face was so clear for last 6-7 month. But a week ago, I get 3-4 small acne, and I used Benzoyl Peroxide %5 on them for 4-5 days. They completely disappeared. I was so happy. I wanted to dermaroll my skin with my 1.0 dermaroller. I done dermarolling 4-5?times before, and even I was on accutane, but everytime I done it, my face gets a bit red, then, it will go away in 2-5 hours. If it was ver
  8. So I was almost clear, literally 2 pimples away. My usual 2% salicylic acid wasn't working, so I decided to try benzoyl peroxide. I had tried it before with 5% and it had no result so I got 10% this time. It got rid of the pimples I wanted it to, but now I'm breaking out in a bunch of tiny ones on the left side of my forehead! There are also ab few big ones that are almost the size of mosquito bites! School starts again in 3 days! How do I get rid of this??
  9. Hi all, I've been using 5% BP now for about a year, but only realised a month or 2 ago that you need to apply it all over the skin and not just pinpoint onto spots (wish I'd known sooner!) Anyway, the reason for using 5% is that this is the most readily available BP cream I can get in the UK. I use a gentle cleanser and then a salicylic acid wash morning and night and BP in the evenings only and then cetaphil moituriser. Basically I've been trying to re-create the regimen but have seen no over
  10. Whenever I apply Cerave + 4-5 drops of jojoba oil after bp, the bp immediately clumps up, turns white, and is just super hard to rub all over my skin. Whenever I mix in AHA+ with the Cerave and jojoba oil, however, this doesn't happen and everything goes on smoothly. Does anybody have any advice to stop clumping and/or an explanation of why AHA+ doesn't cause clumping?
  11. i have this really bright red pimple at the tip of my nose. it has no head and is sort of painful. i tried popping it but nothing came out. unfortunately, going to a dermatologist isn't an option:( what can i do to get rid of this horrible pimple? it's so annoying and sooooo hard to cover up:( from what i've read, i think i have a blind pimple. i've seen some websites saying tea tree oil, benzoyl peroxide, or hot water will help. what will get this out the quickest? thank you.
  12. So I used to have mild-Moderate acne. (Since i was 14 yo). I think it's pretty genetic since my mum had it too. Didn't really care about it until I was 17, and went to a derm 6 months back who put me on BP. Been using BP since 4-5 months and has cleared me up close to completely except PIH and a few skin colored bumps. Then, I went for a follow up around 2 weeks back, and he told me to stop using all products and put me on Adaplene (Differin). Oh, and he also prescribe me a Salicylic acid 2% wa
  13. Can someone please help me figure out what the heck happened to my skin? Because it is bad right now. And I mean really bad. Compared to how I once was, at least. I've been on the regimen for four weeks now (actually, was) and unfortunately my acne took a turn for the worse. I had to stop cold turkey because I cannot handle this level of "purging". (If that's what it even was.) I may have started the regimen too fast, because I was already using two full pumps. But I thought my skin could handle
  14. Hey, I'm very confused! I started using accutane almost 2 weeks ago, but due to some very annoying factors regarding ipledge, my pharmacy, and my insurance company, I only have 5 more pills to last me until August 9th (Yeah I know, shoulda gotten 30 days, blah blah blah). Now I'm on a new dosage schedule so that it gets into my system at least somewhat consistently until my next appointment. However, when my dad called my dermatologist's office earlier today (dunno why), my doctor's assi
  15. I started my benzoyl peroxide 5% (Cintex Brand) I know it's not necessarily the acne.org BP however, I've been following the forums on this site and have found the information Dan shares about acne and benzoyl peroxide is helpful and comforting. So I wanna know if I can put the glycolic acid 10% on my face after BP at night? My face is sensitive as hell, & since it's 5% I am only prescribed once at night. It cleared me up in the past this way but I NEVER had embarrassing red marks like t
  16. First off, I'm a 23 y/o Male with Combination/Sensitive/Acne Prone Skin. I've been using Dans 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide for just over a month and a half, once a day (at night) and it really works. It cleared my Acne like nothing within 4 days and within the first 2 weeks of using it, i only encountered one pimple that disappeared in 2 days and after that, not a single one. But since Thursday night (which is 2 days from now) I've run in to a problem where certain areas on my face like the right sid
  17. Hi im 16 and recently I've been getting really bad acne. It's mostly redness and hyperpigmentation with the occasional whiteheads. I got on Epiduo and took it for 2 months but didn't notice any effect, it was staining my clothes and my bedsheets, and was really annoying and depressing to use. I researched online and saw that Tea Tree Oil was good for my type of acne. I've used it for a couple days now, and the redness seems to be slightly better although I have more whiteheads. im also taking
  18. Hi guys, So I've had pretty mild acne on my face, and more severe on my shoulders and back. For my face, I've been using benzoyl peroxide for around 3 weeks. I started with about a week and a half of using 10%, but then realized that concentration was probably way too high. During that week, I was breaking out pretty bad. I then switched to 2.5%, and my face had calmed down considerably for almost a week, with only one pimple. But the last few days, I've been having a lot of whiteheads pop
  19. Hi I know this is unlikely since if you're clear of acne you're not likely to still be on this forum but... has anybody had any positive long long term results from using doxycycline with Duac? (Benzoyl peroxide) more so with adult acne acne as I hear this is FAR more stubborn. I have just been prescribed doxy, however all I'm seeing is people say acne comes back worse a few months after taking. Naturally this is putting me off taking it and I'm just thinking either exhaust every natur
  20. I am on my 1st week of the regimen, I just got my package on Monday. A lot of people say that the BP usually stings a little for them. But when I started using the BP, it did not sting or burn for me at all. In fact, the moisturizer stung a little and tingled my lips, but nothing that bad. It didn't make my face red and it makes my skin soft. I am just concerned if the BP is working for me at all?
  21. Hi! I just want to share my journey and ask for some opinions as well. I have been having problems with pimples since I was in college, but it did not really bother me a lot since it's not that severe and I stayed mostly clear. Just a few here and there especially when I have my period. However, I think my acne situation got worse now that I am 25. I have tried loads of products, including costly visits to dermatologists. Some have worked for a short time until my skin decides to betray me a
  22. Hi, Iv'e been on the regimen for more than a month now and im up to the full fingers length of bp. For some reason it takes a long time to absorb into my skin. Sometimes 20-30 min. Is this normal? Thanks, Matt
  23. So I have been using a 5% benzoyl peroxide cleanser everyday and it has improved my bacne, however i still have some pimples on my back. Because of this all of my sheets, pillow cases, and pj shirt have been bleached. My sheets and pillowcases are a light shade of brown. Would benzoyl peroxide bleach white materials?
  24. Hello I'm 21 and have had acne since i was 13, if i dont constantly wash my face it gets VERY oily. I went on isotretinoin when i was 17 and it has helped my body acne and clear my face a little but the amount of spots i'm still getting is constantly getting me down to the point i dont leave the house. When i wake up i use a Garnier exfoliating scrub which has salicylic acid 2.5%, then throughout the day at work i wipe my face with a deep cleansing face wipe once or twice. Then after i f
