  1. Hello. Curious to see what others were prescribed/advised these two and how you apply them. My doc said differin during the morning every 3 days and benzaclin each night. I had irritation from benzaclin on night 3 but figured that I might've used too much too fast. Because of this I did not start differin yet. I ceased use immediately. I have been using Neutrogena's BP clear pore wash for 10+ years and never had a problem, so I'm assuming that the concentration was too high for something I wasn'
  2. Hello, I have been using my BenzePro emollient foam (BP 5.3%) on my face every night to treat my mild adult acne since February, and it has been working very well. However, the last 4 nights I’ve been away from home and have come home late and have accidentally skipped my nightly treatment each time. On the box of the product, it says to take the missed dose as soon as you remember. My skin has only developed one pimple in the last 4 days, but I am worried that when I use it again my skin
  3. Hello everyone,Let me start by giving a quick summary of my acne. At around 15 I started getting the occasional pimple her and there, but never anything too serious. However, about two and a half years ago when I was 17 years old my acne worsened dramatically. Within a matter of a couple months of this first big breakout, it got to the point where I felt the need to see a dermatologist. My derma prescribed me a mixture of Clindamycin Phosphate and Benzoyl Peroxide. This helped to initially calm t
  4. Hi. I was on accutane 30mg daily and my last dose of it was 4 months ago. I don't have ANY acne and my face was so clear for last 6-7 month. But a week ago, I get 3-4 small acne, and I used Benzoyl Peroxide %5 on them for 4-5 days. They completely disappeared. I was so happy. I wanted to dermaroll my skin with my 1.0 dermaroller. I done dermarolling 4-5?times before, and even I was on accutane, but everytime I done it, my face gets a bit red, then, it will go away in 2-5 hours. If it was ver
  5. Hi all, I've been using 5% BP now for about a year, but only realised a month or 2 ago that you need to apply it all over the skin and not just pinpoint onto spots (wish I'd known sooner!) Anyway, the reason for using 5% is that this is the most readily available BP cream I can get in the UK. I use a gentle cleanser and then a salicylic acid wash morning and night and BP in the evenings only and then cetaphil moituriser. Basically I've been trying to re-create the regimen but have seen no over
  6. Whenever I apply Cerave + 4-5 drops of jojoba oil after bp, the bp immediately clumps up, turns white, and is just super hard to rub all over my skin. Whenever I mix in AHA+ with the Cerave and jojoba oil, however, this doesn't happen and everything goes on smoothly. Does anybody have any advice to stop clumping and/or an explanation of why AHA+ doesn't cause clumping?
  7. So I was almost clear, literally 2 pimples away. My usual 2% salicylic acid wasn't working, so I decided to try benzoyl peroxide. I had tried it before with 5% and it had no result so I got 10% this time. It got rid of the pimples I wanted it to, but now I'm breaking out in a bunch of tiny ones on the left side of my forehead! There are also ab few big ones that are almost the size of mosquito bites! School starts again in 3 days! How do I get rid of this??
  8. i have this really bright red pimple at the tip of my nose. it has no head and is sort of painful. i tried popping it but nothing came out. unfortunately, going to a dermatologist isn't an option:( what can i do to get rid of this horrible pimple? it's so annoying and sooooo hard to cover up:( from what i've read, i think i have a blind pimple. i've seen some websites saying tea tree oil, benzoyl peroxide, or hot water will help. what will get this out the quickest? thank you.
  9. So I used to have mild-Moderate acne. (Since i was 14 yo). I think it's pretty genetic since my mum had it too. Didn't really care about it until I was 17, and went to a derm 6 months back who put me on BP. Been using BP since 4-5 months and has cleared me up close to completely except PIH and a few skin colored bumps. Then, I went for a follow up around 2 weeks back, and he told me to stop using all products and put me on Adaplene (Differin). Oh, and he also prescribe me a Salicylic acid 2% wa
  10. Can someone please help me figure out what the heck happened to my skin? Because it is bad right now. And I mean really bad. Compared to how I once was, at least. I've been on the regimen for four weeks now (actually, was) and unfortunately my acne took a turn for the worse. I had to stop cold turkey because I cannot handle this level of "purging". (If that's what it even was.) I may have started the regimen too fast, because I was already using two full pumps. But I thought my skin could handle
  11. I started my benzoyl peroxide 5% (Cintex Brand) I know it's not necessarily the acne.org BP however, I've been following the forums on this site and have found the information Dan shares about acne and benzoyl peroxide is helpful and comforting. So I wanna know if I can put the glycolic acid 10% on my face after BP at night? My face is sensitive as hell, & since it's 5% I am only prescribed once at night. It cleared me up in the past this way but I NEVER had embarrassing red marks like t
  12. Hey, I'm very confused! I started using accutane almost 2 weeks ago, but due to some very annoying factors regarding ipledge, my pharmacy, and my insurance company, I only have 5 more pills to last me until August 9th (Yeah I know, shoulda gotten 30 days, blah blah blah). Now I'm on a new dosage schedule so that it gets into my system at least somewhat consistently until my next appointment. However, when my dad called my dermatologist's office earlier today (dunno why), my doctor's assi
  13. Hi guys, So I've had pretty mild acne on my face, and more severe on my shoulders and back. For my face, I've been using benzoyl peroxide for around 3 weeks. I started with about a week and a half of using 10%, but then realized that concentration was probably way too high. During that week, I was breaking out pretty bad. I then switched to 2.5%, and my face had calmed down considerably for almost a week, with only one pimple. But the last few days, I've been having a lot of whiteheads pop
  14. First off, I'm a 23 y/o Male with Combination/Sensitive/Acne Prone Skin. I've been using Dans 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide for just over a month and a half, once a day (at night) and it really works. It cleared my Acne like nothing within 4 days and within the first 2 weeks of using it, i only encountered one pimple that disappeared in 2 days and after that, not a single one. But since Thursday night (which is 2 days from now) I've run in to a problem where certain areas on my face like the right sid
  15. Hi im 16 and recently I've been getting really bad acne. It's mostly redness and hyperpigmentation with the occasional whiteheads. I got on Epiduo and took it for 2 months but didn't notice any effect, it was staining my clothes and my bedsheets, and was really annoying and depressing to use. I researched online and saw that Tea Tree Oil was good for my type of acne. I've used it for a couple days now, and the redness seems to be slightly better although I have more whiteheads. im also taking
  16. Hi I know this is unlikely since if you're clear of acne you're not likely to still be on this forum but... has anybody had any positive long long term results from using doxycycline with Duac? (Benzoyl peroxide) more so with adult acne acne as I hear this is FAR more stubborn. I have just been prescribed doxy, however all I'm seeing is people say acne comes back worse a few months after taking. Naturally this is putting me off taking it and I'm just thinking either exhaust every natur
  17. I am on my 1st week of the regimen, I just got my package on Monday. A lot of people say that the BP usually stings a little for them. But when I started using the BP, it did not sting or burn for me at all. In fact, the moisturizer stung a little and tingled my lips, but nothing that bad. It didn't make my face red and it makes my skin soft. I am just concerned if the BP is working for me at all?
  18. This year, I've become increasingly frustrated with my acne since it has started appearing more frequently in strange places - like my forearms, hands, fingers, and stomach. While in the past I put my acne concerns on the back burner, recent events have made fighting this acne a much higher priority. It's at least somewhat socially acceptable to have acne on the face - or on the back and chest - but not other weird places. It's just scary and frustrating to think that I might not have any c
  19. Hi all sorry I havent posted properly in a few days, it was my sisters wedding and was just such a busy few days! Ok so.. my skin isn’t as fab as i thought!! The right side of my face which has always been the worst has remained clear which is good but the left side where i never had any problems has flared up. I mean it isnt really bad but with all the marks still hanging around it doesnt look great. So now i have 2 spots on my cheek (left) and about 4/5 on my chin. I am on my period thou
  20. Hi all! So today is day 4! I woke up still not HUGE changes but it is slightly better... the spots are a lot smaller and have dried up a lot. As well as this the redness is fading away, thank god! I still have a long way to go but i’m feeling positive. My spots are mainly on my chin right jaw and a few on my right cheek. The spots on my chin tend to be more spots that come to a head and the same for my jaw and the ones on my cheek are tiny tiny bumps. My left cheek has normally always been cle

7th day of using epiduo , and teranex soap
  22. From the album: Persa gel 10 Benzoyl peroxide

I took this picture today (September 27th) and my skin broke out some more. Ugh. But those white spots are actually small pimples that have come to a head so I guess that is a good thing. do you think my skin is getting better, is the same, worse, or I still need to give it some time? This Tuesday makes 3 weeks and since then I don't know if it has gotten better or worse.

    Day 8

Making this blog to vent my feelings. Prior to this current treatment tried doxycycline for 2 months with no improvement - since then my skin has gotten worse. anyway, currently on lymecycline. Tried this one when I was 17 (22 now) so hoping it will work the second time. currently, my skin is awful - the acne was initially concentrated on just my right cheese/jawline but has since break to my left jawline. Woke up today with a bit on my forehead - first one I've had there in months. I'm
  24. Just a quick update here. Still not a whole lot to say - no new spots which probably means the antibiotics are starting to work. However, those two big spots between my mouth and nose are actually four. Four! WTF My skin is really dry though I am trying to keep it moisturised. I am no longer using BP all over my problem area because I know the antibiotics should take care of that. I still need to make an appointment for the New Year to get a dermatologist referral... So...yes, slightly
