    Before Pictures

Okay so - I wanted to share some before pictures. This is when I had hit my breaking point... I would have seriously burned off my face if it meant a beautiful new one would magically appear. I had stopped going to the dermatologist because the one I was seeing wouldn't believe me when I said everything I was dealing with on my face was totally hormonal and none of the stuff I had was working. I had been seeing her for about a year and a half. LUCKILY I found someone else but anyway... here's th

    Before It Begins...

Alright. Dan's products come in about a day or two, and I'm ready to start this. I've tried pretty much everything. I've wasted (or not wasted, because at least I know they don't work!) tons of money on products and procedures that have never made my acne go away. It's only been almost a year, but I know that I shouldn't have to wait that long to have clear skin again. I can do this. I just have to be persistent, and stop torturing my skin with new products and treatments. It's insa

    Pre Accutane 7/21/13

Hi guys. I keep getting new pimples!! At least they're not really bad ones, not nodular or anything. Just whiteheads (closed comedones). I always have little blackheads (closed comedones) on my nose and chin. So I've been reading about The Regimen and I really like the Product Guide. It's really helpful. I looked online at some of the ingredients in some products I'd been using that I had suspicions about, and of course they had ingredients that clog pores! I've been cleaning out my bathroo
  5. About 5 days ago, I began using a benzoyl peroxide face wash from Kasier Permanente at the advice of my dermatologist. Other reviews say that bp face washes cleared up their skin almost within a week but I don't see any results yet (although, I will keep using it for a few more weeks since everyone has different skin types). I've only been using washing with it for 30 seconds a day and using a lotion (Johnson&Johnson) or sunscreen after, but it seems that it might be worsening my acne. I mai

  7. From the album: Accutane Journey (Zenatane)

Here's a comparison from about my first month on accutane vs the last month. The picture on the right was right before my initial breakout and the one on the right was after a long day. Pretty happy that I no longer get cystic pimples. I still get very small whiteheads around my lip area but my derm prescribed me a topical cream which has been zapping them away.
  8. I already read that it would cause severe stinging, and I know it's bad if you aren't already using benzyol peroxide. I've been using my own benzyol peroxide and moisturizer that isn't from the regimen kit and just bought the glycolic acid. Is it safe to use with my other products?
  9. I always try and do a spot test on my neck or forehead when I get a new product...like a cleanser or face cream, but it seems that "testing" doesn't work because some pores get clogged while others don't. For example, I'll test my jaw line...cause if I get a zit there, I can easily hide it, it will pass my 3 day test of just applying the new product in that one region...then I will use it all over my face...then WAM I have random zits on my temples and cheeks, not every pore, but some that were

    Pre-Accutane

Hi, I'm Amanda!! I'm 17 years old and about to start my senior year of high school. I've been struggling with acne since 6th grade, but it wasn't nearly as bad then. I've tried Doxycycline (Doryx) and I've gone on and off of Augmentin (Amoxicillin) and recently took Prednisone for a month. Prednisone helped clear me up some but obviously I couldn't stay on it for long term because it's a steroid. Right now I'm on Augmentin and in a month I'm going to start Accutane. Augmentin seems to work well

    Pre-Regimen (Epiduo)

    From the album: Regimen Progress

I used Epiduo lightly for a year and two months. I used it as a spot treatment every night and it did nothing for me. This picture was taken after I had increased the amount I used for a week before I received the regimen.

Does anyone call BS on these? I can't make up my mind. I don't know how many treatments he had but the website said it was the Mixto laser. Thanks for your input!

  15. I've always had clear skin, I would get an occasional pimple every once in awhile and it would go away on it's own. until this year I started noticing the right side of my face breaking out. I didn't think much of it because I thought it would just go away. of course, it didn't this all started around May. the right side of my face was just covered in pimples my skin was always so irritated after taking showers. I started getting face washes from the drug store in hopes that they would help. the

  17. So it's been about 6 months after Accutane, and I've had ONE pimple. I got it on my chin right where I had been leaning on it with my hand for weeks so I'm pretty sure that was what brought it out. But it was VERY small and went away very quickly. I honestly can't believe that my skin is so clear it's not even something I think about anymore (which is crazy since I used to think about it constantly, it made me miserable and self conscious and I always struggled). Now I'm just out and about l

  19. I did it recently because I wanted some extra moisturizer before my makeup application.. So I was just wondering if anyone applies their jojoba oil before their bp frequently and what kind of results it gives you? Does it make the bp ess effective? I'm contemplating whether or not I can continue doing this.

    Before and After Transformation

From the album: I can't believe I've found a cure

I've had bad acne since I was about 15, I'm now almost 25. It started as 'bad acne' and moved onto cysts and puffiness, horrible painful lumps under the skin, millions of whiteheads, blackheads, postules, you name it. It felt like a never ending trauma no matter what I did to try to stop it. Treatments I tried and their success rates, from least helpful to most: (I've left out the most trivial things like getting a full nights sleep, drinking lots of water and taking your makeu

    End of Week 1

I have reached the end of week 1 one retin-a micro .04%!! Overall it was pretty uneventful, but interesting. I applied the gel every other night to let my skin get used to it, as recommended by my doctor. I do have very sensitive/prone to getting dry skin, so I'm glad for this. Pretty smooth sailing. Did experience some mild flakiness, which was easily soothed/cured by Aquaphor (mostly just applied to driest spots; put it once on my whole face at night but that felt like straight up va

    Accutane (absorica)

I took my first capsule of Accutane (40mg) this past Wednesday, April 06 2016. This was only 5 days ago an I'm already seeing accutane work its magic. My acne has started to actually calm down a bit on my face, with the exceptions of a few pimples arising in areas that I usually don't have any acne, but my worst problem area, my neck, has gotten a bit worse. I know it's part of the process "It might get worse, before it gets better" but I can't help to feel like I'm becoming confident in my skin

Acne Scars - Before and After

Hi all! I struggled with severe acne for a couple of years and was a big picker (honestly, don't do it guys, I can tell you first hand you'll regret it so much). After clearing my acne (I am starting to get a few pimples back as you'll see in the photos, but nothing like what it was) through an accutane course of roughly 7-8 months, I was left with some pretty decent scarring on my face, which has really dented my confidence. Thus, I decided to see a cosmetic dermatologist by the name of Dr Ad

    Week 1: Day 1

Hey guys! Okay, so I want to start blogging my skin journey. I'm currently a senior in high school and it wasn't until this year when my skin decided to flare up. I have some pretty bad acne on my forehead, chin, and the right side of my cheek. When my skin first decided to break out I tried to not let it bother me and I would walk out the door and go to school no problem. I attend an all girls school so I don't really have energy to put on cover up in the mornings (plus its not the best for my
