  1. Hello everyone. Not sure where to start really. 6 days ago I went to a dermatologist for the first time in my life. I am 17 and have had acne since I was about 15. recently it started getting quite bad. I had tried many options including basically all the over the counter medicine, 2 different types of anti-biotic, massive diet change and differin. The most effective of these methods was actually the diet change. I cut down on dairy and carbs and my acne really started to go away and the redness
  2. I feel like I'm sabotaging my own skin and am considering quitting all my acne products. I get some hormonal acne but I feel like what I dislike about my skin more is that it seems to be irritated all the time with constant fresh zits. I'm afraid my skin will react badly if I quit using all my products: Morning: Proactive Step 1 Proactive Step 2 Aczone Moisturelle Moisturizer Bareminerals makeup primer bare minerals foundation-beamish remedy Night: proactive steps 1 and 2 epiduo fort
  3. Okay so today is day one of recovery from micropeel and microdermabrasion, and if you were hoping for some amazing results as was I, they have yet to come. BUT, to be fair, nothing works over night, so I am not thowing in the towel just yet. What it looks like today: red raised marks( what it typically looks like if you pop a pimple) and alot of dark brownish red flat scab type of marks where the most severe acne is/was. my pores do look much smaller, but that exciting mega peel that she sp
  4. Okay! So far so good. Today's going to be interesting, though. It's only been two days, but I'm enjoying this. STILL waiting on Dan's products, but the BP's definitely working it's magic, despite my redness/flakes. I mentioned in my previous post that I accidentally popped a pimple...woops! BUT, I put some tomato juice on it, and today there was minimal redness and absolutely no swelling. Lovely! I was so excited about these results that I made a tomato juice/seed mask this morni
  5. Hello fellow acne sufferers, So I have been a long time user of bare minerals and am looking for a replacement. It doesn't necessarily make me break out, I'm just looking for something with a little bit more coverage. I have done quiet a bit of online research and have narrowed down my search to Jane Iredale and Pur minerals. What do you guys think of these products? Better yet, do you know of a product that is better? All insight is appreciated. Thanks! Some quick info about me Skin ty

Day 3: The Makeup Is A Lie

Dan's products have arrived! I'm so excited! I can't wait to update on how they feel/work out, but first, I have some news from yesterday: SO, I had full coverage for my performance last night. I used Bare Minerals powder, and quite honestly, I've decided that I hate the way it looks on my face. I have very oily skin, and Bare Minerals has no problem showing that. I wasn't sure why a powder would make skin oily at first; maybe because I didn't use the matte formula? Anyway, Bare Min

    Anxiety + Some Reflections

Skin Update: So I think my skin might be better, on average today. While I still have probably 25 cysts, no new ones popped up today. Not fabulous, but I'll take it. I think I have a few new whiteheads, but honestly it's hard to even be sure. Could it be that bare minerals was the culprit after all? Maybe. It could also be that I haven't been eating much due to anxiety. For some reason, not consuming enough calories has helped my skin clear up in the past. Or it could just be random. Som
  8. Has anyone tried the new bare minerals foundation, BareSkin? I checked out the ingredients and it seems to be pretty good for acne prone skin, although some reviews say it might be a bit too oily. Anyone tried this one? I'm getting a sample this weekend to see how it looks.
  9. I was battling the idea of posting pictures of how my skin looks with makeup, but decided against it. Not because it looks bad (coverage is nice, we all know that), but because it doesn't matter. This is about conquering acne and being proud of your skin, not showing how to hide yourself. If I could go without makeup every weekend, I would. The problem is that my image is a pretty big part of my job. It's not the most important part, but it's enough to need to look really damn good for the
  10. That's what I feel like I'm doing! Flip flopping back and forth through my favorite products. But I have found what works best for ME. I can't help it, I'm in LOVE with Clean & Clear's Sensitive Foaming Facial Cleanser. It does such a wonderful job cleaning my skin and when my skin has been clear I have been using this stuff. I was really digging Carley's Clear and Smooth products but found that it was a little too harsh for me and that whatever progress my skin had made was before u
  11. My chin under my bottom lip is the favourite place for these little beggars at the moment. They are big. I have noticed all these spots seem to be coming to a head around three times which is strange. My skin is a lot drier now and flaking most places, the creases around my nose are quite dry. My lips have the usual need for lipbalm 24/7. The Bare Minerals foundation came. The colour is a great match, Pure brightening serum foundation in Bare Linen. The coverage is nowhere near as full as I
  12. Hey guys!! I had an idea yesterday -- I just bought a Sirius Aurora Light Therapy System with blue light (and green and red). It's been working realllllly well to kill bacteria on my skin and heal deep blemishes extremely fast... So I had a thought... I know that every time you do make-up you put p. acnes and staph and all sorts of organisms back into your powder make-up... It always bothered me that there was nothing I could really do about it.. But yesterday I decided to "treat" my open make-u

    Intro + Bare Minerals

Hello, I'm currently sitting upstairs in my bedroom, pretending to be too busy/tired to join the party going on downstairs in my house (I'm in college). In reality, the thought of going down there and showing off my acne ridden, irritated/picked face makes me incredibly anxious, and so here I am. I have sever acne. The crazy thing is that I never used to. I turned 22 and my skin starting freaking out. It's been 8 months, and it only seems to get worse, no matter what I do! My skin's
