  1. In a bit of a dilemma dealing with skin issues… I might be one of the guys that has to go through an Accutane cycle once a year to remain clear, so 2 weeks ago, started taking 60mg daily, with a 120mg dose one of those days of the week (to accelerate the process—total broscience). In the meantime, trying to figure out how else my flare-ups/irritation/inflammation can be minimized…. Maybe I just have overactive sebaceous glands, which Accutane uniquely treats and is very effective at minimiz
  2. Does anyone have any suggestions on properly putting prescription acne medication on the back? It's so easy to mess areas. Thanks
  3. This year, I've become increasingly frustrated with my acne since it has started appearing more frequently in strange places - like my forearms, hands, fingers, and stomach. While in the past I put my acne concerns on the back burner, recent events have made fighting this acne a much higher priority. It's at least somewhat socially acceptable to have acne on the face - or on the back and chest - but not other weird places. It's just scary and frustrating to think that I might not have any c
  4. I was traumatized with horrendous acne on my chest and back from the 1970s and 1980s. Today I saw just how bad those scars are. Thank God the scars on my face are nowhere near as bad as the scars left on my back. Is there any plastic surgery procedures that can help smooth out deep ice pick scars on the back? Some even go up to my neckline which I never realized until today. The photo I am attaching is not very good. The scars are much deeper and wider. Thanks for your help.

    Back Pain!

Last time I wrote about the obnoxious pimples that were surfacing out of nowhere, and luckily they went away quite quickly except for the monster on my forehead that I kept picking at...my fault, I know. So during my Absorica journey, I've been following other peoples blogs, Instagrams etc. and I kept reading about how people have had horrible back pain but never understood what they meant because I never had it. I chalked it up to me only being on it for 2 months and figured the worst had y
  6. In desperate need of any advice!! I had to stop taking birth control in November due to significant issues with depression, and my skin was doing pretty well up until 2-3 months ago when it started to all of a sudden become worse than it has ever been. I've been using 3% adapalene on my face in addition to Curology mix (azelaic acid, zinc pyrithione, clindamycin mix) and my face is NEARLY clear with only occasional breakouts on my jawline, which I can deal with. My face has never been so clea
  7. Hello, I'm 22, i have noticed that i have acne since 18 years old (maybe earlier), i had acne on my temples (dark spots) and a little on jawline. It wasn't bad at all, I didn't take it seriously. But in winter of 2017 my acne got worse and spread on forehead, chest, and upper back, shoulders. So i tried to clean it every day but it didn't help much. On the face my acne is in T-zone, cheeks are clear. On the back it's in triangle or T shape. I read about that and someone said that it's acne v
  8. What are good treatments for back acne? Ever since i adopted the acne.org regimen, my face has stayed relatively clear for years. My back, too, is generally clear. But 2 months ago it started breaking out again and i have no idea why. Hasn't been this bad since high school Things i've tried to fix it: - Eating clean (i mean CLEAN... just finished a 30-day AlP diet... nothing but meat, certain veggies, certain fruits, and water. That's **lT**.) - Washing my back daily (with a 2% salicylic ac
  9. Hey guys, I've never had any real problems with my skin in the past, but in the last year i've heavily increased my exercise. I seem to get new spots on my chest and back after every workout. I've tried all the recommended advice- cool showers, salicylic sprays and soaps, drying sweat with a towel, changing tshirt instantly after a workout. I've spent a scary amount of money on various creams, moisturisers and body washes but to no avail. I've been to the doctor a few times, i'm currently tak
  10. I have had back and shoulder acne for a good 3/4 years now and it is starting to really affect my confidence. Of course it has always been an issue for me, as it stops me from wearing the clothes I want as well as being constantly self-conscious on holiday. However, I have now reached the point where I need to get rid of it desperately. I want to start using the body regimen, but was looking for any success stories/ first-hand experiences so that I can see whether it is really worth investing in
  11. The top of my back is clear, and the very bottom of my back is clear. But the whole middle of my back is always breaking out in huge pimples. Their not cysts, but their huge and leave bad hyperpigmentation. What can be causing this? Is it my bra maybe? I only break out on my chin which is hormonal.
  12. If i'm posting this, it means the situation is desperate and i acknowledge that i have a bad skin condition. I feel some sort of relief now that i share this on a public forum. I could write a whole essay about how my skin problem affected every aspect of my life in so many ways and how i feel like i'm all alone fighting this demon called "acne". Here are some facts about my skin problem: - I started getting moderate acne on my face and neck in 2007 (i was 14 at that time) which cleared
  13. Hi Everyone, So I typed up a long message, but the site refreshed and deleted everything... In summary: 24 year old asian male acne since teen years (used ProActiv and worked but trying to go holistic route) tried many things: vitamins, Probiotics, cleanses strict diet: no dairy, no sugar, low-carb, lots of veges, fruits, omega 3s acne in face (jawline, chin, upper lip), chest, neck (cystic type), back (though recently has started to disappear but check acne still t
  14. hello, so I've been using the regimen on my face and body for 3 and half weeks. I know that skin peeling off is normal but I don't think that what im dealing with is normal.. I think I burned myself with BP! because the skin peeling off looks exactly like when you get burnt (you know the dark spots) here's some pictures. please tell me how to get rid of the burns without scarring because i once burned myself with a shaving cream chemical thingy and it scarred! thank youuu
  15. Hi all, I am currently on Isotretinoin for very bad acne on my back and chest, I have been taking 40mg a day since Sunday 24th January. My concern is, is that I have started to get spots on my face and they seem to be getting worse on my shoulders. Is it the case of 'they'll get worse before they get better'. If anyone could help, that would be great. Thank you
  16. I used this initially for my heart (it helps with palpitations etc) and noticed how much dryer my face became. It was so dry i could actually moisturize with emu oil which i did not mind at all. It took 1-2 weeks to kick in, taking 1 gram in 600ml of water every morning, from a bpa free cup. I did not change my diet, but i did also drink more water (because i was drinking this in the first hour of being awake) I stopped taking Alcar recently due to bad time management and have noticed how oily m
  17. Hi I'm Mike, I'm new here. -I just wanted to stop by and share some of of the health problems I've dealt with since taking accutane in 2008. -Prior to accutane I was athletic, a sponsored snowboarder and in very good shape. I took accutane 7 yrs ago, age: 20. -While taking it I noticed my back getting really stiff, I discontinued but the damage was done. My spine has been deteriorating ever since. For the last 3 years the most exercise I can handle is a 30 min walk. No running, no cardio,
  18. I really need help figuring out what is going on with my skin. Ever since I was a pre teen I remember having pimples on my chin, but only on my chin. I figured it was just hormones and it never really bothered me. Then I started breaking out on my back. Just in this past year or two, I've been experiencing a LOT of nausea and motion sickness that I never had as a child. I also feel very dizzy when I do things when I never used to have a problem even at amusement parks on every single ride.
  19. Okay, so I guess I should give a little background first. I'm a 21 year old female, I've always dealt with very, very mild back acne and occasionally a few pimples near my collarbone where my sports bra sits (I run a couple miles for exercise every day, but take a shower right after). Anyway, I started taking birth control about 10 months ago (ortho tricyclen) and like clockwork, every 2nd or 3rd week of the pack i would break out in tons of tiny red pin-prick looking acne spots on my chest an
  20. Hi friends, as you can see from the picture I have pretty severe looking scars on my shoulders/back. I jsut finished my accutane 6 month course and It has completely cleared up my face, which I'm happy with. However, would have been more happy if my back and shoulders were better as well. Can anyone suggest any short-term fixes where I could maybe cover up these scars with some sort of concealer or make-up products? Also if you have any suggestions concercing treatments that could possibly imp
  21. So heres the story, Im now 23, skinny, white male. Ive had acne since a teen and went on docycycline for about a year which barely worked after a month and when I stopped using it my back got really bad. So I went on accutane which was great and cured all my acne, however a few months after I started to get a few small pimples on my scalp which I never used to get and now its worse and gets really itchy. So anyway, I started using T/Gel for my scalp which kind of worked but pretty sure the coal
  22. I don't really expect much help, I'm sure a lot of people are in the same boat as me... but here it goes. Like a year and a half ago, a little more, I had a completely clear back with very occasional acne, but my face has always been a problem for me. I have followed Dan's regimen RELIGIOUSLY on my face for the last 6 years of my life. Buying his products, and using them as intended. My face would be in the same predicament as my back had I not done this, but my face is basically clear and s
  23. I am 21 and I have had moderate acne on my chest and back for a long time. I used to have acne on my face, but it has almost gone away entirely in the past year. Will my chest and back be like my face and just go away at a certain age? Have other people had chest and/or back acne just go away at a certain age?
  24. Hi everyone, happy new year! This is the first time that I am writing on a diary, or something like that. As you might have noticed, this log is about my accutane journey and I will be posting regular updates about my acne condition. (I'm so scared of what is about to happen! ) I started taking accutane yesterday on the 1st January (new year new face i guess hehe!). My doctor told me that the course might take 6-8 months so hopefully I will be acne free by the 6th month! Just to give some m
  25. Hey this is my first log which i will probably update every once in a while So im 16 years old at the moment, had acne since i was probably 12 and it has recently (this year) gotten pretty bad and irritating, with the cystic type popping up. I have tried many antibiotics which didnt really solve the problem but maybe kept it at bay for a while. Heres my cheek from a few weeks ago for reference. http://i.imgur.com/nkQMVHo.jpg I have been on doxy for about a month now but i decided it was
