  1. Hey guys, Just a question, do I put on benzoyl peroxide before or after moisturizing. Thanks so much, QuinnX
  2. Has anyone used the Aveeno daily moisturiser on their faces? If so what are your thoughts? Ive just started new acne treatment from my dermatologist that sheds/flakes my skin, so I need a good moisturiser (that isn't oily and won't cause me to break out). Im trying to avoid moisturisers with mineral oil in - Aveeno does not list it as an ingredient. Thanks,
  3. Hi, I have a dilemma with my skin that I was hoping someone would be able to help me out with. I am Caribbean with darker brown skin with a red undertone that gets slightly lighter in the winter. I have always had combination skin that is oily in my t-zone areas and normal to dry on my cheeks. I am also acne prone on my cheeks and sometimes break out with tiny bumps on my forehead. This is why I have discoloration on my cheeks and on some of my forehead, but mostly my cheeks. At the
  4. I have done A LOT of research on the best SPF moisturizer to use for acne prone skin. I have looked at the individual ingredients, gone over reviews on tons of different websites, and had much personal experience. The best in my opinion is Aveeno ultra calming moisturizer SPF 15. The ingredients are great for general acne prone skin (unless you are specifically allergic to any of them..obviously), the reviews on all different websites are very positive (acne.org, target, makeupalley, ulta, et

    Day 15 - Changes

Hi guys so I'm really enjoying this idea of me blogging everyday on my skin, its very relaxing for me and its a nice way for me to unwind at the end of the day! Progress: So today I woke up and it was my time of the month, sorry if this is TMI but I thought I'd add it becayse usually around this time I'd get a few more breakouts. I surprisingly didn't have a huge pimple anywhere, but i did notice a 2 or 3 tiny pimples on my forehead but theyre tiny, barely noticeable Also the big under the sk
  6. Active Ingredients: Dimethicone (1.2%) Inactive Ingredients: Allantoin (Comfrey Root), Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Flour, Benzyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Distearyldimonium Chloride, Glycerin, Isopropyl Palmitate, Petrolatum, Sodium Chloride, Water The product description mentions "won't clog pores." Isopropyl Palmitate is listed as a comedogenic ingredient on acne.org. It's 7th on the list of ingredients on this product. Is it far enough down the list to be safe? If not, anyone have a suggest
  7. Like many of you, I've been battling acne since puberty (I'm 18 now). A brief history: I have oily, acne-prone, somewhat sensitive skin. I used the Clean&Clear acne line for years, mostly the 10% BP one in the purple bottle and sometimes the exfoliating one in the green bottle. I followed with witch hazel sometimes, Clindamycin gel, and Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture (now I realize it wasn't that good of a moisturizer). It kept my acne mild-moderate but I've never been without whiteheads on my
  8. After searching high and low, I've finally found a sunscreen I can wear with NO silica, silicones, dimethicone, oils, scent, fragrance and I have not had a breakout of burning of my EYES! This spf 30 is the truth. I have used it for two weeks, usually a sunscreen will bring about a breakout within a day. I am so happy with the spf, I feel so lucky to have found it. I sound like I'm talking about a soul mate..it's my spf soul mate. I would recommend this for everyone. I have oily skin and i

    BB cream?

Hi all ☺ This is my first post, although I have been a long time lurker on this site! I did a 6 month course of accutane last year and this site was a godsend. There is so much good information on here and I wanted to join the discussion. To give you a bit of background info, I've been dealing with hormonal cystic acne on and off since my early teens (I'm 23 now). Accutane cleared me up almost completely (bless!). The acne started to come back about four months off of accutane, but it w
  10. So, I know the GP gives out Aveeno here for Eczema because my little one had it as a baby. I got some on Friday from my local chemist for less than £5 and by today all the dry skin on my arms and hands has totally gone. Amazing. Can not recommend it enough!

    Lemon, Lavender Day 1

So this is the first day I'm trying my new regimen I hope with help. My face has been super itchy throughout every single day with any product I use on it. Today I decided to try Lavender oil because I know it's used for calming irritation. I'm using Aveeno Complexion Clearing foaming cleanser morning and night and going to be using the lavender oil as a toner morning and night, using the lemon juice before the lavender at night and than using Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer morning a
  12. http://www.drugstore.com/aveeno-active-naturals-natural-protection-mineral-block-sunscreen-lotion-spf-30/qxp328496 This seems like a pretty good sunscreen with the zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. I read some reviews on various sites and they seemed pretty good. I was wondering if anyone here has tried this sunscreen? Also I heard this sunscreen works basically right when applied which is something I need since summer is right around the corner and I'm going to be outside for hours. I jus
  13. Hi All! I'm new to this forum, but I decided I HAVE to share my struggle with acne and how, for the first time in years, it's finally under control! I've had acne ever since I can remember, probably starting in middle school like most. However, my senior year of high school it got so bad that after seeing two dermatologists I was put on Accutane. I had a few scares, and even had to go to a neurologist, but at the end of the cycle my skin was clear. That lasted only a couple years because

    Accutane Day 160

So I had my doctors appointment three days ago which ended my 5th month. He gave me the opition whether I wanted to do another month or if I wanted to end it now. In my head I was screaming "Yes! end it now please, I am so ready for my skin to start healing back to normal" but then the doctor was like well if you were my daughter I would have you do another month considering your lab results are excellent and you dont want two years from now if it comes back saying "what if". Discouraged And Confused

Ok. I've been on the regimen for about 3 months now. I'm been using neutrogena's ultra gentle foaming face wash, Dan's BP and aveeno lotion. I had insurance last year and was using a tropical gel called clindamycin but my dad lost his job and I lost my insurance so anyways My face isn't clearing up!!!!!! I have a grip of white heads on my cheeks and chin :,( to make it worst I'm a picker but I'm trying to kill that habit, kind of hard though when you have 30 white heads on each cheek and yo
  16. Hi, I've just started using BP recently and realized that my regular Nivea soft moisturizer (which worked perfectly before Regimen) makes my skin really oily for the whole day after just one application in the morning. I did some research here and it turns out that Nivea products are not very recommended when doing Regimen as they tend to clog the pores and make skin very greasy. So I'm having an urge to find new moisturizer and so far my two best options are: Aveeno Daily Moisturising
  17. Always good to have a starting point: BEFORE STARTING ISOTREX AND MINOCIN: 3 WEEKS AFTER STARTING ISOTREX AND MINOCIN: It's pretty obvious that my skin looks worse since I started this treatment. The second 3 week update photo is of the right side of my face, which is suffering from a lot of red marks at the minute. I suppose it's better than the nodules/pustules that were there before, but it's still not the prettiest, unless you like your ladies with red skin bear
