  1. ever since i was a kid i’ve picked on my arms, badly. there was always a lot of whitehead’s and i’d spend hours picking at every single one. now years later i’ve finally stopped but now the dark spots are horrible. how can i get rid of these? they bring my self esteem down so much:( please help
  2. If i'm posting this, it means the situation is desperate and i acknowledge that i have a bad skin condition. I feel some sort of relief now that i share this on a public forum. I could write a whole essay about how my skin problem affected every aspect of my life in so many ways and how i feel like i'm all alone fighting this demon called "acne". Here are some facts about my skin problem: - I started getting moderate acne on my face and neck in 2007 (i was 14 at that time) which cleared
  3. Hi all, Just wondering if anyone else gets arm breakouts? And I'm not talking about keratosis pilaris, I'm talking about inflamed, red bumps/spots on my arms that don't have a head, and don't itch. They pop up all the time and take 4 or 5 days to go away. The only way I can keep my arms slightly clear from this is by literally slathering AHA+ all over my arms every night before bed, which, after a while, can get pretty tedious and expensive, and even after that, I will still get a few of those
  4. Greetings, I have tiny bumps that look very similar to acne although it's not based on my visuals and attempting to popping them. To recap how this occurred, it occurred back when I had a bad cough that Promethazine w/ Codine and Amoxicillin won't eliminate the cough at all. So my PCP prescribed Methyprednisolone 4MG Dose pack. It significantly reduces my cough and I asked for a second pack. After the second pack my left side of the neck started to grow acne then it turned dark and it grew rapi
  5. Hi i'm just starting my third month of accutane, and have been on 60mg per day. I have recently begun to get big rashes on all parts of my arms including the bicep, tricep, forearm, and hand areas. The are itchy and really dry, and I was wondering if there is anything I can put on them to make them go away. I put moisturizer on, which helps with the itch, but it doesn't make it go away. Any suggestions? Thanks!
  6. Hey, I’m a new member of the forum, although I’ve been reading the comments for a while now. straight to the point: I have had really bad acne on my face all through my teens. Now I’m 20 and the acne on my face isn’t gone, but has drastically improved, I still break out quite often though. I also have back and chest acne. But that’s not the main problem. The problem are my arms. For about 10 years I have had acne on my arms and it looks really bad. I have it on my entire arm, including my fore
  7. Here we are again! Nearly 7 years ago I started the regime...as a teenager. Back then would I have thought that the nearly 23-year-old me would still have problem skin? Maybe, but not this bad. I can say, this is the worst my skin has been in. Ever. Growing up, cystic acne or inflammatory acne wasn't all too common. For me it was whiteheads, mostly. And only in my T-zone. I never would get acne of any type on my checks, chin, jawline...whatever. Back then, the only inflammatory acne
  8. About two weeks have gone by since I started Accutane, and I've noticed a few obvious reactions to it. I have the usual very chapped lips all the time, with mild dry skin. However, I recently, and quickly, developed lots and lots of bumps and scrape/cut like marks on my arms and almost up towards my shoulders. They are all over my arms and hands and, while not painful, are unattractive and bothersome. I called the dermatologist and am waiting to go see him. Anyone else with similar reactions?
  9. Since fourth grade, I had bumps on arms, progressively got worse (now in high school) I really don't think it's just keratosis pilaris because it's not itchy or rough (it looks rough in the picture only because I recently tried 10% bp) and there's this white stuff that comes out when I pick on them, I believe it's sebum. There's just tons of bumps where no hair grows cause it's blocked and there's white stuff inside.{if it's red and swollen it's cause I picked at it} Unfortunately, it's wors

  11. The most consistent side effect I've had on Accutane has been the itchy arms. There are no visible lumps or bumps just constant itch. It's very annoying and my work colleagues must think I'm a junky or something always scratching my arms. Does anyone know the "science" behind this. Usually when something is itchy there is a visible reason for it.
  12. I have acne everywhere....well, almost. Upper arms, chest, back, neck, face, butt......Mostly I have little whiteheads that make a pop sound......something I'm totally addicted to. Ugh. I "love" popping pimples and picking at my skin. It's like an OCD nervous habit. I like the sound and the feel of the pop on my fingers. Sometimes my skin is really itchy, too, especially on my upper arms, it feels very tight. On my lower arms I get these little bumps that sometimes itch. They pop with a t
  13. I have been battling acne for years and I can say with just a bit of confidence that I think I have finally found the balance for my face. I am on doxycycline twice a day, tazorac at night, sulfacetamide and sulfur cream in the morning, and I cleanse with a tea tree oil soap and apply witch hazel using noxema salicylic acid pads 3 times a day. I am also on several supplements. This has kept my face mostly clear for a while now. It's not perfect but it's to a point that I can live with and no
  14. Hi everyone! So relatively recently, around 3 months ago, I took an eight-day course of either Bactrim or Keflex (can't remember for a UTI and.. while I was taking the antibiotic, I started to break out all over my upper arms in nodules, papules, and some blackheads. Since then, it hasn't gone away. It's not super extreme but I would say I get between 2-5 papules on each arm weekly. I do have mildish body acne but I've never really broken out on my upper arms other than just getting dry, bumpy
  15. My dermatologist is terrible and won't do anything or even tell me a diagnosis. He just acts all nonchalant like I am OCD and shouldn't worry about these things when as many of you know they can be very stressful energy draining to deal with. For 6-8 months I have had this pea sized red mark that is slightly raised on my upper arm and at the moment as you can see in the picture it looks like a crater, it is healing from the outside to the center. When completely healed it is just red rai
  16. Hi Im 17 and a senior in high school. I have had acne on my back since i was 13 or 14, and has since spread to my chest and even arms. 2 years ago I went to the dermatologist and she put me on minocycline and benzyl peroxide. I took the whole regimen and ended with even more acne, now on my chest and back. I went back and she put me on a different antibiotic, this time causing acne to spread to my upper and now forearms. I shower twice a day, and have a good diet. I can only wear long sleeves an
  17. Hi. A few months ago I got sick with double pneumonia and was on a heavy set of antibiotics for two weeks. As a result of those antibiotics, I developed small bumps all over my body that my doctor calls folliculitis. Now, the problem is that I've had these bumps since November. Here are some pictures so you can see pre and post. I do not have these bumps on my face or legs. I do not use soap on my face or legs. It may sound crazy, but does anybody think that not using s
