  1. didn't think i was going to have to post in this section again i've been on roaccutane (30mg per day) for just under two months and got back from my first follow-up appointment with my dermatologist a few hours ago... i had thought that my skin had improved slightly, i mean it still looks pretty bad but i think some of the redness is from marks left by old spots. but he took one look at my face and said "that's not a good improvement at all" and i swear to god he might as well have just slapped
  2. I need advice. Earlier last December before I got my first period my skin started to change. It like so oily and my pores got huge. I started breaking out on my chin. It spread to my jawline. Then my forehead. Then my cheeks. I'm emotionally devastated. Today I am having my second period and the nightmare has gotten worse. It's all over my face and now on my back and shoulders. My mom is sending me to a dermatologist on Saturday. I can't articulate how just destroyed I am. Today at schoo
  3. Hey everyone I'm new to the community and I joined because it's cool to have people to talk to who are in the same situation as me. Well I've been on accutane for about a month now (30 days) and I want to know what can I do to stop feeling so anxious about finishing the 5 month cycle already. I mean sometimes I get mad because I'm one of the only people at school that has severe acne and to top it all off, I'm pale skinned and my face is red as well. The initial breakout hit me pretty hard the f
  4. I’m fed up with having acne!! Right now my face is covered and I mean COVERED in everything acne related. Ranging from blackheads, to whiteheads to full blown cysts. There’s not one area of my face that doesn’t accompany a blemish of some sort. I honestly just don’t know what to do! I’m writting this to hopefully relieve some of my frustration. If you don’t have acne, you just wouldn’t be able to relate or understand how one can feel so hopeless and so uncomfortable. It’s absolutely embarrasing!
  5. Okay. So, I have had bad acne from when I was 13 to now when I'm 18. I thought to myself (like probably many during the summer), that I will get rid of my acne before college. See, I have/had a problem with wearing makeup CONSTANTLY and mean ALL. THE. TIME. I wore it around my parents, my friends, and even battled not allowing anyone to see my face without it during a 2 week trip abroad my senior year. It was stressful, but I managed to have fun despite these insecurities. However, I've
  6. I just want to vent out. Sorry for my bad english(not my 1st language). I thought I can make it 21days without fruits as it is the only food in my diet which may cause insulin spikes but I have only managed 5days without it. I'm gonna try again today but a part of me wants to give up. Acne has been controlling my life since I was 18. I'm 26 now. I've given up dairy long time ago, grains(wheat/gluten) too. All I'm eating now are lean meat and vegetables. I take supplements too. I have old
  7. Hello everyone, I am really intrigued by Accutane and its effects, primarily on anxiety. As a short back story as to why, basically I started my first and only course of Accutane in February 2013 up until about June 2013, up until that point I had absolutely NEVER experienced anxiety (shaky hands, sweats, feeling of adrenaline dripping into your stomach, beating heart) however during my course I changed mentally very steadily, with me ending my 6 month course a month early. I began worrying al
  8. I'm starting to get so overwhelmed by acne. I feel like it's never going to go away. I start work in an hour and all I want to do is wash all my makeup off, crawl under my sheets and pretend that I don't exist. I've been trying to fix my skin since I was a teenager. I'm almost 25 now. It feels like I've tried everything and my life has revolved around my skin for so long. I recently went off Diane-35 after giving it another shot for a year. It didn't seem to change my skin and I suffered from
