  1. Hi everyone, I am slowly starting to see the effect of eating nutrient dense food and sleeping on time waking up early. I am in no way clear. But I get 1-2 spots compared to a warzone my face was about 2 months ago. ven few days of being absolutely clear.. I will be having a surgery tomorrow and the doctors have told me they would have to give me an antibiotic for a week when I am healing to prevent infections. I feel my acne issues started when my gut got weak while on a dose of ant
  2. hey guys, i have been on erythromycin for about a week now and my pimples seem to be getting 'worse' I'm breaking out more, and it just doesn't seem to be having any effect? how long should i wait for it to start to kick in before I go back and see my GP?
  3. I'm 28 and have been on acne meds for a very long time. I was on and off Accutane from age 18 to 22--two cycles of small doses. Since 2009 I have been either on aldactone (worst drug--regret taking it, because it helped with body acne but not hormonal) and antibiotics. I have gotten nasolabial fold pimples in the same places and so often that I have finally started developing scars for the first time. My skin is scaly, discolored, and covered with whiteheads for three weeks per month. It has
  4. I've been on Solodyn + Ziana for about 2 weeks now for my moderate acne and in the first week I only had a few headaches and lightheadedness but starting with the second week to now I've been extremely exhausted, having to take naps everyday but my headaches have gone away... For those who have taken Solodyn, does the fatigue usually go away with time?

    My Story, Advice needed!

Hello everyone,Let me start by giving a quick summary of my acne. At around 15 I started getting the occasional pimple her and there, but never anything too serious. However, about two and a half years ago when I was 17 years old my acne worsened dramatically. Within a matter of a couple months of this first big breakout, it got to the point where I felt the need to see a dermatologist. My derma prescribed me a mixture of Clindamycin Phosphate and Benzoyl Peroxide. This helped to initially calm t
  6. I'm 16, and just got prescribed doxy(100mg 2x a day), tretinoin(0.05), and sulfacetamide. I've had clear skin all my life, and starting around January acne came and destroyed my cheeks and jawline!no scars , just pih. I was expecting a little acne because I take creatine nitrate, whey protein(in milk), and bad food to gain weight for football. I've been doing that diet for a year now. I'm on day five of all those prescriptions, and so far it's wiped out all bumps but maybe 3! I've gained 2 large
  7. Hi I’m Kelly and I’ve been recently struggling with an acne problem I thought was resolved :(. I have been taking minocyline for the past 3 months and recently was taken off of it by my derm. Also, I was on trentinoin .05% and clindamycin 1% gel along with the minocyline. I am still on the prescription gels however upon coming off the pill a week or two ago my face has consistently gotten worse breaking out. Shouldn’t the gels be preventing that? Will this get better with them or should I ask to

I went to a dr about my acne for the first time yesterday. She won't refer me to a dermatologist, but she barely looked at me and prescribed minocyclin and also a cetaphil cleanser, 10%benzoyl peroxide cleanser, and a cetaphil moisturizer. I'm happy with the topical products prescribed but I've only had two doses of the mino and need to take the third but I'm kind of afraid to because my head and ears have had intense aching pressure all day, really bad and also all I want to do is sleep. I just
  9. Hello Im new in here can someone please give me some advice?? I suffer from severe acne with cysts pustules come done so and inflammatory pimples. I took Diane 35 for about 5 years then stopped when it killed those girls in France. Went on a three month accutane course. Lately over been taking doxycicline since June 2014, and about three weeks ago I grew immune to it. My derm prescribed me Minocyclin with she guaranteed it would do the same as Doxy Doxy would clear me up beautifully from one
  10. I am starting ortho-tri cyclen lo soon.. hopefully within the next three weeks, I have a bunch of questions. Anyone who has taken ortho-tri cyclen, or ortho-tri cyclen lo: Did it help your skin? How bad was your skin when you started taking the pill? Was there an initial break out? if so, how bad was it and how long did it last? What time of the day did you take it? where there any bad side effects such as nausea etc.. I have pretty bad back acne and im realllyy hoping to be clear by
  11. Alright so 2014 was the toughest year for me, i was going through year 10 having already suffered with acne and it was slowly becoming severe acne, my dermatologist tells me. that's no exaggeration, it had suddenly spread to my cheeks from my forehead and chin and there were cysts everywhere. Anyway, after many medications My dermatologist prescribed me a 6 month course of Tetralysal (Lymecycline) before the last resort, accutane. I am now 4 months into my course and things were better than eve

  13. when i took antibiotics(oral and topical) they lasted 1year after i stopped them. actually 1,5years. if i'm not mistaken, accutane usually lasts 1,5y also (if it's not a complete success). but why do i get the feeling bp lasts 1week at best? you see i'm trying to get rid of my backne, mostly by holistic way, but my backne is more than mild so it needs a little push, an acceleration, something to regress the bacteria down 'cause it's way out of balance > an antibiotic. after the bacteria
  14. Hey guys, Right now i am experiencing probably the worst skin condition of my life, my doctor has given me Klacid 500mg (a strong antibotics) for around 7 weeks now and said I might need to start on Accutane if that doesnt work for me. My skin was perfect while I was studying in Switzerland and once I got back to Hong Kong, I have non stop breakouts for over half an year. My acne is not at all severe, its not cyst acne, just a lot of whiteheads/blackheads/small pimples and that. (like s
  15. Hello. So, I am 21 yrs old and have been on Doxycycline (prescribed) for about one and a half month. I have cystic acne, Grade 2- which is around moderate. I have twice had cystic acne when I was about 15 and then 18, and now it has come back at 21. Both the times I went to the dermatologist since my face used to hurt because of my acne and both the times I was prescribed with Doxycycline, which worked great for me, almost immediately. But this time its taking longer than usual. As I was educ
  16. I just started taking minocycline two days ago twice a day, and I've noticed I get headaches from it. Is that normal? Will the headaches go away after my body gets used to the pills? Is this a severe problem?
  17. So I’ve been taking a generic form of yaz birth control continuously (meaning I take only active pills to not get a period) for a few months, and my skin has been unbelievably clear after a long struggle. Recently I had to take an antibiotic for a UTI. The antibiotic interfered with my birth control and decreased its effectiveness, which I knew because I started bleeding and continued to bleed for almost a week and half. This was about three weeks ago. Since the antibiotic and the bleeding, I h
  18. I've been applying Epiduo for about 6 weeks now and I recently had my appointment with my dermatologist. He said that it slightly improves acne. When I first started Epiduo, even my face wash was irritating and burning my face when applying but it hasn't anymore. I still have flakiness and dryness around my mouth area and jaw line. My acne is still red and irritated. I don't see much improvement at all but my dermatologist recently put me on Doxycycline and I'm taking 100mg twice a day. My face
  19. Hi Guys I have been suffering with moderate acne and tried to control it via benzoyl peroxide and over the counter spot treatments When i started University, it got worse and i registered with my University GP and was prescribed Lymecycline and topical Clindamycin (Dalacin) and after a month, it worked like a miracle with all spots gone and my skin felt amazing. However when my university finished and i moved back to my home, i had to re register with my previous GP and when i trie
  20. I'm just wanting feedback from anyone who has gone through a course of Erythromycin + Stiemycin treatment. I've recently been prescribed it and tried to do some research on it's success but can't find very much online. Has anyone had any success with it? Would people recommend or advise to stay off it? I have had cystic acne for the best part of 4 years now and have been on Oxcytetracline (ineffective), Ro-Accutane (didn't finish course as I went on a long holiday to Australia) and Dianett
  21. I'm 20 now and have been taking antibiotics since I was 13... Honestly feel like I've tried everything so any help appreciated. Been on Lymecycline, Erythromycin, Roaccutane for 8 months (this 100% worked but my skin got INSANELY bad before it got better and don't really want to go on that again, even if I am tempted). I've used pretty much every topical cream prescription under the sun, and have tried Kefir regime for 2 months but this didn't seem to do anything. I am currently o
  22. Hey guys, I’m currently on Differin 0.3% and Minocycline 100mg twice daily. I’ve been on the Differin for 3 months and the mino for less than 2 weeks. The Differin was doing absolutely nothing but ruining my skin, and the mino has helped me out a lot. BUT, I’m still getting new pimples every day, and I’m not too fond of the Minocycline. I’m looking for people who have transitioned straight from retinoids and/or Minocycline into Accutane and if you had an initial breakout? My face is FILLED w

    Epiduo Forte - Success??

Hi! I've had acne for over ten years now, and I'm looking for some support. I've tried countless prescriptions and do everything I can to protect my face, but nothing seems to work. Last week, my dermatologist switched me to Epiduo Forte Gel, Minocycline pill, and Beyaz birth control. Has anyone had success with these (specifically the epiduo forte gel)? Right now, my skin is bright red, burning, and peeling. I know it's because it's the first week, but I'm hoping to hear some success stories! T
  24. Has anyone found that supplimenting antibiotics with probiotics could help the acne stay away after stopping the use of antibiotics? Just curious if there is ANYONE out there who recieved long term and or perminant clear skin from using antibiotics for their acne and maybe some advice on how to break the cycle of acne returning shortly after antibiotics are done. Im taking minocycline now and I refuse to be on it for more than a month, unless my derm can seriously convince me otherwise, I do n
  25. Hi there everyone! I am new to posting but have been reading the forums on and off for about a year. I've had acne for years, I am 24 and it's increased exponentially for about the last 5 years. As a teenager I would have a pimple and it would be no big deal. Now I always have one or two or five. I had blackheads whiteheads and cystic pimples for about a year before I visited the derm. I told him I tried everything over the counter possible. Drugstore stuff. Expensive sephora and ulta stuf
