  1. Hi, Is anyone aware of any new revolutionary acne treatments underway?...It seems like we've been stuck with the antibiotics, accutane,Benzoyl Peroxide, and salicylic acid forever... Have you heard of any drugs that are seeking FDA approval....The only "new" drugs I've seen are a scam..They are old antibiotics that are now "slow-release" tablets with fancy new names...
  2. Hi!im totally new to posting anything about my acne! I've followed this site getting so much comfort from other's stories and advice, so thought I'd take the plunge and write one myself. Ive had acne for 11 years now, started when I was about 13 and I've never grown out of it. I generally swing between being devastated and accepting (although, this is usually when it's having an 'OK' day) I had had a brief period where my skin was immaculate! I was on the Qlaira birth control pills. It only last
  3. So I have noticed over the years that every time I eat McDonald's it seems my face breaks out in cystic acne, I know I know simple solution Don't Eat McDonalds. My question is anyone else have this happen? This doesn't happen with any other fast food place. I have emailed McDonald's they claim their oil is all vegetable. It seems there has to be something weird in it, or they are cooking all the foods together? The fish maybe? I am prone to cystic acne but only seems to flare when provoked. Whil
  4. What's the difference between marks and blemishes? Pictures or links would be good.
  5. I'm a male , 19 years old. I work out every other day. Strict diet. No diary no suger etc.. Eat healthy, a lot of veggies and protein. I wash my face each workout and 2 times a day. The past few years I've been fighting this ance war and i tried all the methods. I tried proactive, clean n clear, Neutrogena, None really worked. Clean n clear were great, take out all my black heads until my skin got immune to it. I don't touch my face at all. I drink zero calories Vitamin water Eat a leas
  6. I've had acne (mainly cystic) for over 2 years even though my skin was never really clear and always quite congested. It's now gotten to the point were I have tried everything under the sun, except acutane. Nothing has ever cleared up my skin, no prescription from a doctor or natural remedy. My skin makes me feel so low that I don't go outside or have any friends anymore. My skin is covered in scars and suffers really badly from hyper-pigmentation I honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong.
  7. Hello there, I just recently joined and I need help. Roughly 5 weeks ago, I used the clindoxyl cream on my forehead and the side of my face because there was 1 or 2 pimples and i left it on over night. I did this for 2 nights however on the second day, I left the cream on all day. (I usually wash it off the next morning) The third day, I started to notice 3 or 4 tiny bumps. I thought it was nothing and the next day, there was more, and so on. I believe it's the Benzoyl Peroxide, since I may
  8. So I decided to sign up on acne forums because I've given up on searching and trying other peoples advice. I want a straight forward answer as well. I will timeline my acne battle below Age: 13 I begin to have small yellow heads and black heads appearing... Age: 14 It starts getting worse and I begin getting small cysts, at this point I take it as puberty kicking in... Age: 15 Probably my WORST period of my life. Seriously. I also had my holiday in Europe and I was on accutane for
  9. Hey everyone, I am an 19 year old boy and have experienced regular skin problems since 10th grade. Fortunately, these problems haven't included ance per se, just constantly pimples. Over time they seem to have only gotten worse which is beyond frustrating because most of my friends have been through their phases of bad skin and are now in the clear. To make matters worse, many pimples leave a clearly noticeable red mark which seems impossible to banish! My usual regimen involves: a) usin
  10. Hey I need help!! I have moderate ance all over my face and I was prescribed Benzoyl Peroxide 10% gel and Clamydacin 1% gel to apply every night before bedtime by my pediatrician. I'm 15. My doctor said to apply BP first one night then the next night apply Clamydacin first, so I am supposed to alternate it everyday He also said to eat these Indian seeds called Chasku and I do that thrice a day. 14. Hi everyone, I'm new to the Regimen and I have a few questions that I'm hoping some of you that are more familiar with the Regimen can help me with! A little history about my skin and previous products: I'm 21 years old. I initially started the Regimen last year after seeing the results of my best friend, who recommended I start it. I had never really had acne prior to this point, but since I spent the entire Spring and Summer in Toronto in a really hot climate, I had bumps all over
  15. I have some scars/decolouration of the skin after some pretty bad acne over the past few years. I have been on doxycycline for around 6 months and my acne is starting to clear but I still have these marks from picking skin etc, and I want to know some of the best/quickest ways to remove and fade the colouring and marks and make my skin clear. 17. Ok, this is going to be a long post so bear with me, please. I am desperate for help. I am 27 years old and back in school so I have no insurance and can't see a dermatologist. In August, I decided to switch from Rodan & Fields Unblemished to TULA. I was wanting to get away from putting all of the harsh chemicals on my skin. I had extremely mild acne growing up and there really wasn't a need for me to be using the product. When I started using TULA I developed these small bumps around my
  18. More recent research has suggested that hormonal fluctuation in the body may be the main cause of acne, such as during puberty, pregnancy, menstruation, and times of stress when the skin tends to be more oily. When dead skin cells and sebum (the natural oil produced by glands in the skin) clog pores, acne forms and can become quite severe if left untreated. Fortunately, there are various treatment methods, from facial cleansers with benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid, to natural remedies like te
  19. Hi I have recently joined and noticed that there doesnt seem to be one topic board for people who have used or want to use TCA Cross for scars etc.... the information is scattered. I have large pores and blackheads on my nose and am wanting to use the TCA Cross method, but it is so scarey as I am not sure if it will help the large proes or make them worse.... Recently I just bought a product called Bio Peel from ebay which apparently uses less harsher chemicals and acids than what the TCA Cr

  22. What I love about asian deserts, especially chinese desserts is that majority of them does not contain any milk. For some reason milk causes my acne and when my dermatologist suggested not to eat anything with milk or drink any milk products i stopped eating anything that contained milk entirely. Since almost EVERY savory deserts and sweets contain milk, i won't eat them at all. Anyways, theres a chinese desert called glutinous rice balls and they don't contain any milk in them and still taste

  24. So I'm on my 3rd week of accutane and am wondering how people further along on their treatment have found drinking alcohol? I go out quite a lot and drink a fair amount most weekends and the fact that your not meant to drink was one of the reasons it took me so long to actually start the treatment as I knew I'd have to adjust my lifestyle so much and that people would question me when they see that I'm not drinking. Saying that, I went to a club on the first week of taking it and only drank a bi
