    Pre Accutane 7/21/13

Hi guys. I keep getting new pimples!! At least they're not really bad ones, not nodular or anything. Just whiteheads (closed comedones). I always have little blackheads (closed comedones) on my nose and chin. So I've been reading about The Regimen and I really like the Product Guide. It's really helpful. I looked online at some of the ingredients in some products I'd been using that I had suspicions about, and of course they had ingredients that clog pores! I've been cleaning out my bathroo
  2. hi guys. im 21 right now and was prescribed amoxicillin when i was around 15/16/17 (honestly have no idea exactly when) i haven't been on amoxicillin the entire time. whenever my skin is clear, i try going off but within a few weeks all the acne comes back. i know amoxicillin def works for me, but when i am on it i am also less stressed because i just don't worry about if my skin will breakout, etc. (so clearly i need to work on stress management as well) anyways, i want to get off of it complet
  3. Hi, I have been on Amoxcillin for about 3 years now and am afraid that my body will start to become immune to it. I was wondering if anyone else who has been on Amoxcillin or something similar ever came across a viable replacement? My problem is that amoxicillin seems to be the only thing thats works for my skin. I am currently taking these suppliments, but they are having little to no effect: Vitamin D3 (5000 IU) Zinc (30 mg) Vitamin C (1000 mg) Allicin (5000 mcg) Queens Delight (Co

    Amoxicillin

So I just started Amoxicillin this week and I was wondering what kind of experiences you guys had with it? How long did it take until you started to see improvements? How long did you stay on it because I've only got a 1 month prescription?

    Red/blue Light Therapy

Hey guys, This is my first post on here! but I have been struggling with moderate acne for about 8 years (I am 22). I am finally on a strict regimen including clindamycin, 2x/day, amoxicillin 2x/day, benzoyl peroxide once/day as well as moisturizer and salicylic acid face wash. I know that the tetracyclines have worked on me in the past almost instantly, but I recently began breaking out in hives when I was on minocycline so those are out of the question for me now. So my question is: H
  6. I've had terrible trouble in the past with acne, BP never worked, and I thought I found my magic secret in Tea Tree Oil. For the last 2 years I've had mild to moderate acne thanks to TTO, without it I would be very severe. However, on occasion, I do get large cysts, and about 2 weeks ago I got a huge one on my nose. It looks horrible, it feels horrible, and I'm in the UK where it's almost impossible to get a dermatologist appointment on the NHS (poor student, can't afford a private appointment)

    Spironolactone

I am on spironolactone 25mg/day. I take new blood tests in two days. If my blood potassium is normal I can proceed to a higher dose of spironolactone. I have noticed some oil reduction. I also use amoxicillin, cephalexin, tretinoin and benzaclin. When I run out of benzaclin I use OTC 5% benzoyl peroxide mixed with topical clindamycin which mimics ziana. My goal is to stop taking so much antibiotics and use the hormonal treatment route like spironolactone provides. I also want to get back on

    Day 142

I'm feeling SO much better! See my before/ after photos below. I never thought I would see improvement like this, and in only 142 days. I started my treatment plan around December 1st, and the after photos are from today, April 19. I haven't blogged since Day1, but I came back specifically to share how well my treatment plan has worked for me. I truly felt hopeless, and have had pretty serious acne since age 12 (I'm nearly 23 now!) and I didn't expect this to work. I stuck with it though, and I'

    9 Days Until Accutane!

Hi! Sorry I haven't made any entries lately. Not very much to say. I'm starting Accutane on the 17th. I'm a little nervous. School started up 3 or 4 weeks ago. Haven't gotten a whole lot of homework yet. Hopefully it'll be a good year! I'm currently working on college applications. Here's how my skin is doing right now: Still have quite a few bumps, but I think it's definitely gotten a little better. I've been changing my pillow case more often and instead of using a hand towel
  10. I have a quick question about the medication Amoxicillin, that I hope someone can answer for me. c: Last week I was prescribed this antibiotic to treat a UTI. 500mg a day, 3 times a day for 7 days. Tomorrow will be my last day of taking them. Also in this time frame, one of my wisdom teeth became infected and I found out that it's actually impacted, so I'll be having all 4 of my teeth removed on Thursday. My dentist was going to prescribe me an antibiotic for the tooth infection but of course t
  11. I'm 18 and female, and have suffered with acne for almost 5 years. I've been on the following treatments with the following results, listed from oldest to newest: Benzoyl peroxide/salycylic acid/tretinion regimen- This regimen dried my skin out (and I don't have sensitive skin!) and did not help my acne much above regimen plus Doxycycline- the antibiotic that did nothing from my acne, same results as before Amoxicillin twice a day/benzoyl peroxide/tretinion- THIS WAS THE CURE TO MY ACNE. Unfortu

    Month 8

It has now been about 8 months since I have started taking spironolactone as well as acidophilus. A couple of weeks ago, I was starting to get spots again, so they decided to up the dose from 100mg to 150. Honestly, I didn't see much improvement. I then was prescribed amoxicillin to take for 8 weeks. It is supposed to help my body absorb more of the meds. It has only been a couple of weeks, but I don't think it has really kicked in yet. My skin is not bad right now, but I do have a couple spots

    Blood Test Yesterday...

I got blood drawn yesterday. The phlebotomist was nearly incompetent. She jabbed with the butterfly needle right into my flesh and starts moving it around. Excruciating! She also suggested that I may be running low on blood. Ridiculous. I offered her my other arm and she still couldn't find a vein. Finally she poked around and pierced one and took my blood. The test is for my potassium levels to see if my dose of spironolactone can be increased. Fingers crossed! I really want to switch to a more

    Pre-Accutane 8/17/13

I actually took these pictures yesterday...I woke up today with a few new pimples toda. I have quite a few on my forehead right now, probably because of my bangs. Isn't it amazing what makeup can hide?? My acne was pretty bad at the time these photos were taken but you can hardly tell! I tried acupuncture for the first time today! Some of the needles hurt but most of them didn't.
  15. Hey everyone, I've been a very old member (check my old posts if interested) and i've been suffering from acne (pustules mostly) since I was 13 (I'm 24 now) and got onto antibiotics for 2 years from (2012-2014). The antibiotics I used were doxycycline and minocycline and worked amazingly well but I became resistant to them. Eventually I stopped using antibiotics as I was getting worried about the impact it has on your gut. After I got off the antibiotics, I realized my acne was completely fo
