  1. Hi! I'm dealing with severe acne since I was 13. 7 years later I have tried everything on the market for acne. I've also taken several antibiotics for acne, and tried many topical creams and nothing worked. The only thing that is left for me to try is isotretinoin. I was so happy when I heard about it, thinking it would cure my acne for good. But after reading about isotretinoin online, I have found out that it contains soya oil, and that patients who are allergic to nuts and soya can't take thi
  2. I've been taking Accutane (Myorisan) for about month and a half, 40mg x2. Everything seemed to be working well other than dry skin and lips but about 5 days ago my neck suddenly began to itch so I scratched it, but it didn't stop I woke up the next morning and my entire right side of neck was red and swollen a bit. I thought maybe it's just another side effect and put on OTC anti itch cream. But the itchiness spread and it went upto my face and made my face red, swollen and sting. Then it
  3. Hey guys, So after using the regimen for around 4 months, the redness and itchiness is really getting bad, especially a few inches under my eyes, which I don't even get the product near anymore. I put on the benzoyl peroxide near my cheeks and there is just painful burning at first and I get very red and it feels hot, and the redness subsides through out the day, and I'm not sure if I'm developing some sort of allergic reaction to benzoyl peroxide, or maybe dermatitis? I have some pictures to
  4. I have been using tretinoin cream 0.05% for 4 weeks on my face and neck every night. The past week and a half my neck has been getting redder and more irritated & itchy , I read that redness and dryness is a normal side effect but this doesn't seem or feel right ... Is skin supposed to react this way to tretinoin ? I also used it on my chest which is usually pretty clear it broke me out bad my whole chest was red and blotchy so I stopped and now it seems to be clearing up. I honestly lo
  5. Hey everyone. so I had a facial about 3 weeks ago. needless to say, I will not be getting another. I had a breakout and decided to go to an esthetician so they could get me pointed in the right direction with better skincare products tailored to my needs and such. I my sister had gone to her previously and she has alot of experience with acne. n fact, she had pretty severe cystic acne herself that she had since cleared up. anyway, I had a deep cleansing facial with extractions done. the extracti
  6. I started using the regimen January of 2015. And stopped later summer of that year. When i started using it again this January, it didn't really gave a lot of difference to my skin as it did when i used it the first time last year. And when i started using the AHA this spring, it gave me allergic reactions to it. At first, i really doubted that it was from the AHA so i stopped using it just to be sure. And my allergies was gone. The puffiness and the redness of my face was gone. So i started usi
  7. Started "The Regimen" and while I waited for my 2.5% to come in the mail, I used a TINY bit of my old 10% that i had used previously. Around 6 months ago before doing the regimen, I used BP in my daily face wash routine and would use the 10% and one day had a reaction that was little more red and felt like sunburn and I stopped using it. It was probably just because I used too much at such a high percentage. So, now, I used this 10% (VERY small amounts) twice for two days and then I ex
  8. I am officially allergic to: All legumes (Including peanuts and soy) All nuts Fish with fins Chicken, Turkey, Eggs. The only treatment is avoiding... Anyone else have this issue? What do you eat?
  9. Hi, I am a 35 year old woman and I just discovered what was causing my big, red, painful blemishes, a condition that stayed with me since I was 20 years old. It was gluten-sensitivity. Before I had discovered this sensitivity, I had tried the "Proactiv" type medicines, I made sure I didn't wear moisturizer or make-up with oil in it, (definitely no sunscreen), and even went to the doctor to try a medicine ( but I soon talked myself out of it). Then a few months ago, I read an article about th
  10. Even though i have some kind of allergy/eczema/atopic dermatitis going on in my face and neck... (My allergist confirmed that to me weeks ago), Diane-35 has helped me A LOT with my acne, so I´m happy to take it. The weight gain is the only side effect i´m having right now! But not other side effects for the moment. Do someone know what to eat/not to eat when you have atopic dermatitis? I´m confused with this disease... Thank you!
  11. From my very basic understanding, the Asian populace, specifically Chinese, are more likely to be lactose intolerant. The question is whether it is due to environmental or genetic factors or a combination of both. I cut out dairy and sugar quite effectively although I have seen my share of trying times. For instance, I got a new room mate that eats like an 8 year would if they were capable of buying their own groceries (i.e. "fun foods" such as cereal and other high fructose corn syrup treats
  12. Hi everyone! I am a 20 year old female who never had acne before my sophomore year in college. Then the summer of my sophomore year, I suddenly started getting very large red bumps on my forehead that could not be popped and were painful to squeeze. Squeezing them only resulted in a water-like liquid oozing out. I get them in waves of 5, wait for them to heal, only to have 5 more pop up on my forehead before the previous wave completely disappears. This has been going on for two years. I hav
  13. On June 6th, my skin was really good. My stupid self decided to wash more than 7 (!) times, and after certain parts dried out, I applied WAY too much lotion, which resulted in tiny bumps. Now it's June 8th, and I'm back at square one: My face is itchy, scaly, dry, and puffy. Small bump clusters cover every inch: How can I even treat this? It feels like an allergic reaction (my upper cheekbone area is swollen) and my neck is scaly and dry Any and all help is EXTREMELY appreciated!
  14. Hello everyone~ I made this account just to share this and another post I'll be writing up soon. So I am allergic to wheat, soy, and peanuts and am also lactose intolerant. So basically it is inevitable that I accidentally eat something I can't. Well two days ago I ate 85% dark chocolate with soy lecithin and something else with soy oil. I heard soy lecithin is ok for people with soy allergies, but it turns out the minority actually can't eat the oil or lecithin (check it out if you have a so
  15. So I was recently prescribed a tretinoin cream for my acne on my face. After a few days of using it I realize that my face was getting a little better, despite having flaky and irritated skin. However, 2 days ago, I woke up to find my cheeks and jawline swollen. Is this a normal side affect, or should I stop using the acne cream?
  16. Before / during & after pics- you can probably guess which is which and why im so upset. I have always had mild acne but went on roaccutane years ago and have maintained pretty decent / clear skin for years with Duac gel and regular cleansing but recently I have been getting horrific "allergic reactions" to ALL of my facial cosmetics- just on my face- and cant even wear my foundation / use my facial cleanser without horrific results (see pics) . Basically now im house-bound and have been for
  17. Hi! So about a year ago I started taking doxycycline for my acne. It worked so well for months and then out of nowhere it started to break me out in full body hives. Does anyone know why this happened? Once I realized the hives were from the doxy I stopped taking it. I wanted to see how my skin would be without it before I tried another medication. It was fine for a little while and now it's terrible again. Is there another medication I can take or any other options I have that will be similar t
  18. Hello all, Just joined this sight because I wanted to get an idea of what the "general populace" of those who've dealt w/ similar issues thought. Let's see if I can sum up my experiences this past year (almost) without going into the emotional mess of it all, while also keeping it clear and concise. Here it goes: I'm 18, almost 19. Period started when I was 16 and was irregular (talking 2-5 months without one) and always light and around 1-3 days. Never really had hormonal acne and only had th
  19. Hello! I just wanted to know if its possible to break out from the smell of something? I know I'm very sensitive to citrus and since cutting it out a lot of my jawline acne went away.. but my parents love to use lemon for everything, so the zest smell often fills the house. I find that even though I cut it out of my diet when I get saturated with the smell it still irritates my skin. I know even without the smell I would still have some acne, so the whole thing could be coincidental, do you t
  20. So my acne is pretty bad and I started taking minocycline about 10 days ago and it started to calm down a bit. Anyways, I just took a sip of Blue Moon beer and all of the sudden, my cheek/jar line acne that went away came back. I have no idea if I'm allergic to wheat or whatever in the Blue Moon. Has anybody experienced anything like this?
  21. Hello, I don't really ever post, but I've been avidly reading everyones posts for a couple years now. I'm in serious crisis. I have attached a pdf that I sent to my last dermatologist that includes a detailed description of everything I'm going through, it also contains pictures. Please read the pdf and let me know if you have any ideas...my current derm still thinks I have pitryosporum folliculitis as did I but my mind is starting to change it has not responded to Ketaconazole 200mg 1 weekly
  22. Hi, I am new to this forum. I have been following up with acne.org since last year and I have FINALLY created an account for the forum. To make it short, I have had acne since last year when I had a breakout (moderate to severe) after I used a new makeup (bb cream) and I have tried various prescription drugs from my doctors and it only worked for a short term such as Ziana (Which I DON'T recommend because you have the chance of getting keratosis pilaris due to its ingredients after prolonged usa
  23. Has any of you ever used Skincode Essentials products? I bought myself their purifying cleansing gel product, especially because it had none of the comedogenic ingredients and it's said to be for sensitive skin. I bought it a week ago, and used it every day, twice a day, and after a few days it caused me itchy skin, especially on my face, and small itchy rashes on both my face and hands (on the areas that came in contact with the product). I stopped using it this morning, so I'll see how my skin
  24. Hi everyone. I just joined, although I've had acne for nearly 12 years so I don't know what took me so long! I have been using liquid foundation for many months, L'oreal True Match to be precise, but it causes me to break out in my most acne-prone area, my chin. I use it because I'm very, VERY fair, and most foundations make me look orange no matter how "fair" they promise the shade to be. True Match is the only foundation I've found that matches my Snow White skin. But, I don't want to erupt in
  25. Hey guys, I know you're all a knowledgable group, so I just wanted to run something by you. Before I continue let me say that, yes, I did try to look into this on my own terms, but nothing of value turned up. Quick background: • Have slight Acne for 6 years • Tried tons of home remedies • Prescriptions • OTC stuff • Derm visits • Started doing Dan's Regimen precisely • Loved it • Worked PERFECTLY (100% clear) • Bought all of his products • Loved them • 3 months into the
