  1. No. Seriously. WHAT IS THIS ISH ON MY LIPS it won't show up in pictures very clearly, but its there. they start out like tiny little clearish/lip colored bubbles/bumps on my lips... theres more. WTF is this. when i stretch and examine my lips i can see little specks underneath the skin or something. i think this is almost worse than acne. Im not stopping the regimen but please somebody, if you have had this and know how to get rid of it please tell me? I honestly can't leave my room. I know t
  2. Just went to a doctor and he says it looks like I'm suffering from an allergic reaction due to either retin-a or clindamycin. He reccomended I stop using both medications. Benadryl and prednisone for a few days in order to control the itching on my neck and wrists! I found out in deficient in vitamin D and many have said these supplements greatly helped their acne so here I go! Just purchased vitamin d3 with calcium. Working on changing my diet as well

  4. hey guys! a test here. considering intolerance or allergy cause active acne or zits and not just small whiteheads, blackheads etc i have taken up a test. i always thought peanuts are bad for me. for once,i had a few breakouts the day i had peanuts.but i couldnt really relate the two for it might have been hormonal or for some other reason/cause. i just a handful or peanuts. i will keep a track of whether or not i have active big zits or any other symptom in next few days(or may be 1 w
  5. So I had fine skin until this one episode where I tried the glam glow face mask and the murad skin perfecting lotion. I'm not sure which did it but my face broke out in this terrible rash, my eyes were puffy and it lasted a week. I used hydrocortisone to help it down. After that my skin got worse and worse, (also a factor, I was just in my 20's at this point...) I noticed more pimples on my chest and there were ALOT on my usually clear back. Then I noticed these small bumps in lines on my c
  6. Hi, I struggled with forehead, chin, and a little bit of cheek acne, more than a year ago. Since starting on birth control a year ago, my acne has significantly improved and when I get a way of breakouts now and again they are usually smaller, less, and easier to deal with. However recently I have broken out in these red clumps of pimples near my nose. It started with a small, barely noticable pimple on the nostril opening of my nose & quickly spread to these red, dry clumps of tiny pimpl
  7. Is Mineral Makeup Good for Acne?

All makeup contains some minerals, which are necessary for makeup to have color. Pure mineral makeup is makeup that consists only of minerals. In other words, true mineral makeup does not contain any fragrances, water, oils, waxes, or preservatives. Just minerals.1,2 Since pure mineral makeup only contains dry solids, it usually comes in the form of loose or pressed powders.1,2 However, many manufacturers today use the term "mineral makeup" loosely to market a variety of products. For...
  8. Can Laundry Detergent Cause Body Acne?

If your skin is acne-prone, you may worry that household chemicals like laundry detergent could trigger a breakout and make your body acne worse. While it's true that laundry detergent contains some harsh chemicals, the amount of these chemicals that remains on fabrics after washing, rinsing, and drying is minimal. Research suggests that such tiny amounts of detergent chemicals are safe for acne-prone skin. In other words, you can wash your clothes with regular laundry detergent...
  9. Wanted to update my forum post () with a blog which is the direction I want to take the post since I'm currently in the "experimentation" process. I was motivated to do this blog to help other people who are trying to find alternative treatments to BP as I know how frustrating it can be to find new a regimen after one has been working so well. Currrently, i'm trying a new regimen as I found that using salicylic acid wash (neutrogena oil free wash) and aha (dan's brand) resulted in many closed co
  10. Hey everyone, I've been on the Regimen for just a week. However, yesterday and today, I started having itching rashes all over my body, but my face remains clear and looks better and better each day. I think it shouldn't be benzoyl peroxide, since my face looks awesome. It might be something I ate, but I'm not sure.
  11. Hello. I was wondering if anyone on here who has tried the Acne.org products has sensitive and/or allergy prone skin? And if so, what is your experience with the product? I have skin allergies that tend to result in red, itchy rashes and hives when I use anything that isn't hypoallergenic. I've been using hypoallergenic neutrogena products for the last year with decent success and recently purchased their on-the-spot treatment (which is not hypoallergenic) as a tester before seriously conside
  12. On June 6th, my skin was really good. My stupid self decided to wash more than 7 (!) times, and after certain parts dried out, I applied WAY too much lotion, which resulted in tiny bumps. Now it's June 8th, and I'm back at square one: My face is itchy, scaly, dry, and puffy. Small bump clusters cover every inch: How can I even treat this? It feels like an allergic reaction (my upper cheekbone area is swollen) and my neck is scaly and dry Any and all help is EXTREMELY appreciated!
  13. Hi everyone, This is clearly a hefty post, so thank you to anyone who takes the time to read and comment. I'm pretty lost and don't know where else to turn. The start of this week marks my 4th week on the regimen, and my skin has never looked worse. I've never had so much active acne at once. I've been going through weird cycles where I break out like crazy, heal, break out, heal. At first I thought I was going through initial "purging", but everything has been so inconsistent and unpredicta
  14. i have been using bp for 10 days and i only have a full face of bp twice! Most of the time i focus on my acne. Now, my face is so dry it hurts and i can't apply any moisturizer because of the burning sensation! I dont know how to describe all the symtoms because english is not my first language, forgive me but right now i have the feeling that my face have become so dry, even though i have oily skin before using bp. This area is where i feel itching the most! You can see its a bit swollen as w
  15. Hello all, Just joined this sight because I wanted to get an idea of what the "general populace" of those who've dealt w/ similar issues thought. Let's see if I can sum up my experiences this past year (almost) without going into the emotional mess of it all, while also keeping it clear and concise. Here it goes: I'm 18, almost 19. Period started when I was 16 and was irregular (talking 2-5 months without one) and always light and around 1-3 days. Never really had hormonal acne and only had th
  16. Hello all, About a year ago, I was put on an acne prescription that involved the use of clindamycin and BP together. After initially buying 10% max, since it was all CVS provided, I found that it thoroughly rid of my most of my acne in a few days. However, it stung so badly that I would actually had to fidget around to deal with the pain as it wore off. Well after a three days my skin completely crusted over, I mean when I smiled my cheeks cracked. My skin completely seared together and it took
  17. I used the regimen before, and it worked wonders. I stopped and it's been about a year now and I finally went back to it and applied an application last night, I woke up this morning and my face was itching and red and burning like crazy! Even in my last hour of sleep I was waking up from the irritations. What should I do? Is this normal? For the mean time I put Vaseline on my face. I don't know if that's going to help. PLEASE HELP THIS IS URGENT!!!!

  19. Do any of you have extremely sensitive skin? My skin has such a hard time tolerating any moisturizer I've ever used for it.. even the stuff designed for sensitive skin without dyes, fragrances, ect. Even natural oils like jojoba and olive seem to irritate my skin, its weird. I have a derm appointment in 2 weeks, I just wanted to know in the meantime if any of you can relate... or have found something that works for you! (:
  20. I have done research and read about all the benefits hyaluronic acid has for the skin and I was very excited to try my new hylaluonic acid serum. Its suppose to give your skin more moisture (if used the right way) and have no side effects or "rarely" give you an allergic reaction. I purchased The Piping Rock brand since it seemed to have high ratings. the Ingredients: Demineralized Water, Vegetable Glycerin, Hyaluronic Acid, Citric Acid, Polysorbate 20, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate.
  21. This is the first topic I've made and I'm not entirely sure if it is most suited for this sub-forum, but I wasn't sure where else to put it. If it belongs somewhere else, my apologies. Firstly, if you're allergic to one of the ingredients in your topicals is it possible that you can just breakout in one place? Or should an allergic reaction be expected to occur over all the areas you put it? Secondly, is going natural (e.g. African Black Soap) really better than using chemical topicals tha
  22. So I went on birth control for a week... My skin was clear when I started; I had a very laid back regimen... only cleanser. The same day I also made the decision to stop washing my face and using products (caveman regimen) which made sense because my occasional acne was strictly due to stripping my skin of it's natural oils, leading to over production of oil, and clogged pores. When I started, my breakouts began immediately. jawline, in-between eyebrows, my skin was horrendous, and my face
  23. Hi! Never done a forum before but am really confused by this and wondering is anyone can help. I've been suffering from cystic acne since the beginning of the year and my skin has never been perfect but I've never seen anything like this. Im currently on holiday in Monaco after visiting Cannes. Waking up on the third morning I found a cluster of whiteheads around my chin. Slightly itchy and uncomfortable. It's now day four of my trip, I'm in Monaco and they seem to have got wor
  24. So I recently started using the regimen AGAIN after quitting for the first time since I started with too much and the dryness wouldn't stop. I am currently flaking A LOT and I really don't know what to do. My face gets red and the moisturizer doesn't help with neither the redness or the flakes. I los noticed that my skin is a bit puffy. Am I allergic to the BP? What are some alternatives? PLEASE REPLY SOON BEFORE I BUY ANOTHER MONTH SUPPLY + if you want to read my past experience go on my profil
  25. So, I've developed these red, itchy, spots of dermatitis around the sides of my face and around my mouth, and I think i've finally singled out benzoyl peroxide as the culprit. It's calmed down now after stopping the bp for 3 days and corticosteroids, but within 2 days of going back on the regimen the dermatitis came back in the same spots. I've been on the regimen for almost 2 years now using 2 pumps day and night and I can't explain why I am all of a sudden having these rashes. I've stopped usi
