  1. I'm still using the medication, and the dial soap I switched to a black soap from Boscia (But still switch them both on and off). Also I am using a good moisturizer. But I have notice big changes after I stopped using my medication amitriptyline maybe I should start taking it again, or is my body detoxing??? I could really use some advice on what to do...wait it out or continue my use of it?
  2. I am struggling hardcore with my skin, and at this point, I don't know what to do. I'm 19 and have had cystic acne for years, and have yet to find a skincare routine that works for me. My skin is fairly sensitive, but the acne is out of control. I am desperate for any advice on products that won't break the bank but will really help my skin's appearance. If you guys could *please* give me your best recommendations, I would be so appreciative. I don't have any products that I swear by; I'm lookin

    Question

QUESTION: Question for the guys out there. I know you aren't supposed to pop/pick whiteheads while on Accutane (because of scaring). But, what do you do when shaving? I have to keep a clean shaven face for work. Of course when I shave, the white heads break open...pretty gross, I know! LOL Just wondering if anyone has advice for shaving the face while on Accutane..?? PS. this Accutane journey kinda sucks..haha but hey I guess it will all be worth it! (better be!) staying positive
  4. Hi, I am new on here and with posting in general. I figured I'd just share something I tried recently that I don't see has been written about much so I thought to recommend others to consider trying what had recently helped me primarily with cystic acne but also moderate acne from hormone changes due to significant stress and just getting older, Im 33. My face would just start to itch before a break out and all this acne consistency is new to me (past year) and I am the type to research and tr
  5. Hey people, i've wrote a new article on how to get rid of a spot overnight!! Go read please. *Moderator edit, URL removed - read the board rules*
  6. Hi, So its almost been 2 years since I last posted on Acne.org and kind of feel that I owe the community something after it helped me so much in my time of need. First off my name is Tim and in January 2010 i started a years course of accutane finishing this January gone (2011). My dosage at first was 20mg which then rose to 60/80mg then gradually back down towards the end of my treatment. I found life on accutane very, very hard. The drug is a BITCH, but at times we need a bitch to put us
  7. so a few years ago i started using acne.org to treat my acne. and it did help and was continuing to use it as my maintainance since i always always break out.(its in my blood,my father side has a history with acne) but i stop last february for a month. THIS PICTURE IS TAKEN LAST FEB.just a few bumbs.freak out and afraid i might get the worst if i dont act again after a month of not using acne.org so i did order and use it again. after the course of three months my skin gets worst.my confidence
  8. Hello everyone,Let me start by giving a quick summary of my acne. At around 15 I started getting the occasional pimple her and there, but never anything too serious. However, about two and a half years ago when I was 17 years old my acne worsened dramatically. Within a matter of a couple months of this first big breakout, it got to the point where I felt the need to see a dermatologist. My derma prescribed me a mixture of Clindamycin Phosphate and Benzoyl Peroxide. This helped to initially calm t
  9. Hey Everyone! Long story short, I’m an incredibly pale 23 year old female who has been experiencing consistent and persistent acne for the last 4 years. I would classify my acne as moderate to severe and since I’m so pale it looks a lot worse. Every spot leaves pigmentation and scarring which makes my skin look so much worse. Anyway, I had recently seen a dermatologist who suggested I go on accutane. Maximum I would be taking Accutane for a year on a low dosage. My concerns ar
  10. Seriously losing the will to live with my acne. It’s a joke! I’ve had acne since I was 18 and I’m now 25 going on 26!!! I’ve tried literally everything and my only option left is accutane but I really really don’t want to go on it because I have a phobia of blood and needles so I couldn’t deal with the monthly blood test’s needed. I’ve used both benzoyl peroxide and Retinoids like Differen none have helped. I even went on the contraceptive pill to see if that helped and it didn’t
  11. i already have a problem with picking at my skin unintentionally, and yesterday i tried taking a bobby pin and using it to pop my black heads, my skin was clear besides a few pimples and black heads on my nose. so i took the bobby pin and all i know was that i started popping them at 4am and ended at 3pm (a long time), and my skin was really red and my pores were huge, which i'm guessing is from me scraping at my skin to get the blackheads out. i took a shower after and my face looked really bad
  12. Hello everybody. Before I start acne took over my life and those who have it really know what I'm talking about... It's difficult to post a picture so I'm going to ask you the severity of my face. It's all genetics for me as my dad had very problematic skin during his teenage years. I sometimes don't leave the house due to the redness.. which drugstore products would be really helpful for my type of skin..? - it gets really oily at the end of the day - kind of sensitive - a little bit te
  13. Hi all, I'm having the worst breakout of my entire life and I'm on my second month of Accutane. Ive never had cystic acne in my life and I'm starting to get it. It's so bad that its painful to smile or move any part of my face really. I don't see my dermatologist for another week or so. Does anyone have any advice on how to handle a breakout during Accutane? I've just been making sure to wash all my makeup off, gently cleanse and use a lot of Cetaphil lotion on my face. Do I just have to wait
  14. Hello everyone, so I'll get straight to the point. For about 2-3 years ago my skin started to show up acne behavior although i never had pimples or blackheads or stuff like that in my face. Just to point that I'm 21 years old and this started to happen after i got 17-18..At 18 i had an accident with my bicycle (I crashed and got a bit skinned on the right cheek and got some scars as you can see on picture 1). Anyways i got healed up upon time but now I'm facing this problem..I want some advises
  15. I've had these whiteheads (I think that's what they are) under my skin on my cheek for over a year now and I tried pushing them out long before but nothing came out. What are these and how do I get them out?? It's been irritating me now since it's been blemishing my face for so long. My mom suggested I get a needle and poke it out like that, but I don't think that's safe. It feels like a ball under my skin that like directly under my skin but covered up and moves it's my skin.
  16. I just ordered the acne treatment regimen for the face will arrive in a few days. I am hoping this will work to clear up my skin, feeling optimistic. I do see that acne.org has a seperate wash just for the body, is anyone using that? I read from a peer reviewed article that you can infact use the same acne wash on your face onto your whole body. Is anyone else using the face wash on their body instead of buying two different treatments? I also would like to know of the side affects that actually
  17. What tips and advice can you guys give me to prevent scarring and make the journey more tolerable? Please, keep it short and sweet. <3 Thanks
  18. Hi everyone! I just ordered my kit along with both the jojoba oil and the aha treatment and I will be starting it very soon. My question is about using makeup while on the regimen. I know it recommends not using makeup, but that just isn't possible for me in the type of job I have. I currently use clinique stay matte with a real techniques beauty blender type sponge. I feel like I have acne cosmetica on my chin because of it. I was looking at switching to Cover FX liquid foundation because its
  19. Hello, I've had acne since I was 9 years old and I'm soon approaching 20. Currently, my acne is just mild and mainly consists of just small pimples, though I frequently breakout on the left and right-hand sides of my face and my forehead, and occasionally on my chin. I also have extremely sensitive skin which means I have to be cautious about what I use (for example, SLS/SLES makes my hands breakout in an itchy rash, so I don't want to risk using products containing them on my face). At the
  20. I started the regimen maybe a little over a month ago. At first it wasn't doing anything besides irritating my skin and sort of making it worse, then out of no where it started clearing me up, I was clear for a week tops. My breakouts started acting up again. I wasn't doing anything different I was following the regimen step by step. I don't really get why it's starting to get bad again, I mean my sleep has been a bit off I'm quite the insomniac but I don't really think that has anything to do w
  21. Hi everyone, I am little worried as I am using products which contain salicylic acid and a product which contains glycolic acid. My cleanser and moisturiser contain salicyclic acid whilst my exfoliator contains glycolic acid. Please advise if this will cause problems. Thank you.
  22. Okay, so I have mild to moderate acne, mostly around my mouth and cheeks in form of whiteheads. I have very sensitive skin that gets dry and peels very easily. I was prescribed benzaclin about two years ago and used it sparingly, and it helped my skin but recently my skin has started to get not so good again. I went to the doc and was prescribed Retin-A Micro and Benzaclin again. What I usually do is wash my face with salicylic acid in the morning, moisturize with SPF, and at night use a BP/sa
  23. I have said this in many of my other posts on this website but I will say it again for those of you who have not read my other posts. Almost 4 months ago I started a new birth control called ortho try cyclin. I went on it strictly for bad Cramps and acne. Before the birth control my acne was mild to moderate. Now almost finishing my fourth month I have the worst skin I have ever had and I need your help. I am left with the worst red marks from pimples that have left my skin almost 2 to 3 month
  24. Hello guys I need advice. I've struggled with acne a couple of years now and it does seem to get worse. My genetics have apparently blessed me with large pores and bad skin in general (see attachments). I've tried the regimen but it didn't help. It made my skin more oily and the pores more visible. Pore strips have a rather negative reputation since many people say that they only make the pores larger, something which I absolutely don't want to happen. Can you give me advice on products
  25. Im on mo.2 of accutane and am taking 80mg a day - 1 in the morning 1 at night. its a pretty high dose in my opinion, but whatever works... However, I'm getting some real possible side effects now. I got 3 nose bleeds in one day, I'm having moderate back pain, feeling weak, and every part of my body BUT MY FACE decides to lock in moisture. My face is peeling and scabbing like no other. On top of that, even though I'm constantly lubricating my lips with chapstick ("carmex healing" and other va
