  1. So, as a little disclaimer: this topic probably isn't helpful, but I just thought that for those of you who are on the regimen or are looking into it, here's a piece of reality for you. The reality is: You will, at one point, be faced with a situation like this. You casually walk over to your sink, or wherever you store your skincare products. Then, you realize one of your products has completely run out. In my case, this was the moisturizer. I have no idea what to do, I can't moisturize my sk
  2. hi everyone. i am a 22 year old female and i have been struggling with acne since I was about 12 years old...that is almost half my life after trying EVERYTHING from over the counter lotions and potions, cleansers, spot treatments, lush, origins, cvs, etc etc, and prescribed treatments that would just burn my skin or irritate it, nothing has really worked. I have also tried doxycycline and minocycline and they did not work either. I am pretty much just fed up and exhausted from all these failur
  3. Hi all, I'm looking for advice from any and all who read this. I'm currently a 24 year old male who has struggled with moderate acne/oily skin for 10 years. Like most, I've tried dozens of products and I'm currently using clindamicyne with retin a-micro which has given me good results. However, after all of the products I've tried, nothing has given me "clear skin" (including my current regimen). At any given time I have at least one pimple/whitehead/cyst along with a half dozen dark spots.
  4. Hi everyone, I just started a 6-8 month course of accutane and I am on day 5 right now. I am an active person and I lift weights so I need protein on a daily basis. I just purchased the PhD Body Scultp range, Diet whey and I was wondering if anyone knows if it is okay to drink whey protein while being on accutane . The ingredients are: whey protein concentrate (27%), milk protein concentrate (26% of which 56% is micellar casein), soya protein isolate, cocoa powder, waxy barley starch,
  5. New to the board. I am 32 years old, have had scars for the past 10 years. I got use to having them but lately they been bothering me. I uploaded some pics in this post. I feel they look much worse in those shots then they do in a mirror but it is what it. I am not sure what treatment may be right for me and what doctor I could see. I did some research on this board and i think i have ice pick and rolling scars along with some hyper pigmentation. I read about the Fraxel repair
  6. Hello - I recently signed up on this board so that I could seek advice regarding my skin. Summertime is here, and its especially troubling to see my skin when pool parties, etc are approaching and it becomes much more difficult to hide it. I am currently struggling with headless, multiple zits along my hairline, that have started to extend down the side of my face on one side. Some do have a small, visible white head. I have also struggled with small whiteheads or headless bumps on my chin,
  7. I have been using Benzoyl Peroxide religiously for about 2 years to treat my mild/moderate acne. I've gone from using 0.1% only at night, to using 2.5% morning & night, to using 2.5% just at night... and let me say, it honestly has done wonders for my skin. However, it is such a hassle to keep up with. I've been so afraid to break out again that I haven't gone off of it since. I wish that I would've tried other methods of treating acne before I started using BP. If any of you guys have any
  8. I might as well start at the beginning when i lived out in England i had not bad acne at all well so people said but i don't know just seeing red spots on my face i dint like so i thought i was ugly and never really felt i could love myself or go out and do fun things even though i had like maybe 5 zits but then when i moved to Canada it started to get bad i moved form a normal acne person to mild acne to severe acne once i got severe she put me on acctane instead of having me on some cream i fo
  9. To retinol or not to retinol, that is the question. So, I am thinking about starting a new regimen for some skincare concerns I have (mainly hyperpigmentation and scarring but also anti-aging related issues too) and I want to try using Retinol, but I need some advice. I have ethnic, oily, acne prone, sensitive skin and my current skincare routine consists of a cleanser, a moisturiser and a sunscreen (I use Cetaphil for everything), also I exfoliate gently with a hand towel every now and then
  10. Hi Everyone, I'm wondering if anyone has/had a similar issue to the photos I'm showing.. I have these tiny bumps (some are hard like whiteheads), along my jawline and on my forehead.. right after a shower I can squeeze some stuff out of them and the bumps will go down.. but I'm not gonna do that all over my face because I'll definitely end up with a few pimples the next day (as you can see this is a main cause of the redness and pimples on my forehead). I also deal with a bit of hormonal acne
  11. Two months ago: today: So this girly needs some advice from women who have or are suffering from hormonal acne and have used birth control to control their acne breakouts. Background: I have suffered from anorexia for the last 6 years (since I was 16) and due to this I have never properly had my periods, only the occasional one every now and again. However since maintaining my weight, still low but healthy enough (BMI 15, if that is any help to anyone), I have had a massive hormonal breakou

  13. Hi everyone! I’m a 26 year old female who is about to start the Accutane treatment for 6 months. I’ve struggled with acne my entire life and thought it would clear up by the time I graduated college. No such luck for me. I finally went to a dermatologist and I’m going to be starting Accutane next month. I’m excited to finally take care of this acne (hopefully once and for all) but after doing some research, I have a few concerns and questions. Some background you should know: -I suffer fr

    Please Help Me :/

I have literally tried every product and nothing seems to work anymore. Nothing helps at all and frankly its starting to piss me off, I have very sensitive skin so its not like I can use any cleanser. I also have a small problem with oily skin as well. I've tried a few home remedies such as baking soda, witch hazel and the lemon remedy, but those haven't worked.I wash my face once to twice a day with clean and clear for sensitive skin. But sadly this doesn't work and the other clean and clear pr

I cannot seem to get rid of these horrible white heads on my forehead...ugh! Nothing has seemed to help it. I do not wear my hair in my face..and should I stop using my moisturizer? I use Lush's gorgeous moisturizer. Any advice will be helpful...maybe I am using too many products?
  16. Hi I’m every new here! im 18, at uni, healthy sporty and arty guy and I’ve been struggling with acne for 6 years and it’s at it’s worse and it’s killing everything I care about and love. I’ve been to the doctors a gazillion times and nothing works apart from Nicam (freederm) occasionally however the spots keep coming, bigger, redder, more painful and leaves scaring and pigmentation all over the place. 18. Hey everyone, This is quite a random question but I would love to hear others personal experiences in regards to treating your acne scars whilst you have facial peircings. I have a piercing that is unable to be removed and I’m wondering whether this would have an impact on getting any scar removal treatments like laser or CO2. Apologies, I’m not really familiar with treatments and the requirements. If I were to get any laser treatments, I only wish my cheeks to be treated since that’s where
  19. Some quick background about my acne story: I am 22 years old and have struggled with moderate cystic acne since i was about 15 years old. I have been seeing a dermatologist who prescribed me Accutane 3 times over the past 6 years; a 6-month, 3-month, and another 3-month duration respectively. Each time the acne would be "cured" and then flare up again about a year or so after treatment. The issue: Today I visited a new dermatologist who thinks that my previous dermatologist had "under-prescr
  20. Hello, im 15 years old and i do not experience crazy acne, but i have these kind of colorless bumps on my forehead and I've had them for quiet sometime i want to say maybe 2 years. they haven't gone away and i don't know why. I have dry skin for the most part but sometimes my forehead gets oily from my moisturizer but if i don't moisturize its too dry. I read somewhere that maybe the oil and dandruff from my hair could be a cause of this so i started to use dandruff shampoo on my clarasonic for
  21. Hi all, So my boyfriend has been on accutane for around 6 months, we've been dating for about 2.5 of those months. Recently (last month or so) he's been getting very tired, very stressed and generally pretty moody. Big contrast to how he was at the start/middle of our relationship. His friend who is also on accutane reckons it's the tane that's causing this. He seems pretty disengaged and grumpy. What are your personal experiences with tane with regards to mood etc.?
  22. So I have just started Retin a micro 3 weeks ago and of course I am purging.. Can anyone give some advice or some support.. Did Retin a clear you.. Can I put it in my nose creases to get rid of white head and clogged pores.. Will the sunburnt look ever go away? Just any advice would be great right now.
  23. Hello! I realise there's a lot of topics on this product already, but none really anwser my particular predicament. A question to people who have used the 2% BHA liquid from Paula's Choice. I don't have inflamed acne, and never did, except when I was a young teenager but it passed on it's own. However, since then I've been left with blackheads and whiteheads everywhere on my face ONLY... And my whiteheads I mean the small flesh coloured bumps, with no head, no puss in them, unless squeezed
  24. Background info / my skin story so far: I am a girl in my mid teens. I’ve had a proper skincare routine since I was 10, so my skin was pretty good in my early teen years. I started developing a few spots and blackheads at around 12, which gradually got worse. They began to bother me a year later, so I started to use 'for acne-prone skin' products on my face, but they only seemed to make my face oilier. Then I found out about the oil cleansing method, how oil dissolves oil, and it just made
  25. Hello everyone,So I have been referring to people's advice on this website for years and have never actually posted myself. I'm in the process of trying to decide which contraception method to go with, so I figured I would get advice from people who actually understand! I've suffered with acne on & off for about 12 years now, I've had periods where it's been extremely bad and also periods of having completely clear skin. In the midst of all this, I have tried topical treatments, antibiotics,
