    Stagnant Cyst

Hi, I recently got a cortisone shot about 2.5 weeks ago for a cyst (no pain) on my cheek. After about 3-5 days it has gone completely flat, but still purple/reddish. About a week after I got the cortisone shot, I noticed that the cyst has started to pop up again in the same spot and become red. Also another cyst/nodule right next to it (that was there previously) started to sprout as well. I was prescribed Acanya (again) and Aczone. Been putting Acanya just on the cyst and don't see any real i
  2. So this is a random question but I feel like my acne left me with a lot of emotional problems. First of all when I had acne (now i only have some scarring left) I was always anxious to be in bad lighting and stuff like that. So i guess after so much constant worrying i still feel social anxiety bc it was so common to me before that it hasn't gone away even if the original problem is gone. Is there any way to get rid of this other than seeing a doctor? because I don't want any anxiety pills AT
  3. Hi Everyone, First of all, I'm new here and love the supportive community! Medication: 3-step La Roche Posay Efflaclar Anti Blemish System (Comes with a purying foaming gel, Toner and Efflaclar Duo+ Moisturiser) Daily - Washing my face x2 a day with this routine. Evening - Using Isotrexin gel and x1 Lymecycline tablet (scared to stop since last time I broke out really bad...) I've tried so many different products but my acne is more on the mild - moderate range but it's get
  4. Hi guys I've been using differin cream 0.1% for about 2 weeks now, every third night and I've definitely been getting a lot more acne then usual. I've read everywhere that it gets worse before it gets better but I just wondered how long it's taken people to get past the " purging" stage!? I was so worried about this happening which is why I reduced it to every third night instead of everynight anyone's advice or help is extremely welcomed and helpful!
  5. Hi im thinking about going on accutane, a low dose but the problem is is that I suffer with depression. I’m on medication for it but I’m worried they will say I can’t go on accutane as it’s a side effect that it could get much worse

    Day 1

Day 1: Just picked up first prescription (30 pills) at the pharmacy. Not name brand. Came home, took first- big- pill at 5:30 pm on empty stomach. Not sure dosage, will check later. Previously been prescribed on 10% BP once a day in the morning and topical isotretinoin once a day at night. Okay results over about 2 or 3. Scarring is my main problem, especially on cheeks ; everything always scars regardless. Topical iso reduced the size and darkness/redness of them a little but definitely did no
  7. I need advice. Earlier last December before I got my first period my skin started to change. It like so oily and my pores got huge. I started breaking out on my chin. It spread to my jawline. Then my forehead. Then my cheeks. I'm emotionally devastated. Today I am having my second period and the nightmare has gotten worse. It's all over my face and now on my back and shoulders. My mom is sending me to a dermatologist on Saturday. I can't articulate how just destroyed I am. Today at schoo

Hi everyone! I haven't tried this product yet but I'm going to get it soon. I was just wondering if this is too harsh if your skin is not VERY VERY bad? And also does it close your pores and remove whiteheads and blackheads? Does your skin peel really badly? I'm so excited to try this regimen but at the same time I want to be realistic and prepare myself. Thank you!!!
  9. I used to see a dermatologist but I stopped because of family insurance problems. My dermatologist gave me pills that helped clear my skin so much! But I can’t get a refill anymore. Since then I continued using the Epiduo Forte she prescribed for the morning and Veltin with Flurandrenolide Lotion USP 0.05% at night. ( This medication is used on the skin to treat acne. This medication is a combination of adapalene (a retinoid) and benzoyl peroxide (an antibiotic and skin-peeling agent). This prod
  10. I found my 5th grade promotion pictures while looking in my closet and it made me realize just how long I've been struggling with acne and just how much it's affected my self-esteem. Having acne forced me to be more self aware and I've tried every home remedy and face wash you could think of only to end up in the same place. I don't really know what it's like to have clear enough skin to be confident without makeup or to make eye contact with someone without assuming they're thinking the worse.

    Day 6

So today is day 6 of my Accutane journey. So far I've been breaking out more than usual, so I guess that is part of the initial break out, or at least I hope so. I'm experiencing a lot of little whiteheads around my lips and chin...annoying because they stand out so much, but hopefully that will improve! Did a lot of you guys stay on antibiotics while starting Accutane? I haven't experienced really dry skin or dry lips yet. I however did get a red face from being outside. The weather has been g
  12. So a few months ago I had the worst breakout I've ever had in my life. I'm not sure if it was random or due to some treatments that I was trying at the time. I stopped doing everything. I went straight caveman regimen to try and help and it seemed like it helped a little. The only things I do now is use tamanu oil for HIP and I've been taking some vitamins and I even went and bought a filtered showerhead for my shower to help filter the water I use on my face. It just seems like nothing I'm doin
  13. In university during the first few months, I broke out TERRIBLY. And whatever I did, the breakouts wouldn't stop. I tried all kinds of treatments from switching my cleansing routine to using over the counter products, to even trying toothpaste or green tea teabags...all which seem now, in hindsight, to be grave errors because when the breakouts finally cleared up, I was left with atrophic/pitted scars and hyperpigmentation on my cheeks, from under my cheekbones to around just above my chin. Accutane Journey / Accutane Log

This is my first post. so hello everyone! I am 23 years old and have been dealing with acne since high school, i have tried almost every topical, pill, otc, prescription, diet, and home remedy you can think of. I am 5'4" and weigh 110lbs. I am just looking for support, advice, and comments as I go through this accutane journey. I am 19 days in and will be on accutane for a total of 5 months. During the first week of 40mg my skin was doing well, it seemed to clear up a little bit and the oil was
  15. Hi guys! Time sure flies by. I've been on The Regimen for 6 months now and it has been one of those decisions that I really pride myself in making. Woot woot! I've been clear for almost 4 months expect for a spot or two every now and then. I still think that is entirely better then what my face used to be. I guess now what I am trying to do is figure out if I can cut the BP application to once a day. I've read many a post about how some of you guys only apply BP once a day and I'm really cur

    Flaky Skin, Help!

Ok, I've been on the Acne.org Regimen for 5 months. It's time consuming, it's tough, and absolutely does not fit in with your schedule if you are on the go much. However, the only reason I've continued to do it is because it's given me clear skin, which is what I wanted in the first place. However, the cons at the moment are catching up to the pros. My skin is dry, and very flaky all the time. Every time I go swimming and get out of the water, within minutes my skin is peeling off and everyone n
  17. I have mild acne and large pores from coconut oil. I was on acne.org's regimen but I didn't like the BP and I did my research and leaned it was horrible for your skin in the long run. So I bumped into TTO. I mixed it with witchhazel and applied on my face as a toner. For some reason, I ditched the witch hazel and added tea tree oil in she butter as a moitsturizer. Then I stopped that and then started adding TTO on my skin by itself before apply AHA. OMG my skin is soooooooo dry now. I have oil/c
  18. I began to struggle with acne when I was about 15 years old. During my senior year of high school, I was started on my first dose of Accutane, which was successful in clearing my acne. However, I had to stop taking the medication after 5 months because I was experiencing severe irritability and depression. I experienced terrible panic attacks for the next four years, and my acne returned, full force. During my senior year of college, I reluctantly chose to go on Accutane once again.
  19. This is so embarassing. Ive been taking care of my skin more than ever. And while my breakouts dont occur as often anymore my skin i just.getting oilier oilier. I wash my face day and night. By the time.i wake up its so oily already! I moisturize too. Im honestly so embarassed and disgusted by my pores. They used to only be barely in my t zone when i was like 18. Ik now only 22 and this kills me inside. Please help. These pics show my cheeks and notice how far down they go. tthey look worse. In
  20. Dealing with the emotional side effects of having bad skin This time last year I couldn't look my Dad in the eye, my skin was the worst it had ever been and my confidence rapidly shattered. I couldn't bare the pain of waking up each and every morning, walking into the bathroom, not turning the light on, looking into the mirror and having to look at my acne-ridden skin. Some days were better than others, some days there would be no new heads and like most days I would see a cluster of new pust
  21. please help, since the young age of 12 I've been suffering from nodular/cystic acne on my chin. These pimples get huge and always form a head. I've changed my diet, only drink water, no dairy, sugar or gluten, I recently started taking omega 3, turmeric, zinc, and vitex! I've taken vitex before and it cleared my acne for 8 weeks and then it came back(I wasn't eating healthy back hen! I've taken birth control and that cleared all my acne except I still got a huge cyst before my period. Lately I'v
  22. So I was on Zarah (generic of Yasmin) for over 4 months and it gave me horrible acne, like all over my face. I normally only got 2 pimples a month before starting Zarah (which is supposed to be good for acne). Anyway, I couldn't take it anymore and I quit. I've been off it for almost 3 months now and I'm still having horrible, painful acne. It got much better 2-3 weeks after quitting but it hasn't got any better since. I still have several new pimples a day, they're just not as big as they were
  23. Please someone help me. I have done all I can do reduce and prevent my acne, along with treating my scars. I have starting drinking plenty of water, using lemon juice, witch hazel, exfoliating, face masks. Along with these, I maintain a gentle skin care routine. I don't know how to heal my face.. can anyone further advise me? I have combination skin. I also have much more cystic acne than regular surfaced acne, which is where the scarring comes from. the acne is mostly on my cheeks but I also do
  24. I am in my first month of accutane and I hate it so far. I was able to slow down how dry I am already as I kept over moisturizing right when I started. But right now I am going through the first initial break out and I have never been in so much pain. This is unlike any there break out. This is extremely cystic and I have multiple at once. I have been doing warm compresses, ice, applying apple cider vinegar, hydrocortisone cream, etc. And onceI get rid of one, many others appear. How can I preve
