    A Solution?

I've had flaky skin from BP for 8 months and I can't take it anymore, so I am changing up the regimen to meet my needs, and I want everyone's advice and input. I'm willing to do ANYTHING to stop my skin from flaking. (btw I suffer from acne, so using too little bp I will break out) WHAT I DO NOW: Mornin': Cleanser, 1 pump BP, 2 pumps moisturizer + 5 drops of jojoba Night: Same thing WHAT I USE: CeraVe foaming facial cleanser, acne.org bp, cerave moisturizing lotion, acne.org jojoba oil W

    Roaccutane Diary

Hi everyone, I'm a 16 year old and have recently been prescribed Roaccutane. I have decided to keep a diary of my progress for people who aren't sure whether or not Roaccutane is for them. Personally I was looking forward to going on the drug. I was so sick of my skin as I have had ongoing spots since I was 12/13, but my skin got really bad since last year. Previously I had tried every product known to get rid of spots but none of them worked. I was using a skincare salicylic acid wash given

    Is my acne that bad?

Hello everybody. Before I start acne took over my life and those who have it really know what I'm talking about... It's difficult to post a picture so I'm going to ask you the severity of my face. It's all genetics for me as my dad had very problematic skin during his teenage years. I sometimes don't leave the house due to the redness.. which drugstore products would be really helpful for my type of skin..? - it gets really oily at the end of the day - kind of sensitive - a little bit te
  4. Hello guys I need advice. I've struggled with acne a couple of years now and it does seem to get worse. My genetics have apparently blessed me with large pores and bad skin in general (see attachments). I've tried the regimen but it didn't help. It made my skin more oily and the pores more visible. Pore strips have a rather negative reputation since many people say that they only make the pores larger, something which I absolutely don't want to happen. Can you give me advice on products
  5. Hi everyone. I'm jena, 21 years old and i have light acne. I'm using tea tree oil every night for my acne for like 3 weeks now and so far it's working. It dries up my pimples. But i was wondering 'cause I'm not using any moisturizer, is it okay if I use 100% Aloe Vera as moisturizer for my face (night and day routine) while i use tea tree oil on my acne spots? Is it safe? Thank you so much!
  6. I have said this in many of my other posts on this website but I will say it again for those of you who have not read my other posts. Almost 4 months ago I started a new birth control called ortho try cyclin. I went on it strictly for bad Cramps and acne. Before the birth control my acne was mild to moderate. Now almost finishing my fourth month I have the worst skin I have ever had and I need your help. I am left with the worst red marks from pimples that have left my skin almost 2 to 3 month
  7. Hey I'm 16 Female. I've been having pimple/acne since I was 12. I have pretty oily skin. Never dry. I have been using drugstore facial cleanser, toner and moisturizer when I start getting pimples. Awhile ago, I came across the caveman regimen or the water only regimen. I started last month and my skin is getting worst at that month. About 20+ days, my face started getting itchy. I couldnt bear with the itchiness, so I used a facial cleanser to wash my face. WORST MISTAKE. My face is al
  8. Seriously losing the will to live with my acne. It’s a joke! I’ve had acne since I was 18 and I’m now 25 going on 26!!! I’ve tried literally everything and my only option left is accutane but I really really don’t want to go on it because I have a phobia of blood and needles so I couldn’t deal with the monthly blood test’s needed. I’ve used both benzoyl peroxide and Retinoids like Differen none have helped. I even went on the contraceptive pill to see if that helped and it didn’t
  9. I've had these whiteheads (I think that's what they are) under my skin on my cheek for over a year now and I tried pushing them out long before but nothing came out. What are these and how do I get them out?? It's been irritating me now since it's been blemishing my face for so long. My mom suggested I get a needle and poke it out like that, but I don't think that's safe. It feels like a ball under my skin that like directly under my skin but covered up and moves it's my skin.
  10. Okay, so I have mild to moderate acne, mostly around my mouth and cheeks in form of whiteheads. I have very sensitive skin that gets dry and peels very easily. I was prescribed benzaclin about two years ago and used it sparingly, and it helped my skin but recently my skin has started to get not so good again. I went to the doc and was prescribed Retin-A Micro and Benzaclin again. What I usually do is wash my face with salicylic acid in the morning, moisturize with SPF, and at night use a BP/sa

    Help!

Hello everyone, I am new to this website but I have been finding it really helpful in the last hour that I joined. I am 16 years old, and I know that is young for this type of site but i need helpful advice! I had mild to moderate acne in 8th grade, and the summer going into 9th. I got put on liquid medications to put on in the morning and before bed from the dermatologist, but i wasn't finding that they were improving my skin at all. So, as it got worse and i got more self conscious about it, I

Going To Give This A Try

I just ordered the acne treatment regimen for the face will arrive in a few days. I am hoping this will work to clear up my skin, feeling optimistic. I do see that acne.org has a seperate wash just for the body, is anyone using that? I read from a peer reviewed article that you can infact use the same acne wash on your face onto your whole body. Is anyone else using the face wash on their body instead of buying two different treatments? I also would like to know of the side affects that actually
  13. Hey Everyone! Long story short, I’m an incredibly pale 23 year old female who has been experiencing consistent and persistent acne for the last 4 years. I would classify my acne as moderate to severe and since I’m so pale it looks a lot worse. Every spot leaves pigmentation and scarring which makes my skin look so much worse. Anyway, I had recently seen a dermatologist who suggested I go on accutane. Maximum I would be taking Accutane for a year on a low dosage. My concerns ar
  14. Hello, long time browser first time posting! So I guess I'll go into a short bio- I've suffered with acne since I was about 11 years old. I used to have horrible cysts, would cancel plans, the worst self esteem--it was bad. I went on Accutane in 2012 and it did wonders for my skin. After 6 months of treatment my derm took me off of it because I was clear. My acne then crept up later in the year and I was put back on Accutane and again it worked its magic. However, my acne has just recently c
  15. I have combination skin, (oily in t-zone and dry on cheeks) I exfoliate twice a day, is that to much? my skin is so oily and even after applying an oil-free moisturiser after exfoliating ( I heard oily skin is due to over-excessively dry skin ) hence the moisturiser. I'm going to cut back to exfoliating once a day in the evening but what do I use in the morning?!?! I dont know wether I should buy a cleanser but I have no idea if that helps and what even is it? I would really appreciate some advi

    Makeup advice

Hi everyone! I just ordered my kit along with both the jojoba oil and the aha treatment and I will be starting it very soon. My question is about using makeup while on the regimen. I know it recommends not using makeup, but that just isn't possible for me in the type of job I have. I currently use clinique stay matte with a real techniques beauty blender type sponge. I feel like I have acne cosmetica on my chin because of it. I was looking at switching to Cover FX liquid foundation because its

    Advice on My Acne

Hey everyone, I'm new here. My name is Jamal. I'm 19. I started having acne when I was probably around 12-13 years old and of course I've had it ever since. I was one of the unfortunate ones in my family to get hit by it. Before I would get just a pimple or two here and there but they'd be large on the downside. But now it's widespread all across my face. However on the bright side they aren't massive. I'm assuming I have moderate acne at the moment. So, I'm looking for tips. What can I do for
  18. What tips and advice can you guys give me to prevent scarring and make the journey more tolerable? Please, keep it short and sweet. <3 Thanks
  19. Hello everyone, so I'll get straight to the point. For about 2-3 years ago my skin started to show up acne behavior although i never had pimples or blackheads or stuff like that in my face. Just to point that I'm 21 years old and this started to happen after i got 17-18..At 18 i had an accident with my bicycle (I crashed and got a bit skinned on the right cheek and got some scars as you can see on picture 1). Anyways i got healed up upon time but now I'm facing this problem..I want some advises
  20. Im on mo.2 of accutane and am taking 80mg a day - 1 in the morning 1 at night. its a pretty high dose in my opinion, but whatever works... However, I'm getting some real possible side effects now. I got 3 nose bleeds in one day, I'm having moderate back pain, feeling weak, and every part of my body BUT MY FACE decides to lock in moisture. My face is peeling and scabbing like no other. On top of that, even though I'm constantly lubricating my lips with chapstick ("carmex healing" and other va

Shaving And Mild To Severe Acne

Shaving and acne I personally think that this is a very important topic; an anonymous user posted the question on the last post about shaving. Here is my take on it, Happy New year to everyone as well! To start, i'm only 15, which means I don't have a massive experience with shaving in my life, but I have had experience with shaving with severe acne. I have noticed that the less severe my acne has been, the better experience I have had with shaving; less bleeding, less after-math of inflammati
  22. Hi all, I'm having the worst breakout of my entire life and I'm on my second month of Accutane. Ive never had cystic acne in my life and I'm starting to get it. It's so bad that its painful to smile or move any part of my face really. I don't see my dermatologist for another week or so. Does anyone have any advice on how to handle a breakout during Accutane? I've just been making sure to wash all my makeup off, gently cleanse and use a lot of Cetaphil lotion on my face. Do I just have to wait
  23. I started the regimen maybe a little over a month ago. At first it wasn't doing anything besides irritating my skin and sort of making it worse, then out of no where it started clearing me up, I was clear for a week tops. My breakouts started acting up again. I wasn't doing anything different I was following the regimen step by step. I don't really get why it's starting to get bad again, I mean my sleep has been a bit off I'm quite the insomniac but I don't really think that has anything to do w
  24. Hi everyone, I am little worried as I am using products which contain salicylic acid and a product which contains glycolic acid. My cleanser and moisturiser contain salicyclic acid whilst my exfoliator contains glycolic acid. Please advise if this will cause problems. Thank you.
