  1. I have been dealing with acne since I was about 14, and I am 24 now. I tried every antibiotic, topical, pill, gel, cream, facials and even accutane at age 15. Accutane worked WONDERS. I had beautiful clear baby soft skin in a matter of months. I never wore a drop of makeup. Then somewhere around the age of 20-21 my skin got dramatically worse. I began getting stubborn cyst-like pimples that wouldn't go away no matter what I did. I cut out dairy, became a pescetarian, took tons of vitamins daily,
  2. Hey y’all, ive had acne my whole life. It’s genetic. The earliest memories I have of my mom is her gouging plugs from her face and by the time I was 13 I was doing the same. My skin has improved from birth control pills, but due to harsh side effects I had to stop. retinol has been very helpful, but I still have flare ups! My issue is the type of acne I have. My pores produce HUGE sebaceous filaments that get inflamed. After a shower I will use a black head remover and the hugest plug

    Ziana Gel

My progress on Ziana Gel. Ive attached pictures to show how my skin looks after every week or so. I started Ziana December 1 2014, I experienced burning sensation sometimes due to using too much of the product. Not too much peeling, but I have oily skin. I didn't experience dryness, again due to oily skin..I believe. Ziana started working for me instantly. Reduced breakouts and helped breakouts heal faster, also helped dark spots shrink at a decent pace. Since using Ziana, I dont have t
  4. Hi guys and girls! I'm 28 and have been suffering with acne on and off for over 10 years. I've attached some pics of my current outbreak. I've pretty much been on every medication available except Roaccutane. The only medication i've used in the past which has completely cleared my skin long term is Dianette. However my doctor will not prescribe me this anymore as I occasionally have migranes with aura and apparently this heightens my chance of a stroke. VERY FRUSTRATING My curren
  5. Let's see I guess i'll start off by giving you a little idea of who I am. I'm a twenty something year old who works with dogs in sunny Southern California. I enjoy everything the outdoors has to offer. My favorite things to do are hiking, camping, backpacking, rock climbing, kayaking You name it! I've always struggled with hormonal acne, but not until a couple years ago I started breaking out with tiny little nodules under my skin, and soon they spread ALL over my cheeks, and chin. Thanks t
  6. PROGRESS Two weeks ago (Day 154) I reported that the left side of my face was very clear while the right side was still "catching up". I have not had any [major] pimples on the left side of my face since writing that. The right side of my face has since had a pretty ugly breakout 1-2 big-sized pimples that are still healing.. One of them is a real eye sore, right in the middle of my cheek. It's in the middle of drying out right now. For once though, I don't even care. It doesn't bother me. I ke
  7. Just wanted to drop by and share my experience with spiro. I’m 34 female who has been struggling with hormonal acne on my jawline(big cysts) on and off for years. I was nervous and skeptical about going on spiro for years despite being told my multiple dermatologists that’s what I needed to be on. I was scared of having an initial breakout and the hormonal changes it would bring. I had read many negative experiences on this site as well that made me delay going on it until 7 months ago when
  8. Hello, Does anyone else have this kind of acne? Anyone know what it is? I’ve tried just about everything in my lifetime and nothing seems to improve my condition. I am in my late 20’s now and have had this for about 15 years. Please see the picture to see if this is something you can identify and any advice for what helped. Most of the time you cannot see the acne, only in certain lights. Then it looks awful. It’s almost as if every pore has a bump.
  9. I'm starting to suspect that milk/dairy was the culprit. I have eaten very little dairy in the past 35 days, just a little bit of milk to wet my small bowl of cereal at breakfast. When I had my horrendous breakout in December & January, I was eating a lot of yogurt. And though I has no breakouts whilst taking antibiotics through February and March and was regularly eating yogurt, I starting breaking out soon after the antibiotics finished. Since I replaced the milk with almond milk last week
  10. Still not a lot to tell - which is a good thing! It's been a week since I had a new spot, and that one is still a lump which has not come to a head. I don't think it's going to either. The two spots from before are more or less flat now, but still in the process of healing, but with make-up, there are hidden fairly well. I am still using UltraClear on the spotty side of my chin and BP on the clear (but blemish prone) areas. I think the U/C is the best to use on the spots themselves. Not only doe
  11. Yesterday I thought that maybe one of the small spots from a few weeks ago was trying to make a resurgence, but wasn't too sure. Last night it was definitely a bit swollen - gah!!! I slathered BP on it and the rest of the left side of my chin. The right side seems to be a little bit more under control, but the left side seems always on the verge of a new breakout. I guess it's only been 16 days since I started using BP twice a day, hopefully I just need to persevere. This morning it doesn't seem
  12. OK so.... I'm an idiot. Well, not really an idiot, but I honestly wonder why I did this to myself - and why I canNOT stop picking in a vengeful rage against my poor, poor face. I added extra glycolic acid to the parts that are in the picture as obviously red and messed up. The rest of my skin basically looks fine, though since cutting down to just 1G Pantothenic acid supplementing a day it is definitely getting oilier. Background info - I bought 70% Glycolic acid undiluted (extremely high pe
  13. Hey everyone. I'm writing this as a summary of my Accutane experience. I'm a 34 yo Male who's suffered from moderate to severe acne since my mid-teens. I know it's cliche, but I've done everything under the sun (basically all products) and very expensive food sensitivity tests and monthly esthetician visits. My acne would go through brief periods of clarity (although there was always a little acne) and then breakout quite regularly. About once a year i would have a MAJOR breakout where whi
  14. well i havent been on here for like a 8 months or so! i moved to NZ and had fine skin from sep - feb. nothing that upset me too much. the tablets ran out and i stopped using differin untill i had a spot or 2 and i was doing well then come feb and WHAM i got break out after break out and they wont go im still not eating dairy, didnt start doing anything different. i was gettin so down. i work in a bar here and i was feeling really low about myself and how i looked. i felt like every time it
  15. Ok so idk if anyone will care to read this but Hii! if you’re on here I’m assuming you’re going through a similarly hard time and I wish you the best and hope you find what works for you soon! ok backstory I have had acne since I was 13, I have it on my face (rarely on my cheeks though), and on my back and chest (though I am better at dealing with that for some reason) after years I came to the realization my acne was hormonal. I get painful “blind pimples” and whit heads, the worst of it i
  16. Hi guys . I need your help in my condition . I uploaded photos for more clear vision . I have this condition since my late childhood . Maybe 12 years old untel now . 30 . I can not shave the beard because it will irritate my face and all comes nasty . So i keep it on . But still pimples all over my face . Oily skin all day . I wash it 2 to 3 times a day with a cleanser . I tried tea tree oil but nothing . Tried other pharmaceutical tubes and nothing . Maybe the only thing it changed it a bit is
  17. Hello. Curious to see what others were prescribed/advised these two and how you apply them. My doc said differin during the morning every 3 days and benzaclin each night. I had irritation from benzaclin on night 3 but figured that I might've used too much too fast. Because of this I did not start differin yet. I ceased use immediately. I have been using Neutrogena's BP clear pore wash for 10+ years and never had a problem, so I'm assuming that the concentration was too high for something I wasn'
  18. Hello everyone,Let me start by giving a quick summary of my acne. At around 15 I started getting the occasional pimple her and there, but never anything too serious. However, about two and a half years ago when I was 17 years old my acne worsened dramatically. Within a matter of a couple months of this first big breakout, it got to the point where I felt the need to see a dermatologist. My derma prescribed me a mixture of Clindamycin Phosphate and Benzoyl Peroxide. This helped to initially calm t
  19. I have been using Tretinoin microsphere gel 0.1% and Minocycline 100mg (twice a day) for a couple of months now and I was on the acneeinstein.com website and the suggestion of taking zinc/Vitamin D3 pills was suggested. I wanted to ask and see if it was ok that I take these pills along with the medications that have been prescribed to me? thanks in advance.
  20. Hi all, A little background of myself: I am 30 years old and I have been suffering from Severe to mild acne since i was 15 years old. My first time ever going to a dermatologist for medicine was about 2 years ago and he prescribed me epiduo with doxycycline and it took a year for my acne to clear up, but I never got rid of blemishes and some scars around my face. After I cleared up, I stopped using the medicine and I broke out again after 2 months and now I went to a different doctor and he in
  21. I have dealt with acne for the past 4-5 years (I am now 25). My acne started when I went off my birth control. I know some people go back on it to fix their acne again, but I was didn’t want to use a band-aid and I knew one day I would want to have kids so I bit the bullet. The first 2-3 years I believe the acne was my hormones adjusting, but this past year and a half I don’t get anything cystic and I notice my breakouts get really annoying once I’ve been on a picking spree and squeezing all of
  22. I've been desperate to get help on this forum for the past two months and no one has answered me. I have moderate-severe acne that I believe is hormonal but I honestly have no idea what is going on with my skin or my body, I am losing faith in all of these methods and attempts to figure my skin out and it is worsening my depression. I can't leave the house without makeup and am severely self conscious. My situation: I had been using tretinoin 0.025 and benzo-clin (some sort of benzoyl peroxi
  23. Has anyone experienced this using the Caveman Regime before? Background.. I was on Accutane twice when I was a teenager.. Cleared my skin up beautifully. Since having kids I began breaking out again on and off... (hormonal) Since I stopped nursing the breakouts returned but I had them under control a natural regime of gentle natural cleanser, diluted apple cider vinegar toner and tea tree oil as a spot treatment. Recently I decided I was done being a prisoner to all these remedies and felt like
  24. Seriously losing the will to live with my acne. It’s a joke! I’ve had acne since I was 18 and I’m now 25 going on 26!!! I’ve tried literally everything and my only option left is accutane but I really really don’t want to go on it because I have a phobia of blood and needles so I couldn’t deal with the monthly blood test’s needed. I’ve used both benzoyl peroxide and Retinoids like Differen none have helped. I even went on the contraceptive pill to see if that helped and it didn’t
