  1. Katzillah

    One Week

    From the album: Tactupump/Tactuo (Epiduo)

    - I Survived! I know, I know, there's still a while to go, but what may not look like huge progress as far as clearing my acne, I'm happy that things are getting going, and all that wonderful stuff that's been hiding out under my skin is ridding itself. At this point my routine is as follows: Morning: Wash face with Cetaphil (no face cloth, due to sensitivity) Neutrogena Alcohol free Toner Avene Clean-Ac Cream (hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic) (only after the recommendation of a friend

    Day Five

    From the album: Tactupump/Tactuo (Epiduo)

    - This is kind of where things started to get grizzly. Whiteheads started to charge their way out, and the dryness and burning started to hit full force

    Day Two

    From the album: Tactupump/Tactuo (Epiduo)

    - I know, every day updates are a little excessive, but I was noticing changes so, I kept track haha

    Day One

    From the album: Tactupump/Tactuo (Epiduo)

    - Could be worse, but this is as bad as I've ever had it. Deduction lead to the root of the problem is the Mirena IUD I got inserted in early May, and aside from just getting the IUD removed, my doctor recommended using Tactupump (Tactuo/Epiduo), and here we are!
  5. From the album: Isolaz+Laser Genesis

After awhile I feel like it's not getting much better because every time when I do Isolaz, all the active acne would be flatten for 2-3 days. After that new pimples emerge from the remaining close comedones. It's like a never ending cycle. Plus my skin scars really badly. I can't have this going on like this! I really need to find a solution for those closed comedones.
  6. From the album: Week 1 Dalacin T (erythromycin)

This is me after using Differin/adapalen in combination with lymecylin for 6/7 weeks. Tonight I'll swap differin for Dalacin T
  7. Manj4*16

    Day 40

From the album: Zenatane Progress Photos

Day 40 at 40 mg twice a day. I was feeling the best about my skin so far at this point! I ran a 5k this day in the beautiful but extremely humid Charleston, SC this day which accounts for a good deal of that redness. Everything on my face was flattening down and my skin was feeling so smooth. Starting to feel like a turn around!

    Day 20

From the album: Zenatane Progress Photos

20th dose at 40 mg, once a day. This was the start of my initial break out. Frustration levels were pretty high. Sorry for the weird screenshot on this one!

    Day 10

From the album: Zenatane Progress Photos

This photo was taken on my 10th dose, 40 mg once a day. My face was getting pretty irritated and burn-y at this point. But my skin was already improving!!
  10. So...I started breaking out again about a week and half ago, so approximately 6 weeks after finishing the course of antibiotics. Urgh! What gives? I had a small cluster of cystic-type acne on the left side of my chin (always the left side!) and one under my left nostril. The cluster is healing now (but still red and lumpy) and the one under my nose is smaller than it was, but still a visible lump. I am more than a little worried that another lump is forming in the cluster area. It is not to
  11. I've been a silent observer to this website for a very long time. So long in fact that I have already made the life-changing decision to begin an Isotretinoin treatment and am currently on my 47th day of treatment. Reading so many other blogs has inspired me to create my own, especially when I've experienced the difference it has made for me to read the commentary so many others have provided throughout their Iso journey. So even though they will probably never read this, thank you to all of the
  12. From the album: Week One / Day 3

WEEK ONE / DAY THREE (I was using Proactiv until it ran out and then I switched to the Regimen because Proactiv was too harsh on my skin.) My skin become even more dry. I was not using a moisturizer, as the Proactiv kit does not provide one. This made my skin extremely irritated and flakey. I noticed that my skin was "hardening", which can happen when you use Benzol-Peroxide, and it was becoming even darker in color. I noticed areas that were inflamed were no longer, however,
  13. From the album: retin-a micro: worth the wait? I took a picture of my face every week for 4 months

When I first started writing this post at the beginning of the summer, I was in the throes of the initial breakout caused by starting topical retinoids. Hyper-keratinized plugs and god-knows-what-else built up in my pores, and now the retinoid was forcing it out. My face erupted in multiple places with huge, swollen bumps. As each lesion resolved, 2or 3 new ones would begin forming on skin still red and tender from the previous weeks breakout. The only thing keeping me sane was this: I have a pr

Day 70 on Accutane. More acne stuff here: https://www.instagram.com/mynameisjustp/
  16. DAY 16 update. So the combination of YAZ and Spironolactone has resulted in my period being extended to the current 15th day. My menstrual cycle is usually painful, heavy, and lasts around 5 days. (So heavy that I have to go for iron infusions at the hospital.) Presently, my bleeding has ranged between light/medium. The combination of starting the birth control pill again (after a long while) along with spironolactone has resulted in my hormones going slightly unhinged. While my hormones are s
  17. So far, DAY 13 hasn't been great. I'm getting cystic acne in places I usually never have to worry about. For the past 2-3 days I've had a small/medium cysts growing on my forehead, hairline area and on my nose(!!it's big and red!!). Places I rarely have acne ffs! I think my hormones are trying to find middle ground (at least I hope) because YAZ has extended my period to 12 days. I will wait for my hormones to return from war. I've also started doing LED blue/red light therapy twice a week at
  18. I started thinking that maybe my last post was a little spammy so I'm just gonna say real quick that I am in no way affiliated with Clarisonic or any distributor. I've been lusting after one for about a year now and scored a good Black Friday deal lol so that being said - DANG! It has been so cool and dry in SoCal lately, my skin will not stop looking red and peeling! I don't want to kick Triretnoin from my regimen so I decided I'm going to back off the Clarisonic a little bit and only do it
  19. Just a quick update here. Still not a whole lot to say - no new spots which probably means the antibiotics are starting to work. However, those two big spots between my mouth and nose are actually four. Four! WTF My skin is really dry though I am trying to keep it moisturised. I am no longer using BP all over my problem area because I know the antibiotics should take care of that. I still need to make an appointment for the New Year to get a dermatologist referral... So...yes, slightly
  20. There's not much to say today, my skin is not much better than a few days ago, it could even be a bit worse since there was another new spot on it's way by the time I started taking the antibiotics. From past experiences, I know that the antibiotics do not stop what has already started. I now have two big lumps between my mouth and nose; one of them has come to a head and is now healing, but I think there could be yet another one right next to it, which is probably why it got so huge so quickly.
  21. Day 1. 9:00 Washed with Proactive added pure aloe gel or scabs along with Simple 24 hr day/night cream. Skin on forehead so oily by 1:00 Thinking about somehow adding more BP to the proactive cream. I like the way the system works and it suppresses around 80% of it but it doesn't stop my face from getting oily and it doesn't keep the CC away. Food: Breakfast Vegan pancakes (banana, Egg, vanilla &honey), Lunch: Chicken, gluten free corn chips. Drank a LOT of water though with Crystal l
  22. Nothing much to report here really. I have had two noticeable spots in the past week or so, weirdly in the same place but on opposite sides in front of my ears. The one in front of my left ear now feels huge under the skin. Other than that pretty good really. I still have the Hyper-pigmentation but I find if I skip a day on the meds then that seems to fade a little, I am hoping that means it will fade pretty quickly when I stop the medication for good. I have had some muscle and back pain on a
  23. When I said my skin was the worst it has been in years, it's worse now. The cheek that wasn't as bad has started up. I have a massive thing in between my eyebrows and one on the side of my forehead. There is nothing to do but carry on.
  24. Just when I think things might be looking up, I come out in about five massive, huge, painful, under the skin lumps. Seriously now, I will be amazed if this actually does work for me. I will be honest, the doubt is creeping in.
  25. Okay so - I wanted to share some before pictures. This is when I had hit my breaking point... I would have seriously burned off my face if it meant a beautiful new one would magically appear. I had stopped going to the dermatologist because the one I was seeing wouldn't believe me when I said everything I was dealing with on my face was totally hormonal and none of the stuff I had was working. I had been seeing her for about a year and a half. LUCKILY I found someone else but anyway... here's th
