  1. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! With a side of UGH! That is how I have felt this week. I seem to be experiencing a "purging" period with these products. I attribute this not only to using new products but constantly switching and adding things! Part of its my fault and then also your skin also has to adjust to new products so...yeah. But...My skin totally purged like crazy earlier this week. I got like 5 new zits all at once, one being an annoying cyst on my jawline which i can't stand! I hat
  2. So...I have been using the Paula's choice clear system for ALMOST 2 weeks now and WOW can i see huge changes in my skin Definitely for the better! So...I decided the 5% BP is way too strong for my skin...I don't know why but every time I used it I would be bright red and burning so I decided to ask for the 2.5% sample instead. BTW her customer service is oustanding...for NO cost they quickly sent me the regular strength CLEAR kit in the mail...well the 2 week sample size but still! So
  3. As a teen I had your run of the mill acne that was treated with antibiotics and some creams from the dermatologist. As I got into my twenties I started having some kind of atopic dermatitis acne and possibly rosacea. I would use drying creams for the acne and then my skin would be scaly and irritated. I tried Accutane which was a miracle for a short while but eventually seemed to stop working. The side effects were rough and some long lasting. I got peels and tried retin-A and other topical acne
  4. So...a little history of Ashley's skin trials and errors: Began getting mild acne age 13-16 very mild but bothersome and constant. Never really followed any regimen. Age 17...moderate acne...began using pro active and hated it. Skin continues to worsen, i take my first trip to the derm and get prescribed doxycycline which clears up my skin in 2 months...until i decide to stop taking the medicine and my acne returns! 18-20 moderate acne...sometimes clearer than others, but constan
  5. Well I've been back on the aha and 2.5% combo for the last few weeks and my skins been clearing up to the point that I had a few pimples and scars which were barely visible went to look in the mirror for a wash and my 'tzone' has gone ballistic not happy I had a big social weekend planned and was feeling comfortable and confident at work again. I still have a night out planned just going to avoid being stand off-ish my usual problem when I perceive that my skin is playing up. Acne as usual
  6. I got acne at around 18 years old and i am 28 now. Just started out on accutane 30mg 3 days ago Yasmin Cerazette Doxyclycine Loestrin 20 Dalacin T Marvelon Lymecycline Erythromycin Adapalene Duac Retin-A Gel 0.025 Dianette Azaleic acid It has been moderate acne, blackheads forever, with some cysts around jaw and chin. There have been really good months, when i may only have got 3 cysts and a few small pimples that clear up quickly. Then i can thnk somehow things are clearing u
  7. When I was 19, I had a terrible breakout unlike anything I ever had before. Sure, I had the normal teenage acne- occasional zits that were cured with topicals. But this was different. I had huge cysts around my chin and lower cheeks and they just kept getting worse and worse in a very short period of time. After going on an antibiotic pill that did not end up working, the doctors resorted to Accutane. My sophomore year of college on Accutane was the most mentally challenging year of my life
  8. I'm on Day 7 and my acne is drying up! The Azelaic Acid has helped with the redness. I have gotten 2 new large cyst type pimples on my chin but that's also due to my time of the month. Other than those 2 cyst I’ve gotten zero new pimples. I’m not sure if it’s the Spiro or the dairy free diet but I’m seeing a difference. It’s not significant but every day I see my skin getting a little bit better. I’m having trouble finding dairy free foods at the regular Wal-Mart/HEB grocery stores so I’m goin
  9. I'm 27 and have been dealing with acne since high school. I've been on EVERYTHING! 5 rounds of accutane but it keeps coming back. My derm just put me on 100 mg of Spiro per day. I'm 5'2 100lbs and the first day I took 50mg in the morning and 50mg at night. I was so lightheaded and sick at work today that I'm going to switch to taking the full 100mg at night right before bed with food. I've also switched from Nuvaring to Ortho. I wash my face with Dermatological and use Azelaic acid 15% 2x per da
  10. OK so.... I'm an idiot. Well, not really an idiot, but I honestly wonder why I did this to myself - and why I canNOT stop picking in a vengeful rage against my poor, poor face. I added extra glycolic acid to the parts that are in the picture as obviously red and messed up. The rest of my skin basically looks fine, though since cutting down to just 1G Pantothenic acid supplementing a day it is definitely getting oilier. Background info - I bought 70% Glycolic acid undiluted (extremely high pe
  11. I haven't been great about following the regimen to a T as recommended by Dan, unfortunately... It has been too drying to my skin, and using moisturizer after applying the BP just inevitably has me slathering it on parts of my face I don't have acne to begin with - which causes it to look sorta damaged and doesn't help me keep it concentrated on the problem areas like around my chin. I was using Cetaphil cleanser and moisturizer because they are a bit more nourishing, but now that I've run out o
  12. I haven't really had the need to return back to Acne.org for a few years when I got over acne. When I was 18, I broke out all over my face and struggled with finding the right skincare products and taking regular trips to the dermatologist. Since then, I've only had mild breakouts and have kept them under control. All of a sudden, I'm experiencing a whole other new kind of breakout: adult cystic acne. For the last 2-3 months, I've been breaking out in cysts. They are large, painful, under-th
