  1. Zoom in of my nose. Worsened the past 6 months. Pores enlarged. Redness.
  2. Hi, just hoping to get the word out there to the medical and science world. It seems that no one realizes that DIMETHICONE and TRIMETHICONE are REALLLLLLLY horrible for some people's skin. I look it up online and it says safe enough for babies. But I would feel so sorry for any baby who is having the same reaction that I have to these silicones in the creams and moisturizers. Please know, that my own dermatologists just assumed I had rosacea for nearly 20 years. They put me on a daily regim
  3. Hey y’all, ive had acne my whole life. It’s genetic. The earliest memories I have of my mom is her gouging plugs from her face and by the time I was 13 I was doing the same. My skin has improved from birth control pills, but due to harsh side effects I had to stop. retinol has been very helpful, but I still have flare ups! My issue is the type of acne I have. My pores produce HUGE sebaceous filaments that get inflamed. After a shower I will use a black head remover and the hugest plug
  4. Hello, I have been suffering acne on my face and back since teenage years. Sometimes severe sometimes moderate but never fully clear. I have visited several dermatologists and tried the creams, face washes and tablets. Always fell out of routine when things didn't help. Here are today pics. Anyone with experience of something similar. Please advice!
  5. Hey everyone, Thought I’d make this post on here because I really have no where else to turn to. Ive struggled with back acne since I could remember. While playing hockey at a high level from 10 years old to 20 I always had a few spots on in the middle of my back then it went to lower back, then the sides a bit, then moved over to a little higher up. And since it was on my back it really didnt bother me. I couldn’t see it and for the most part couldn’t feel it so I had no concern ov
  6. When Will I Grow Out of Acne?

The Hormones That Cause Acne Decrease with Age The Statistics: How Likely Is Acne Beyond Adolescence? Conclusion The Hormones That Cause Acne Decrease with Age Growing out of acne depends largely on hormones. The main hormones that lead to acne are called androgens. These are produced at higher levels during puberty, which leads to increased production of skin oil, clogged pores, and eventually pimples. When people reach adulthood, androgen levels typically stabilize, and acne becomes less...
  7. Hey you guys! I've uploaded some pictures of my really pesky closed comedones. I have had these for a few years now on my cheeks and just to the left and the right of my jaw. My forehead is clear of closed comedones and only gets a pimple every now and then. I also have closed comedones around my lips and nose. I have tried lots of topicals, gone to two different dermatologists, had face peels, and extractions. The only successful entries I've seen only has been people who had my type of a
  8. I had acne all though highschool, but it was always mild whiteheads/blackheads that didn't scar or cystic acne that faded after a week or so. When I started college, things got worse. When I turned 18 the flareups were often but manageable. To treat it, my dermatologist recommened finacea, then added a retenoid gel, then spirotolactone (sorry for any mispellings, I'm on my phone), and an array of antibiotics. The only option she says I had left, since these only lessened the acne on my for
  9. Just wanted to drop by and share my experience with spiro. I’m 34 female who has been struggling with hormonal acne on my jawline(big cysts) on and off for years. I was nervous and skeptical about going on spiro for years despite being told my multiple dermatologists that’s what I needed to be on. I was scared of having an initial breakout and the hormonal changes it would bring. I had read many negative experiences on this site as well that made me delay going on it until 7 months ago when
  10. These pills I used were Skin Accumax from Jane Iredele. I recommend these pills to anyone who mentions the word acne. They were my last resort to RoAccutane. They’re not cheap but they are so worth it. I followed the dosage religiously and my skin has been cured every since. Please see my photos for before and after! So I’ve suffered with acne all my life and I just wanted to share a little miracle that saved my skin and my mental health. My next step was Ro accutane if it didn’t work and
  11. Well here I am almost 6 months post Accutane and no cysts have occurred!! It is amazing. So happy I decided to use Accutane, I love the freedom of not having to deal and worry about acne. I get one or two teeny tiny pimples a month but other than that a clear face. The biggest thing is to not pick at any imperfection on my face. Sometimes a very small almost hive like bump will pop up but as long as I leave it alone, it's usually gone the next day. The hair is the same as my last post, I have be
  12. So a few months ago I had the worst breakout I've ever had in my life. I'm not sure if it was random or due to some treatments that I was trying at the time. I stopped doing everything. I went straight caveman regimen to try and help and it seemed like it helped a little. The only things I do now is use tamanu oil for HIP and I've been taking some vitamins and I even went and bought a filtered showerhead for my shower to help filter the water I use on my face. It just seems like nothing I'm doin
  13. My acne started when I moved here in Toronto Canada, I was 17 then now Im 34 and fed up with it. I used to go to Dr. Geller acne treatment clinic they have 4 branches then 2 of those helped me with acne. Ive been to the yonge and st claire (under Dr. David Eisen) for a very long time. I tried benzoil peroxide, minocyn and everything in between. I did 2 rounds or treatment of Accutane with birth control pills when I was in early 20s. I stopped the pill when we want to get pregnant (i was 29 yo
  14. Hello everyone. It's been a while since I've sought advice here but I really want to know people's opinions and whether anyone experiences the same thing as me. I am 25, suffered with mild/moderate acne since 13/14. It was definitely puberty. It was in the t-zone and just typical of teenage skin. At the age of 17 i used Zineryt which completely cleared me up. Acne came back worse after about 10 months and I've not been free from it since. Up until earlier this year I used 5% BP (acnecide)

  16. Hello. I am new here and I created an account to see if I could get some advice from people with experience with acne similar to mine. In the past, my acne wasn't as severe in the pictures (seen below) but it still bothered me then. Back then, my primary care doctor had me on birth control (Tri-Sprintec). I was on it twice. The first time was for 1 year, 26 days (12/20/2015 to 01/14/2017). The second time was 9 months, 8 days (2/12/2017 to 11/19/2017). It did help my acne then but over time
  17. Hello, Does anyone else have this kind of acne? Anyone know what it is? I’ve tried just about everything in my lifetime and nothing seems to improve my condition. I am in my late 20’s now and have had this for about 15 years. Please see the picture to see if this is something you can identify and any advice for what helped. Most of the time you cannot see the acne, only in certain lights. Then it looks awful. It’s almost as if every pore has a bump.
  18. Hi, I was wondering if anyone has been through the same thing and could help. I’ve never had great skin, and as a teenager always had mild acne, but once I got to 18 it evened out to the point where it had minimal impact on my everyday life. I’m 24 now, and around May/June my skin got so bad - moderate to severe acne - on areas of my face I’d never got spots before - with big painful cysts. I went to my doctor and was prescribed Epiduo which I eagerly used too much off and ended up with
  19. Hi there. I went from 28 w/ years of nasty hormonal acne to 32 with none-to-socially acceptable acne. Here’s what I learned that works for me: Got off all forms of hormonal birth control at 22 and switched to Paraguard IUD. All hell broke loose. Yes, spironolactone works. Like, amazing glowing beautiful skin, reduced my anxiety, all sorts of things. Then 8 months into it one day my lower body melted into cellulite like I've never seen before (I was around 25 years old) &a

    Day 1

As you can see I have moderate acne, I will get maybe 5 cysts a year. I usually wake up to 2 new pimples every week which leave very bad hyper pigmentation that will last for more then 6 months. I am lucky in that I do not get bad acne on my forehead, back, and chest. I get all of my acne on my cheeks and recently it has been leaving ice pick scars, that is when I got serious about tackling my acne. Today is my first day taking 40mg, and the one thing I am nervous about is dry lips and eyes beca
  21. So a year ago I started taking Spironolactone 100mg and Birth control. I had really oily skin, VERY oily, and my acne was hormonal, around the jaw, cheeks and my chin. It took about four months for me to see results. I have had nice clear skin for about 6 months and the oil isn't there anymore and I don't even have to was my hair all the time because i have a less oily scalp. Well all of a sudden this week my hair and face got super oily again and i got one cystic pimple on my chin. I was so hap
