    Dry dry dry

I started thinking that maybe my last post was a little spammy so I'm just gonna say real quick that I am in no way affiliated with Clarisonic or any distributor. I've been lusting after one for about a year now and scored a good Black Friday deal lol so that being said - DANG! It has been so cool and dry in SoCal lately, my skin will not stop looking red and peeling! I don't want to kick Triretnoin from my regimen so I decided I'm going to back off the Clarisonic a little bit and only do it

    Week One / Backstory

I have been dealing with acne since I was about 14, and I am 24 now. I tried every antibiotic, topical, pill, gel, cream, facials and even accutane at age 15. Accutane worked WONDERS. I had beautiful clear baby soft skin in a matter of months. I never wore a drop of makeup. Then somewhere around the age of 20-21 my skin got dramatically worse. I began getting stubborn cyst-like pimples that wouldn't go away no matter what I did. I cut out dairy, became a pescetarian, took tons of vitamins daily,

    Back again :(

Hi guys, Ok so I'm back. To put a little story behind this thread, I've been using acne.org products since I was about 18/19 - I'm now 26. So back in my late teens, I had pretty horrific acne. I've suffered with rubbish skin since I was about 12, and it came and went over the years and I was prescribed a variety of topical things, all of which just kinda stopped working and I had to move on to the next thing. When I started using the acne.org BP, in conjunction with a new pill that I wa

This is me after using Differin/adapalen in combination with lymecylin for 6/7 weeks. Tonight I'll swap differin for Dalacin T
  6. Hi, I am new to this forum but I'm hoping it can help me out. I live in Connecticut. I'm 22 yrs old in college and I have had consistent acne since I was 16 years old (6 years now). I have seen dermatologists when I was younger but haven't in the past 3 years. My acne fluctuates from mild/moderate/ to severe and right now its getting to severe for no apparent reason. Over the past 6 years my clear skin has progressively become damaged looking, my pores are large, my skin is oily and red, and my

    Sudden Adult Cystic Acne

Hi Guys its been a while since i posted. As you can see in my previous posts i tried the caveman regimen and it did not work for me at all. my cistic acne on the right side of my face got worse. So i decided to visit the dematologist again. When she saw me she got so mad she basically started screaming at me asking me why didnt i follow the regimen she suggested. This happened the first week of December 2014. She decided to start me on a completly new regmen. First, That torture Facial I real

    Day One

    From the album: Tactupump/Tactuo (Epiduo)

    - Could be worse, but this is as bad as I've ever had it. Deduction lead to the root of the problem is the Mirena IUD I got inserted in early May, and aside from just getting the IUD removed, my doctor recommended using Tactupump (Tactuo/Epiduo), and here we are!
  9. Seriously losing the will to live with my acne. It’s a joke! I’ve had acne since I was 18 and I’m now 25 going on 26!!! I’ve tried literally everything and my only option left is accutane but I really really don’t want to go on it because I have a phobia of blood and needles so I couldn’t deal with the monthly blood test’s needed. I’ve used both benzoyl peroxide and Retinoids like Differen none have helped. I even went on the contraceptive pill to see if that helped and it didn’t
  10. Hello. I am in my 30's and have been on birth control for most of my life. I never had acne before other than a pimple here and there. last year I decided to stop taking birth control because I wanted to start a family and two months after stopping the pill I got acne. Not regular acne but big nasty red cystic acne all over my face. Well I freaked out and went back to birth control. After a month my face was clear again. This year I stopped the pill again and the same thing happened I went to t
  11. Hey all! Wow... So I can't believe I'm back on this site 10 years after I signed up. Back in 2006 when the Acne.org Regimen didn't even exist. Crazy! Well, I'm 26 years old now and sad to say I'm still not finished with this whole acne thing. Shortly after I joined in 2006, I found a treatment that worked for me - birth control pills. It was obvious that my acne was hormonal (I had the painful cystic kind around my chin/mouth area) so BCP was the perfect solution for my skin. I have been cl
  12. So far, DAY 13 hasn't been great. I'm getting cystic acne in places I usually never have to worry about. For the past 2-3 days I've had a small/medium cysts growing on my forehead, hairline area and on my nose(!!it's big and red!!). Places I rarely have acne ffs! I think my hormones are trying to find middle ground (at least I hope) because YAZ has extended my period to 12 days. I will wait for my hormones to return from war. I've also started doing LED blue/red light therapy twice a week at

    Spiro Week 1

I am creating this log (also created as a blog entry) in hopes that it helps others. I was blessed with nearly-perfect skin my entire life, until the age of 23. I began having occassional breakouts, mostly on my chin around my mouth, and visited my first dermatologist. These minor breakouts seemed like a big deal to me at the time, since I had never experienced this before. I was prescribed Duac. Within 1 month, my face was crystal clear once again. Using duac as needed kept me clear for almost
  14. Hey everyone! I haven't posted on these boards much, but now that I've found something that controls my acne I wanted to share for others out there struggling with stubborn/long-term acne. I'm a 23 year old female. I have very sensitive oily/combination skin. I've had acne since I was 12 and I've tried a lot of different treatments through all the years including over the counter, prescription topical retinoids/benzol, birth control, anti-biotics and chemical peels. I've struggled with contro
  15. From the album: Week One / Day 3

WEEK ONE / DAY THREE (I was using Proactiv until it ran out and then I switched to the Regimen because Proactiv was too harsh on my skin.) My skin become even more dry. I was not using a moisturizer, as the Proactiv kit does not provide one. This made my skin extremely irritated and flakey. I noticed that my skin was "hardening", which can happen when you use Benzol-Peroxide, and it was becoming even darker in color. I noticed areas that were inflamed were no longer, however,

  17. I went to my first EVER dermatologist appointment today, and was prescribed Epiduo. I am also taking Ortho Tri cyclen (for about 5 months now) BCP. I have mild adult acne (It was moderate, but my initial breakout from the Ortho Tri is over, and it's slowly improving) Never had acne as a teen; just started getting it about 6 months ago, at 25 years old. I've been reading a lot of good reviews about Epiduo on here, however, I am terrified of an initial breakout. I am still recovering from m

    Meh...

There's not much to say today, my skin is not much better than a few days ago, it could even be a bit worse since there was another new spot on it's way by the time I started taking the antibiotics. From past experiences, I know that the antibiotics do not stop what has already started. I now have two big lumps between my mouth and nose; one of them has come to a head and is now healing, but I think there could be yet another one right next to it, which is probably why it got so huge so quickly.

    I couldn't do it

So I went off birth control (ortho tri cyclen) back in October due to lots of problems with it like severe migraines, pains, bloating, horrible mood swings, etc. one of the only things I liked about it was glowing beautiful skin. About a month or so after going off my skin broke out horribly and got super oily. After talking about it on another forum and seeing a doctor I was given Yaz to try. Today was the first Sunday after my period I took the pill and pretty much had immediate regret along w

    Can I Take Accutane?

My question: Is accutane a possibility for me? I have moderate adult acne for the past year, and have been prescribed things like acanya, atralin, tri luma, and all have made my skin worse. Also I have taken minocyline pills the last 6 months. Right now I started a new regiment for the past 2 weeks using clindamycin gel in the morning and ziana in the evening, I also take 75mg of minocyline pills in the morning. My face is not producing many new big pimples or zits, but I have a lot of discolo

    Doxycycline Not Working?

Hey you guys. I'm a 20 year old female that started suffering from acne about a year go. Throughout my entire high school career, my skin was spotless...I rarely had more than one or two pimples every couple of months. Starting a year ago, I got my first every series of break outs that lasted about a month. After starting my new job at a restaurant back in December (9 months ago) I started developing moderate to severe acne. Not just whiteheads and pustules, but cystic acne all along my fore
  22. Hi everyone Im on accutane for a 2nd time round relapsed first time after about 9 mths. I have hormonal acne definetely linked to periods and ovulation i want to try spiro is this something that a GP in the UK can prescribe ? Not had any real side effect from accutane but dont want to keep having to go back on as the list of donts is too long for my liking Emma
  23. 7/20/14. I am 34 years old and I have always had clear skin... until 2 years ago when my acne came on strong, out of no where. I have tried so many OTC and prescription cleansers, lotions, toners, serums, multiple birth control pills, antibiotics, the list goes on. I'm so frustrated and embarrassed by my skin. I have read countless reviews on various acne products and finally today decided to purchase The Regimen plus jojoba oil. I can't wait for it to arrive. I'll update my log as my new skin c
  24. I should note that I haven't had any inflamed acne in years (just minor every now and then)- my problem is congestion & comedonal "blocks". The problem is pores which are constantly full of oil & gunk. They then are covered with dead skin cells, with no opening to be removed (crazy because I exfoliate no nobodys business!) Mainly forehead, hair line. I also get cysts (yay!) on my jaw and chin area (related to shaving for extreme hairy face). But regardless I will get them occasio
  25. Nothing much to report here really. I have had two noticeable spots in the past week or so, weirdly in the same place but on opposite sides in front of my ears. The one in front of my left ear now feels huge under the skin. Other than that pretty good really. I still have the Hyper-pigmentation but I find if I skip a day on the meds then that seems to fade a little, I am hoping that means it will fade pretty quickly when I stop the medication for good. I have had some muscle and back pain on a
