  1. Hello. Curious to see what others were prescribed/advised these two and how you apply them. My doc said differin during the morning every 3 days and benzaclin each night. I had irritation from benzaclin on night 3 but figured that I might've used too much too fast. Because of this I did not start differin yet. I ceased use immediately. I have been using Neutrogena's BP clear pore wash for 10+ years and never had a problem, so I'm assuming that the concentration was too high for something I wasn'
  2. Hi guys . I need your help in my condition . I uploaded photos for more clear vision . I have this condition since my late childhood . Maybe 12 years old untel now . 30 . I can not shave the beard because it will irritate my face and all comes nasty . So i keep it on . But still pimples all over my face . Oily skin all day . I wash it 2 to 3 times a day with a cleanser . I tried tea tree oil but nothing . Tried other pharmaceutical tubes and nothing . Maybe the only thing it changed it a bit is
  3. Hey everyone. I'm writing this as a summary of my Accutane experience. I'm a 34 yo Male who's suffered from moderate to severe acne since my mid-teens. I know it's cliche, but I've done everything under the sun (basically all products) and very expensive food sensitivity tests and monthly esthetician visits. My acne would go through brief periods of clarity (although there was always a little acne) and then breakout quite regularly. About once a year i would have a MAJOR breakout where whi
  4. Ok so idk if anyone will care to read this but Hii! if you’re on here I’m assuming you’re going through a similarly hard time and I wish you the best and hope you find what works for you soon! ok backstory I have had acne since I was 13, I have it on my face (rarely on my cheeks though), and on my back and chest (though I am better at dealing with that for some reason) after years I came to the realization my acne was hormonal. I get painful “blind pimples” and whit heads, the worst of it i
  5. well i havent been on here for like a 8 months or so! i moved to NZ and had fine skin from sep - feb. nothing that upset me too much. the tablets ran out and i stopped using differin untill i had a spot or 2 and i was doing well then come feb and WHAM i got break out after break out and they wont go im still not eating dairy, didnt start doing anything different. i was gettin so down. i work in a bar here and i was feeling really low about myself and how i looked. i felt like every time it
  6. Hello everyone,Let me start by giving a quick summary of my acne. At around 15 I started getting the occasional pimple her and there, but never anything too serious. However, about two and a half years ago when I was 17 years old my acne worsened dramatically. Within a matter of a couple months of this first big breakout, it got to the point where I felt the need to see a dermatologist. My derma prescribed me a mixture of Clindamycin Phosphate and Benzoyl Peroxide. This helped to initially calm t
  7. I have been using Tretinoin microsphere gel 0.1% and Minocycline 100mg (twice a day) for a couple of months now and I was on the acneeinstein.com website and the suggestion of taking zinc/Vitamin D3 pills was suggested. I wanted to ask and see if it was ok that I take these pills along with the medications that have been prescribed to me? thanks in advance.
  8. Hi all, A little background of myself: I am 30 years old and I have been suffering from Severe to mild acne since i was 15 years old. My first time ever going to a dermatologist for medicine was about 2 years ago and he prescribed me epiduo with doxycycline and it took a year for my acne to clear up, but I never got rid of blemishes and some scars around my face. After I cleared up, I stopped using the medicine and I broke out again after 2 months and now I went to a different doctor and he in
  9. I have dealt with acne for the past 4-5 years (I am now 25). My acne started when I went off my birth control. I know some people go back on it to fix their acne again, but I was didn’t want to use a band-aid and I knew one day I would want to have kids so I bit the bullet. The first 2-3 years I believe the acne was my hormones adjusting, but this past year and a half I don’t get anything cystic and I notice my breakouts get really annoying once I’ve been on a picking spree and squeezing all of
  10. I've been desperate to get help on this forum for the past two months and no one has answered me. I have moderate-severe acne that I believe is hormonal but I honestly have no idea what is going on with my skin or my body, I am losing faith in all of these methods and attempts to figure my skin out and it is worsening my depression. I can't leave the house without makeup and am severely self conscious. My situation: I had been using tretinoin 0.025 and benzo-clin (some sort of benzoyl peroxi
  11. Has anyone experienced this using the Caveman Regime before? Background.. I was on Accutane twice when I was a teenager.. Cleared my skin up beautifully. Since having kids I began breaking out again on and off... (hormonal) Since I stopped nursing the breakouts returned but I had them under control a natural regime of gentle natural cleanser, diluted apple cider vinegar toner and tea tree oil as a spot treatment. Recently I decided I was done being a prisoner to all these remedies and felt like
  12. Seriously losing the will to live with my acne. It’s a joke! I’ve had acne since I was 18 and I’m now 25 going on 26!!! I’ve tried literally everything and my only option left is accutane but I really really don’t want to go on it because I have a phobia of blood and needles so I couldn’t deal with the monthly blood test’s needed. I’ve used both benzoyl peroxide and Retinoids like Differen none have helped. I even went on the contraceptive pill to see if that helped and it didn’t
  13. My acne which used to be on the right side of my face has now switched to the left. I have stopped taking oral contraceptives so expected some relapse of my skin but I feel that it is different and worse than before. Any advice for treatment (not hormonal even though this has been all that has worked in the past). Currently using eucerin regime for approx 3 weeks but acne has probably got worse in this time.
  14. Hello, to my fellow victims of this terrible plague called acne. I’m not new to acne.org as I have stumbled across these forums on many occasions in the past, but this will be my first ever post. I am a 22 year old guy who suffers from moderate to severe acne specifically and almost exclusively on the chin. Picture someone drawing a triangle from the corners of your mouth down to the sides of your chin. I do occasionally get 1 or 2 above my mouth as well (maybe once or twice a month) but they he
  15. I have always had clean skin until April of this year that I started getting cystic acne. I don't know what's causing it I just know that I have tried so many things and none of them work. I went to the dermatologists who's injected me with about 8 cortisone shots this year alone and the cystic acne keeps coming back in the same places. I have to pay out of pocket at the dermatologist office and its getting so expensive. He gave me tretinoin cream, veltin, and a spray that smells like chlorine
  16. Hey guys. Im 32/F and have just started Spironolactone. Im only on 12.5mg because my doctor is being cautious as I have anorexia and my bp is already low and shes worried about it messing up my electrolytes as I usually have a problem with them being too low. But Id like to know if you guys think this amount will do anything. If my body handles this dosage, then in time she will up it to 25mg. Any thoughts will help!
  17. Hello I have been using the regimen for about 7 months now and it has worked pretty well so far. Last week, I suddenly started breaking out on the right side of my face. I have a lot of active breakouts currently. I haven't done anything out of the ordinary for this to happen, but it is all over the right side of my face. Still continuing the regimen, but wondering if anyone could provide more guidance or reasoning behind this to avoid future occurrences.
  18. how do u guys stop obsessing over your acne and letting it rule your life? It seams to be all I think about...i just want to forget. How do i stop it getting me so down. ? Love to all suffering

  21. Hello everyone. New to these forums (I've visited them in the past but never posted.) 27 year old female with moderate acne (including cysts) on my face and back. X-posted most of this on the personal regimen logs but I know that's not the right place to ask questions, so that's why I'm posting here...My new regimen for Week 2 (2/21 - 2/27): Morning1. Cleanse2. Tone (I know most toners are a waste of $$, but she actually sells good toners with antioxidants and adds skin hydration, and I like th
  22. Hi guys, Ok so I'm back. To put a little story behind this thread, I've been using acne.org products since I was about 18/19 - I'm now 26. So back in my late teens, I had pretty horrific acne. I've suffered with rubbish skin since I was about 12, and it came and went over the years and I was prescribed a variety of topical things, all of which just kinda stopped working and I had to move on to the next thing. When I started using the acne.org BP, in conjunction with a new pill that I wa
  23. DAY 16 update. So the combination of YAZ and Spironolactone has resulted in my period being extended to the current 15th day. My menstrual cycle is usually painful, heavy, and lasts around 5 days. (So heavy that I have to go for iron infusions at the hospital.) Presently, my bleeding has ranged between light/medium. The combination of starting the birth control pill again (after a long while) along with spironolactone has resulted in my hormones going slightly unhinged. While my hormones are s
  24. So far, DAY 13 hasn't been great. I'm getting cystic acne in places I usually never have to worry about. For the past 2-3 days I've had a small/medium cysts growing on my forehead, hairline area and on my nose(!!it's big and red!!). Places I rarely have acne ffs! I think my hormones are trying to find middle ground (at least I hope) because YAZ has extended my period to 12 days. I will wait for my hormones to return from war. I've also started doing LED blue/red light therapy twice a week at
  25. From the album: retin-a micro: worth the wait? I took a picture of my face every week for 4 months

When I first started writing this post at the beginning of the summer, I was in the throes of the initial breakout caused by starting topical retinoids. Hyper-keratinized plugs and god-knows-what-else built up in my pores, and now the retinoid was forcing it out. My face erupted in multiple places with huge, swollen bumps. As each lesion resolved, 2or 3 new ones would begin forming on skin still red and tender from the previous weeks breakout. The only thing keeping me sane was this: I have a pr
