  1. Skin Condition Today my skin looks exceptionally better. Arguably the best its looked in the past month. My cheeks of course have acne marks but they dont look too red today. My chin has 2 whiteheads that have popped and are healing my forehead has a few bumps but overall its clear and theres no redness Application This morning I washed my face with my sulfacleanse I applied some moisturizer I took my doxycycline before bed
  2. Please answer the week 3 poll! WEEK 2 RECAP By day 15, the breakout i got a few days before was beginning to show sign of improvement, but not fast enough. On day 16, my birthday, my skin improved greatly. Still very red but no big active pimples anymore. On Day 17-18 i saw further improvement and i concluded that the breakout was over. I think/hope that was my initial breakout. By day 19-20 i noticed my skin getting a little dry again. There was on scaley
  3. Skin Condition The acne marks on my cheeks have gone back on track to improvement The discoloration on my lip is also looking improved this morning My chin looking better too. It used to be quite bumpy but this morning it looks really smooth and the any bumps have condensed to 4 tiny whiteheads The most irritation and acne is at the corners of my mouth I have some painful areas on my cheeks and around my mouth. I have lots of tiny hard pimp
  4. Skin Condition The acne marks on my cheeks still improving, but today they seem to have taken a slight step back The discoloration on my lip is looking better than ever though My chin looking the most inflammed this morning with some new pimples popping up around my mouth. this is where i focused most of yesterdays exfoliation. So i think it was to blame. No dry skin this morning but my skin feels a little irritated. my forehead has lots of little red bu
  5. Skin Condition Per usual, my skin looks the least red in the morning Lots of acne marks still on my cheeks, no surprise The pimples on my lip continue to shrink and dry out The three tiny whiteheads on my chin have reappeared despite popping them so I guess thats a sign not to do that again I actually woke up with what i would describe as slightly OILY skin. Wow. Thats the first time that has happened since I started this treatment. It wasnt gross oily, but like, he
  6. Update 5! Hi guys! I’m sorry I haven’t been able to update on a daily basis or post daily pictures over the past few days. I’ve been super busy. That being said, I stayed consistent with my regimen, which is cool. I would say that my face has been looking just a little bit better. Today’s pictures will be labeled “Day 7” which means it’s been just about a week since this new regimen has become a regular thing for me. While I do think the active acne and the scars that were already
  7. Skin Condition Skin redness seems to be minimal like it usually is Lots of acne marks still on my cheeks, no more whiteheads two small red pimples emereged on my upper lip. Nooo. 8. About my 5 month mark on Thursday, and Just had some very bad sunburn for the past 4 days, with blisters and everything !!! I love the sun but don't plan on messsing with he sun anymore until I'm off this medicine. I'm currently on 40 mg a day and have only been on that for 1 month. Next month will be my second month of 40 mg and will be on the medicine at least 8 months maybe longer. Since I had some problems with white blood cell counts in the beginning. But still never thought I'd come this f
  9. I said that tretionin 0.05% only cleared me up about 60% and that I was looking for about 80% or more. I did end up finding something that works amazing. Yes, this actually works. Saje Natural Wellness has a kit called the "Zap" kit. Let me tell you, it really does "zap" away unwanted zits. The kit comes with everything you need for a strong morning routine. An antibacterial cleanser, a toner, spot treatment and moisturizer. The spot treatment I use at night instead, and I use benzoyl peroxi
  10. My dermatologist told me it was not uncommon for women to experience adult acne issues after having children. Kids completely change your bodies chemistry and hormone levels. After having a boy, I had elevated testosterone levels. My doctor perscribed me tretitonin .05% and told me to apply it at night, everyday, and use benzoyl peroxide in the mornings if my skin tolerated it. The first 3 months with the Tretitonin was HORRIBLE. My acne was so severe and painful that I didn't want to leave th
  11. Hello! Brief introduction, I'm 17 this year and i'm Asian. I live in a humid country. My acne main concerns are on my cheeks as they are everywhere on my cheeks and get dry in the night but oily under the sun/will turn red. I have a few acne on my jawline too.Daily routineMorning:Slather my face with Raw Honey (Really Raw Honey brand) for at least 30minutes to an hour ; sometimes when i'm lazy or in a rush, i use Cetaphil Gentle Skin CleanserWash it off and apply toner (I use Bragg's Apple Cider

    Day Two: Skincare

Day Two of my skincare routine: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser (morning and night) Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid toner (morning and night) Mario Badescu Drying Lotion (morning and night, depending on daytime schedule) I love this gentle skin cleanser guys. if you've ever tried high-end cleansing milks, this is highly comparable. So as an update from yesterday, my skin is feeling so much less tight and the peeling seems to be almost gone completely (after a whole week). I washe

    Day One: Skincare

Skincare changes began tonight: 7/9/2016 I quit panoxyl 10% and my persa-gel 10 (although it's a great spot treatment, it's too irritating). I used vaseline on my face and neck to help bring in moisture due to cracked and excessively dry, flaky skin from benzoyl peroxide. I washed that off with cetaphil gentle skin cleanser (a holy grail product) I currently will be using 3 products for the next 2 weeks. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser (morning and night)
  14. Acne Status: I went to the dermatologist today to check in, get my blood work done, and refill my prescription! I’ve been getting used to the dryness and occasional flare-ups and things are slowly but surely starting to clear! My dermatologist increased my dose of Accutane to 80 mg a day (Two 40mg capsules per day). Not sure how I feel about this, but hopefully it’s a good thing. My chest is SOOO clear right now it’s so nice feeling confident in my swimsuit! My back is getting better, but still
  15. "Why?" That's the biggest question of all. "Why do I have to deal with this? Why me?" As a licensed Skin Care Specialist (Esthetician) whom battles hormonal acne I know the struggle all too well. Given the career I work in, one might assume I have nearly flawless skin but that is far from the truth. All hormonal acne sufferers know, it's beyond frustrating to deal with acne. But, as someone who is supposed to be a skin care and acne guru, it's just plain humiliating and confidence DESTROYING
  16. So, my endo. appt went really well! I explained my symptoms to my doctor and he said that he is almost certain that I have PCOS. He wants me to do some lab work to confirm that I don't have anything else going on, but he started me on 50 mg on Spiro that day. It's only been a few days, so I haven't noticed any change in my acne yet. I have been urinating a TON(Spiro is a diuretic), and my migraines have been much worse. I already drink plenty of water, but I guess I need to start drinking more b
  17. So I'm dong OK I suppose. I fucking picked again. It's been harder to stop than I imagined it would be. I like to think I have good self- control. I became a vegetarian when I was 13, I pulled myself out of my alcoholism that I've had since I was 14, I overcame my OCD on my own when I was 10(officially diagnosed later on), but I can't stop picking. It's very frustrating. I'm starting to think my picking is actually a manifestation of my OCD, because it is quite obsessive and senseless in nature.
  18. I'm feeling ok today. I woke up to 3 new(but small) pimples today. I'm assuming it's from the sugar I ate a few days ago. *Sigh* I also went out drinking last night(something I rarely do now), so that could be a cause too. I did a clay mask today, followed by a manuka honey mask so I'm hoping to see a reduction in blemishing tomorrow. Aside from the new breakouts, my skin appears to be a lot healthier. I drank a cup of matcha green tea this morning, and I plan on drinking another cup before bed.
  19. I'm feeling really good today. I've been doing a manuka face mask every day and it seems to be helping a lot. I woke up to less breakouts today and overall my skin is much calmer since I've cut out all my acne products. I did eat a candy bar today and yesterday because I'm pmsing pretty badly. I really hope that doesn't result in a bad breakout especially because my skin is just now starting to heal but I just couldn't resist lol.
  20. Hi everyone. Just joined this website earlier and this is my first blog/conversation. I am 21 years old and have had acne since the age of about 14. At the start of February I was prescribed Accutane and I first started taking the drug on February 6th 2016, so that will be 16 weeks on the drug tomorrow (about 4 months). Bottom line.. MY SKIN IS STILL BAD AND IM STILL BREAKING OUT, my derm is calling then 'pustuals'. Now don't get me wrong my skin is getting better in certain areas (forehead and
  21. Can't believe it's been 4 weeks already! Just two days under a month and i'm really happy with my skin the past few days. This cheek in particular has cleared up loads and is a lot less red than when I compare it to pictures I took a month ago! This cheek is always the worst with my acne but I can also see an improvement here when I compare it to a month ago.

    DAY 19

Nothing new to note. I'm almost 3 weeks in and I haven't had any dryness of the face that's worth noting yet, starting to wonder could I just get really lucky.. But I don't want to jinx it! My lips haven't dried one bit! My lip balm is really good though

    DAY 17

My scalp is so dry now, has anybody got any recommendations for something to put on it? The problem is right at my hairline and there's a lot of flakiness. The only part of my face that's dry are my cheeks, my lips haven't gotten dry yet! Thankfully.

    DAY 16

Still dry, very hot in Dublin at the moment and the heat is making me even more tired. Trying to keep my face out of the sun at all times.

    DAY 13

Nothing much to say once again haha! The spots on my chin aren't as big today, that's the only thing I've noticed! I I think because I take my tablet so late in the evening after my dinner which is usually half 7, I'm sleeping through a lot of the tablet being in my system so I'm not feeling too many effects yet, I haven't had pains in a while! And taking it straight after dinner I think soaks up a lot of the tablet so I'm not having too my dryness (I don't want to speak too soon though!
