  1. Yesterday I took the plunge and posted here for the first time. Acne (however mild) has been 'my secret' for about a year now. I realize people know I have it, but I don't talk about it to others and they don't mention it to me. First of all i'd like to mention the help I've recieved from this website. By reading what Dan has to say and what other memebers have had to say, has really helped me a lot - you guys are so knowledgeable. All I can say is thank the lord one of us is, I still have a
  2. My dermatolagist perscribed me Differin 0.3 due to an insane amount of whiteheads and bumps on my cheeks and forehead. I just started my third week and so far I'm not noticing any changes except for peeling and itchiness, especially on my cheeks and chin. As well, my face is quite red and bumpy. I have TONS of whiteheads/pustules on my cheeks, which are really embarrassing, so I inevitably use foundation to cover them and the redness a bit. The makeup I use is Almay Clear Complexion. It is non-c
  3. I have to say, I'm having trouble seeing any difference in my skin. There was hope for a while, but now it seems like it's back to the way it always was. Here's Week 2 from the "What To Expect" section on the Regimen page: 1. Further clearing, followed perhaps by a breakout. The breakout clears more quickly than usual. Skin is slightly less red and irritated. Red spots from old acne linger. 2. Clearing, followed by a breakout. Skin is still red, irritated and itchy. Person is conside
  4. Okay! So far so good. Today's going to be interesting, though. It's only been two days, but I'm enjoying this. STILL waiting on Dan's products, but the BP's definitely working it's magic, despite my redness/flakes. I mentioned in my previous post that I accidentally popped a pimple...woops! BUT, I put some tomato juice on it, and today there was minimal redness and absolutely no swelling. Lovely! I was so excited about these results that I made a tomato juice/seed mask this morni

  6. Hi everyone. Last year I started using the acne.org regimen because of cosmetic induced acne/acne cosmetica. I had hundreds of blocked pores that hardly ever came to a head (except for a handful of pimples) and lots of red marks. My chin was very chapped, red and uneven. It looked a mess. I started using The Regimen and it cleared within a few months. So then I stopped using the regimen and went back to my normal habits once clear. I thought everything was great and my skin wouldn't go back

  8. Ever since I became more acne-prone due to both hormones and harsh products that damaged my skin barrier, I simply cannot find a foundation that will offer decent coverage and not break me out horribly. I'm beyond frustrated -- especially since I'm now dating someone and I can't bear the thought of seeing them without makeup like this. You name it, I've tried it -- Clinique, Chanel, Skin Fx, Tarte, etc. Each gave me severe acne, worse than what I normally experience. Case in point: I tried Fi
  9. Hi all, So almost two weeks ago (when my skin was fabulous) I had a sports event at which I decided it was a good idea to paint my face, bright green! It was thick and stayed on for approx 18 hours! Since then I have been breaking out pretty much every day with a few spots here and there and having oily skin! Is this normal?! I have always had sensitive skin but this seems like a long time to still be suffering..... Thanks, C
  10. Something crazy happened this morning. I don't really know what it means, but I'm going to go over yesterday first and try to figure out what's going on as you read this. Alright, so yesterday, I managed to get out of my apartment and hang out with an old friend. It had been a while and I was feeling a little sensitive about my skin, so I gave in and put on my tinted moisturizer. It might be because I've been abstaining and have forgotten the way it normally looks on my face, but wow,
  11. To be honest, I wouldn't recommend that you compare these pictures to my before pictures. I promise my skin didn't get worse! These are much better quality. In the before pics, you can really only see redness, but my skin was oily and a bit inflamed. Now, it's a lot brighter and my breakouts have decreased in size considerably! Today I also bumped up the amount of BP I use daily; I've been using the same amount as the length of the top section of my pointer finger nightly (my skin was a
  12. Hi, I have somewhere between mild and moderate acne and wanted to see if other forum members were like me and found success with the Acne.org Regimen. A description of my skin (see attached pics): Combo & frustrating. I get very dry and flaky (even right now) on my cheeks and chin (where I do most spot treating), but can get oily during the day, especially around my nose and on my upper T zone. Run-of-the-mill mild to moderate acne with associated red marks, hyperpigmentation, uneven ski
  13. Today I had a photo shoot, but unfortunately no personal makeup artist. So, I went to Sephora for a walk-in application. I was really bummed about wearing heavy makeup all day, but I knew it had to be done for the camera. I was even more bummed when the artist slathered Murad moisturizer and Kat Von D foundation all over my face (a very heavy foundation that can be used to cover tattoos as well). Don't get me wrong, she was incredible and I loved the way the pictures came out, but when I loo
  14. I started the regimen last week and have had a weird, I hope, temporary result - tiny dimples where my acne cosmetica is clearing up. I swear I have not picked! Background: over 50 skin-no longer cystic, but will break out in a second from a product with oil. Skin is thinner and more sensitive than when I was young, after years of Retin A, Accutune and Dermabrasion. Had used MD Formulations slightly tinted sunscreen for years with no moisturizer. Don’t wear foundation. Getting a bit dry so start
