    DAY 13

Nothing much to say once again haha! The spots on my chin aren't as big today, that's the only thing I've noticed! I I think because I take my tablet so late in the evening after my dinner which is usually half 7, I'm sleeping through a lot of the tablet being in my system so I'm not feeling too many effects yet, I haven't had pains in a while! And taking it straight after dinner I think soaks up a lot of the tablet so I'm not having too my dryness (I don't want to speak too soon though!
  2. Hello everyone, today is my 66th day , I recently went up to 30 mg from the previous 20mg a day, I think there was a fluke in my last blood test , so I'm very happy this one worked out in my favor, the doctor said I might be on it for a year , unless they can keep using my dosage. So we'll see! But my back still kills but nothing else really , expect dry lips
  3. Here are some photos from the end of week 1. I am breaking out a little more which I thought might not have done, ha! I woke up with a spot by my mouth that wasn't there last night and already came to a head. Fastest ever. New ones on my neck too. The volcano cyst thing on my cheek kind of never surfaced as it normally would have but it's now a nasty red patch. My lips are still dry and I am finding Burts bees the best by far. My nose peeling has calmed down now and next to my nose is a tiny bit
  4. Hey there! I'm gonna try my best to stay positive throughout this post but these last few weeks have been a bit rough. So I'll try not to focus on the bad, as many of us know this is a JOURNEY and no quick fix. It gets worse before it gets better is a VERY true statement. Side effects: dry arms (some white patches are forming on them so I keep them moisturized), body aches (REALLY bad after working out for a day), eye dryness (very slight, I can still sleep in my contacts most nights), and in

    Day 17

Helllooooo, so my nose continues to be dry and a little bloody. My neti-pot is going to become my best friend so I don't look like a 22 year old that still picks their nose. My scalp is already drying out. I'm blonde and I used to barely get away with going 24 hours without washing my hair cause the greasiness would turn me into a brunette but today I actually had to question when the last time I washed it was because it still hasn't gotten greasy! I've been tired/lazy lately but I don't really
  6. So definitely noticing some dryness and my nose has been a little bloody. Lips are gradually getting a little more dry too. But overall the last couple days have been okay. Still getting breakouts daily.
  7. I am just past week 3 and my lips are officially feeling the full side affects of accutane. They are constantly peeling and hurt. I can't really eat anything acidic because it hurts. Even applying aquaphor every 30 minutes isn't seeming to help anymore. I was before too. I am currently awaiting my order of Dr. Dan's Cortibalm. I've heard great things about it and am hoping that that in combination with aquaphor will help! Other than that, my skin has been flaky, but I've been layering lotions

    Day 5

So last night while I was working (5 HOURS LATER THAN I WAS SUPPOSED TO) I got anxious and annoyed so I picked at my face, horrible I know but I won't anymore. There were just so many pop-able ones. Anyways, oddly enough my face looks better today kinda and I've had a bunch of little baby pimples pop up on my checks, nose, and chin. No dryness yet other than potentially inside my nose. Also, my mouth tastes a little weird/different right when I wake up. I wonder if that is related to accutane.
  9. I had acne in junior high/high school but nothing severe, i would get a pimple here or there and it was usually my fault; not washing my face, touching my face with dirty hands, etc. etc. But its when I got put on birth control shot Depo when i was in my late teens/early 20's that's when the cystic acne happened. It was awful. I got those big, ugly, painful ones that would practically ooze if I yawned. I'm embarrassed & ashamed just thinking about it... Queue the doctor (regular doctor), g

    Day 5

Day 5 - Sunday 4th February Took 2 x 20mg pills after brunch. Skin has some dry patches on it, not sure if that is the accutane or its the spot cream that I have applied. Spot on side of my nose squeezed again this morning, few other little sore bumps around my chin and lower cheeks, but nothing major, will have to see if they turn into their usual big and sore selves. Feeling crappy still today but thinking I have a throat infection or tonsillitis, my mum read somewhere that accutane lowe

    day 38

on to month two… My skins been from ok to bad, and when i say "ok" i mean what my skin is on what i would consider a bad skin day..so you can see how it is. My lips have been getting drier but im still putting lip balm on religiously so theyre not too bad. my rosacea is starting to flare up again so that sucks, but at the same time i have to remember that accurate cause redness so i shouldn't be too stressed. Ive had another break out of whiteheads but that could be because of my period comin

    day 3

so day three I've been slathering layer after layer of lip balm and always making sure to have a lot on before i go to bed. I've felt my lips be a bit drier than usual..but at the same time that's probably me just being paranoid . One new whitehead appeared but other than that no new acne. My nose had be looking a bit pink but when i asked my family they said it didn't, again just me being paranoid about everything. i think i might upload some photos that i took of my skin one day before starti

    day 1

so hey everyone, its the 29th of december and i took my first pill yesterday. My derm put me on a dose of 20mg everyday, my weight is 46kg (oh and I'm a 15 year old female). I'm hoping that being on a low dose will reduce the severity of the side effects but i guess we'll see. so far nothing but i guess what can u expect from one day . I've been thinking that if a start having side effects that i really can't take or very uncomfortable with (lots of hair loss, or severe joint and back pain) i w
  14. Progress!!... I am so happy with how far I have come on Accutane. To what my skin was when I started to what it is now is unbelievable! I have not had any cystic acne for at least 2 months now and have only had 3 minor whiteheads within the last month. The dermatologist was amazed at how much progress I have made. He couldn't believe how much the redness had gone down considering I am still on accutane. I has confirmed that I have 1 MORE MONTH LEFT!!! New Makeup... UNBELIEVABLE! After a trip t
  15. Update... I know I have missed a couple weeks, however I haven't had many changes in my skin. It is completely flat and I have only has 1 active pimple last week!!! I find that if I do break out, there are minimal whiteheads and normally occur on my chin. I have not broken out anywhere else!!! The redness continues to fade every day, but I know I will have some scarring to work with after being off Accutane. Dermatologist Update... After seeing the dermatologist last week, he was very impresse

    Day 1

I decided to start this blog because my acne has returned. Four years of clear beautiful skin after accutane here I am again. I wish I wasn't part of that 20% that relapses after taking 5 month of claravis . I started this long acne journey in 2011 after using proactive for years I stopped using it and hell broke loose. I saw my first dermatologist , he prescribed me Retin A at night , Bactrim once a day , and benzoyl peroxide wash in the morning. That worked pretty nice until I stopped taking
  17. This year, I've become increasingly frustrated with my acne since it has started appearing more frequently in strange places - like my forearms, hands, fingers, and stomach. While in the past I put my acne concerns on the back burner, recent events have made fighting this acne a much higher priority. It's at least somewhat socially acceptable to have acne on the face - or on the back and chest - but not other weird places. It's just scary and frustrating to think that I might not have any c
  18. Hey there! I'm a 20 year old female and i'm going to take you along through all the suffering I'm about to endure on Accutane. I'm taking 40 mg of Clarus 3x a week. Here we go Month 1 Week 1-2 - By the first two weeks of starting my treatment I had already experienced some side effects. Week 1 was full of headaches and mild back pain, I also had a nose bleed. Then when week 2 came around I got really sick and ended up developing Bronchitis. It may have been a coincidence but I didn't

    Accutane + Estelle 35

Hi! I've been reading blogs from this site for a couple of months now. I just wanted to ask, I am almost done from my 1st month of taking roaccutane, and 12th day of estelle 35. Just last week, I noticed my acne has been cleared up. But early this week, I noticed the presence of bigger pimples. Is it normal? Is it part of the medication?
  20. Hello! This Friday marks the end of my first week on accutane. My starting dose is 60mg per day ( 1 30mg pill twice a day) which is about 1mg/ kg for me. I have to say, this week has been pretty rough but towards the end, things got better and I am feeling good now! The first day of accutane was fine but the second day I woke up with a mild headache, which is unusual for me. The headache lasted about 3 days on and off and I just felt off. I began to worry so I called the derm and he said th

    First Day

Hi! Iveth here. I decided to make this blog about my accutane process in case there's people out there who need to see some experiences to help them make their decision to go on the medication. A little background information, I have cystic acne. I get big bumps that are underneath my skin that hurt A LOT and i also get whiteheads that are really red and hurt as well. I get them on my foreahead, cheeks, and chin. I've struggled with acne for about 5 years but I've always managed to handle it wit
  22. Active Pimples… I still continue to have a lot of active acne consisting of both painful cysts and whiteheads. Most of my cysts have the red pigmentation even without picking which is very annoying and tend to flare more when I wash my face, UGH! Update of last week’s post… Last week was a very bad week for me that consisted of the worse picking ever. I am happy that the swelling has gone done as well as some of the redness which I thank to ice, salt water and aloe Vera plant. My lower ba
  23. Just took a shower this morning and looked in the mirror and in horror my whole scalp is peeling. I don't know if I maybe burnt my head on holiday but it looks like I have dandruff all over my head . If anyone has had the same thing please let me know as I haven't seen anything like this on the side effects sheet i was given.
  24. OH SH#$%T, I Picked… For a compulsive picker to say, “I will never pick/pop a pimple again” is probably lying. It takes a lot of time to break a habit especially when acne is painful and contains a lot of pressure that can be easily released with a squeeze. That being said, IT WAS THE WORST DECISION! Over the past week, I developed two cysts side by side on the right side of my forehead and the pressure was unbearable. I also had 2 cysts on my cheek that I have had for the past 2 weeks and they
  25. It's been around ten years since I finished my course of Isotretinoin (Accutane). Here is the blog I made at the time: https://www.acne.org/forums/topic/220074-my-amazing-accutane-log-finished/ Back then I was extremely shy, self conscious, and had zero confidence. Probably quite typical for a teenager but I'd say the acne really held me back from developing myself and gaining the confidence to be who I wanted to be and do what I wanted to do. I obviously don't know how my skin would have b
