  1. In a bit of a dilemma dealing with skin issues… I might be one of the guys that has to go through an Accutane cycle once a year to remain clear, so 2 weeks ago, started taking 60mg daily, with a 120mg dose one of those days of the week (to accelerate the process—total broscience). In the meantime, trying to figure out how else my flare-ups/irritation/inflammation can be minimized…. Maybe I just have overactive sebaceous glands, which Accutane uniquely treats and is very effective at minimiz
  2. hi everyone .. I'm a 15 year old girl with moderate-severe acne and I've had acne since I was around 11. I turned 15 last august so am around 15 and a half now. nothing and I mean NOTHING got rid of my acne over these years, I literally tried everything, so I went to a derm and asked what I could do. he offered me Accutane. obviously at first I was a bit sceptical about going for it because of all the reviews, but then I was so desperate for my acne to go away that I figured i'd try everything.
  3. So I stopped using accutane 6 months ago and my skin is clear i just have some whitehead on my nose sometimes but thats not really bad , but i’m st Really scared when i want to eat something unhealthy, like today i ate a chocolate and i feel really guilty about it i’m scared that my acne would come back now that i’m off accutane So can you eat whatever you want after you off of accutane or still you need to be careful?

    day 1 - 25 accutane

I have had acne since age 10! It is mainly hormonal and oily spots. I basically been on anti-biotic for 6 year trying to treat it but its persistent! My acne compared to some cases ive seen is mild. I have lots of little pimps on my forehead, cheeks, and breakout regularly in some puss spots but no cysts etc. However i thought i'd grow out of acne but 8 years on it's still persistent! I always denied accutane as i was young and didn't want to deal with the side effects like dry skin and mood swi
  5. So quick backstory, I am 14 and I've had acne for a few years now. It was at it's worse last winter and has calmed down a lot since then but I still have scars and pigmentation problems along with the occasional fresh breakout. Most of my acne is just on my cheeks. I started breaking out a bit on my chest, though. That's kind of alarming to me because I've never had acne there. I've tried every medication, topical treatment, antibiotic, laser treatment, and acne peel. I've been through numerous
  6. Hi readers, I apologize for not updating in awhile, but I hadn't had much change to write about until now. I just entered my 4th month on Zenatane and have noticed a few new things. First off, my skin is about 99% clear right now! Its a wonderful feeling to be able to just walk outside without any makeup on and feel confident. I have noticed some minor scaring and a few very tiny ice pick marks but I am trying not to be too concerned about them because I know isotretenoin can make scars more
  7. No. Seriously. WHAT IS THIS ISH ON MY LIPS it won't show up in pictures very clearly, but its there. they start out like tiny little clearish/lip colored bubbles/bumps on my lips... theres more. WTF is this. when i stretch and examine my lips i can see little specks underneath the skin or something. i think this is almost worse than acne. Im not stopping the regimen but please somebody, if you have had this and know how to get rid of it please tell me? I honestly can't leave my room. I know t

    Day 1~2

I decided to document my 6 months journey on Oratane (isotretinoin) and I just this website so I decided it'll be done here! I'm 21 years old and I had acne ever since I reached puberty so it's like since ever! Honestly my acne was never so bad. I had the normal few on my face, but it was when I was in the 8th grade when I had a horrible breakout on my arms, they were tiny pimples and there was at least a couple hundred of them on each arm, they were so small and harmless I thought they'd go

    Day 3

A few pimples came to the surface, but this seems pretty normal since I pretty much always have pimples coming and going 24/7. I'm just hoping this is my skin purging the bad stuff and then it'll start to clear up! I'm still not that dry - I MAY be producing a little less oil? I just don't feel the need to blot my face with a tissue in the bathroom nearly as often and I feel like I don't look as shiny as I used to. I think my lips might be a little dry? Still not a huge difference, I'm just tryi
  10. So I only have about 2 or 3 days left on accutane and I'm pretty nervous to go off. I've had persistent chest acne for years so the point where before going on accutane I hadn't gone out in public with a v neck or anything that showed my chest for a solid two years. It's been my biggest insecurity. My chest cleared up instantly on accutane and I can finally not worry about what to wear because I don't have to find something that covers my chest. But as my treatment is coming to an end in noti
  11. Hey guys! I'm so glad to be getting some feedback on this blog from you! I am more than willing to answer any and all questions you wanna ask me, so please never hesitate to leave comments! Anyways, I'm approaching my last week of month 2 and I'm starting to see some real results...hooray! After increasing my dosage to 60mg, I did experience another initial breakout which was a bit disheartening but totally normal. As of now, my forehead is a bit of a war zone again but below my eyebrows
  12. I currently have no acne on my face. It's smooth and clear. Last week i had a little lump on my cheek but it went away in two days. Perhaps it's all better because of my new regimen: clean and clear BP 10% during the morning, regular Clean and Clear facewash at night followed by Rentin A. It dries my skin after each wash but then oil returns but i have to say, my face isn't as oily as before the 2nd course of accutane AND DEFINITELY not as oily as before as the first time i used accutane.
  13. This week has been pretty tough for me. I'm not sure what happened, but I went through some serious episodes of sadness and crying spells for about two days. I was extremely upset about the scarring on my back and the fact that it happened to me. I sat in my bed and cried and felt empty and distant, only getting up to use the bathroom and to eat. It's probably the medication. Although it has been making me very upset, I have to push through and keep my head up so I can get over this. Today I had
  14. Hi guys. I'm 20 and I have had acne now for 3 nearly 4 years. Im from the UK so some things may be different from people in other places, but I have tried every thing for my skin, Silver sirum, antibiotics, topical treatments, facials, Manuka honey, cutting out sugar and dairy and more. Literally everything! Ive always come on acne.org and read peoples blogs so now I've FINALLY been given accutane, I thought I would share my journey with you below ive posted photos of my skin before I started
  15. Everything was good until now-okay well like 4 days ago. I’ve always had oily skin so I got all excited about dry skin and my makeup staying on my face for once. But alas-I prepared. I asked my derm, I researched though so many blogs on here and found your favorite products. I got the biggest tub of aquaphor, a medium sized tube, and two small tubes-because Accutane is the bible ya’ll swear on in acne court. I got a huge tub of ceraVe cream and cetaphil face wash because my derm said they wer
  16. Thought I'd give a short little update on my progress. I was on Epuris from November 2014 until mid-February 2015. I stopped my treatment about 20 days before I was supposed to, because I just couldn't do it anymore. My mental state was just not... the best during these months. It was probably unrelated to the medication, but I believe that the medication may have just topped it all off. Anyway, as per my last post, I'm in such a better place. You'd be surprised how much happier you are whe
  17. It’s been a month since I took my last accutane pill. I was on 20,40,55,55,55,55. I just wanted to share my experience with the drug as, for me, it didn’t impact my life at all. I would point out that I do think my spots will come back. I’ve had a few that have crept up already BUT my skin is looking beautiful most of the time. I’m currently using differin gel at night too. I go out without makeup, my friends have said it looks incredible and with makeup it looks insane! I’m so so happy I
  18. Hi there I’m 16 years old and weigh 54kg. I’m on 40mg of accutane per day and going into my 5th month. The big problem is I’m seeing no results on my face. It cleared my back within the first month but after that it has given me painful acne on my cheeks that I’ve never had before. (Only ever on my forehead). When will this finally work and what should I do to speed it up?
  19. So about 20 days on accutane i was at the gym and i was deadlifting and i herniated a disk in my lower back. Since then i have had extreme pain in my entire back. When i pick up weights and drop them the pain is excruciating. I had to get off accutane after 2 1/2 months cause the pain was so bad as well as the joint pain when i attempted to take it easy while working out. Every second of my day, i am overwhelmed with pain in my back wether im sitting or standing. Please help me, its been 3 month
  20. Hey everyone, I know ive posted about this before but I’m getting desperate for some solutions/ feedback. I’ve been off accutane for what’ll be 3 months here on April 4. My cheeks and nose are always at least pink/ red. I also flush probably about once a day in which my cheeks turn a dark red/purple. My face was never red and I definitely never flushed prior to accutane. I played a lot of sports and could play 3 baseball games in the middle of summer and keep a normal skin tone the entire time.
  21. What’s up guys, So I took accutane back in 2015 due to my major acne on my chest back and face. I was on 40ml zentatane. All was fine only had the minor side effects dry skin, lips and rashes from the pill on my arms but went away. All acne cleared I was exited but then now I the beginning of 2019 out of no where bam back at it again acne relapse. So I go back to my dermatologist and was prescribed again accutane but this time the generic version was Claravis. Idk if generic brands differ b
  22. This whole time I was eagerly waiting to start month 4 because during my last round I took photos as often as I could remember and it w after month 3 that I noticed a definite improvement in my skin. And, I can say that has held true! I don’t have any major breakouts. I don’t still have quite a few very small unnoticeable comedones on my chin that I honestly don’t know if they’ll ever come to surface if I don’t aggravate them. I sort of want them out, tho. Is it worth the break out and potential
  23. Maybe I'm imagining it, but I feel like last time I was on Accutane I saw more improvement at this point. Today is the end of Week 3 and while my hair and skin is less oily, my lips are on fire, my acne remains very much present and angry-looking. Last time I was on 60mg; this time I'm on 50. Maybe the difference in dosage really makes that much of a difference. No side effects, aside from dry lips. I have a blood test coming up on Thursday and I'm dreading it. When I was on Accu
  24. I had a small breakout on both my weeks this week but I think it has to do with the fact that I’m during ‘that’ time of the month. There was one huge one on my left cheek to that was so painful and it was blind too which makes it worse! Eyes and lips extremely dry to the point that I have to put in eyedrops a couple times a day to refresh them and I put on caramex at least 20 times a day!!
  25. Recap: 20mg in the morning; 30mg in the evening. Female, 32, cystic hormonal acne. Second time on Accutane. My skin hasn't improved at all, in that there is still a stead influx of breakouts, consistent with before I started the medication. What has changed is that the breakouts are far less painful and shrink more rapidly. I can have a massive cyst form on Day 1, and by Day 3 it's already on its way back down. My oiliness has remained consistent with pre-Accutane, so I continue to use my
