    Accutane Log Week 5

Day 35! I am currently finishing up my first week of month 2. I stopped spiro last week and since have had a breakout of like 3 cysts. not fun & not pretty. I am scared that without the spiro the cysts are going to be bad but I pray that the Accutane keeps them at bay. So this week did bring 3 active cysts but I am trying to stay positive. As for dryness, my face is not that dry. My body is dry, and some areas on my nose and by my ears are dry but I have been really really good about moist
  2. Hello everyone! I'm about to start my 2nd course of accutane and I figured I might as well keep a log of my progress. I suppose I should start this off by saying I don't really need to take accutane again. Before my first course I had moderate to severe acne and definitely needed to take it, but the first course cleared me up nicely after being on it for roughly 6 months and for a while after finishing I didn't break out at all and everything was good. That was 2 years ago. Since then my acne ha
  3. Hey everyone, I've been lurking for a couple of months now, finally got the urge to post my own log. I'm a 28 M, had very clear skin until I was 23. Never really even had a single breakout up until then. About a year after I graduated, I decided to forgo the standard corporate route and decided to try to start my own business. After an extremely stressful deadline for a project, I started breaking out, and it hasn't stopped since. I've tried changing my diet to the point where I'm only
  4. Hi there! I was wondering if anyone could help me answer a few questions regarding accutane. Im on month 2, taking one pill in the morning and one at night = 80mg a day. The first month I was only on 40mg. My skin has had some unwanted effects to it though. My face wasn't acne free after the first month so my doctor wanted to up my dosage. Now my face is scabby. I didn't think I had any cuts or anything? But there are scabs all over for some reason. My ears also flake constantly even though I

    Accutane Log

My Accutane Log! Hello and welcome to my Accutane log! I am 5'9" and weigh 135 lbs and am female. I have had moderate acne since I was 13. My acne is not exactly cystic, but is rash-like--spreading over certain parts of my face and stubbornly staying for long periods of time. I would also say that I had plenty of closed comedones, which are incredibly frustrating because they give your skin a rough, bumpy look that is especially embarrassing in the sunlight. Not too mention the ugly, swollen pr
  6. Hi all, I will be starting accutane in one month -- just signed the papers and did my first pregnancy test yesterday to get the ball rolling. This decision has been a long time coming and was not without intense consideration and deep thoughts. Here is my history -- have always struggled with mild, yet persistent acne since my teens (mix of cysts, pustules, black heads). I went on course of accutane at 22 years old that cleared me up beautifully for 3 great years. In 2014, I stopped BC pil
  7. Hello everyone! I'm really excited to start this log...there has been so much emotion surrounding starting accutane that I'm happy to have a release, and maybe to help some people along the way like so many of the other logs have helped me! Here's my acne history: (a little long, but in case you're curious) I'm a 24 year old female, and have been struggling with acne for the past 12 years. It was relatively moderate in high school, and I did my first round of antibiotics that cleared it up
  8. Short background story so I don't bore people. I've had acne since I was in 6th grade but it was never severe. I've gone to lots of dermatologist but nothing ever seemed to clear up my skin completely. I always had like 1-3 pimples at a time and during that time of the month is when i had 3-4 pop out. In 2016 my acne got so much worse thats when I went to a new dermatologist and she decided to put me on isotretinoin. I was given 30mg for the first month along with prednisone (20mg pills twice a

Hi, I'm Amanda!! I'm 17 years old and about to start my senior year of high school. I've been struggling with acne since 6th grade, but it wasn't nearly as bad then. I've tried Doxycycline (Doryx) and I've gone on and off of Augmentin (Amoxicillin) and recently took Prednisone for a month. Prednisone helped clear me up some but obviously I couldn't stay on it for long term because it's a steroid. Right now I'm on Augmentin and in a month I'm going to start Accutane. Augmentin seems to work well
  10. Hey everyone, I am an 18 year old male, and I have recently been prescribed 60mgs of accutane (2 30mg pills of Clavaris morning and night). I am on my 5th day, which is early, but I think I am beginning to see results. My face is less inflamed, and much less red. I have been on just about every product before accutane, so it definitely seems like a last resort kind of option. Considering I am a freshman in college, I really tend to blame acne on basically any shortcomings I have. It's

    28/f, 80Mg A Day

Hi all, Erin here. Currently on day 3 -- two 40mg pills, once in the morning and once in the evening (with food). So I went through the ipledge process about 6 years ago, and then freaked out when i actually filled the first prescription and never took more than a handful of pills. I was 22 then... At 28, I'm finally got sick of having acne so I went back to the derm. My acne started when I was 12 or so on my face, then around 20 it also started on my chest, then back. 16 years later --
  12. Hi everyone! I've been lurking around this forum for a while now so I decided to join in and share my experience with you. My story: i'm 21, I've had acne for 10 years. I've been on all kinds of medications and creams and gels ... and doctors. (Actually, if you check Wikipedia's article on Acne vulgaris and scroll down to the bottom of the page, where it says "Acne-treating agents", well I've been on most of the things mentioned: Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic acid, Tetracyclines, Clindamycin...
  13. Hello, My name is Tommy and I am 30 years old. I have been struggling with acne since I was 12. I have been on a few rounds of tane but they were always low doses and only for short periods of time. The last time I was on accutane was five years ago, prior to that I hadn't been on accutane for awhile and my skin looked absolutely amazing! Then it started and just spread like a disease...mainly just on my forehead and temple regions, nowhere else. Anyways, about a year ago my skin erupted
  14. Hi everyone, so im starting this log 2 months into my treatment! A bit late but I thought I could really use some moral support from users going through the same thing. I mild/moderate acne since the beginning of highschool, definitely hormonal seeing as I get baaaadddd breakouts during my period. Tried minocycline...worked alright but never clear. Acne has been a hindrance in my life preventing me from doing things that I want to do. I;m on 40mg a day & 120lbs So right now lets

    Accutane-I Believe In You!

Hey guys. I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm BMarie, and am an 18 year old girl. I have had moderate acne for six years on my face, back, and chest, and in the past couple of months has turned severe. I had a lot of changes in my life (diet changed, not as much exercise, starting school, PMSing, good friend very sick in the hospital). Needless to say, it was very stressful and my face exploded. I've been going to the dermatologist since August of 2011 to get rid of my acne. I've tried multi
  16. Hello everyone, So I took my first dose of ISO today (absorica- 40mg), and I couldn't be more...excited? Terrified? One of the two. Anyhoo- in the tradition of Acne.org logs, here is my background: I am a 26 year old female with Moderate acne. I've suffered with acne since puberty, which has oscillated from mild to moderate to seriously moderate (do I have to say severe?!) as of late. About this time last year, it started to get really bad again after I went off birth control (I know, cliche.

    Accutane Log

So this is probably in the wrong section but I'm not sure where to post it so whatever I started Accutane on February 8, 2012. I have just finished my second month. I started on 20 mg for the first month and on the second month I was put on 40 mg. In the first month I had a pretty bad IB and when I was upped to 40 mg I had another IB but not as bad as the first. First month side effects: Some dry skin, flaky hair, joint pains, back pains, mood swings, low energy Second month side

    Accutane Journey / Accutane Log

This is my first post. so hello everyone! I am 23 years old and have been dealing with acne since high school, i have tried almost every topical, pill, otc, prescription, diet, and home remedy you can think of. I am 5'4" and weigh 110lbs. I am just looking for support, advice, and comments as I go through this accutane journey. I am 19 days in and will be on accutane for a total of 5 months. During the first week of 40mg my skin was doing well, it seemed to clear up a little bit and the oil was
  19. Hello everyone. I've been a long-time lurker on this site and wanted to share my own personal struggle with acne and Accutane with this community by keeping a daily log on my progress and journey with acne and treatment. Here's a little background: I'm a 19-year-old college student who has struggled with acne since I was about 15 years old. I grew up my whole life in Southern California, and though my face was not perfect, my acne was not severe enough for me to even consider taking Accu
  20. DAY 1 Hey everyone! I started 'Tane last Thursday at 40mg with the brand Claravis. I started a online journal with Weebly so it will always be able to keep my pictures, sometimes after time I've noticed pictures don't work on this site. I always want to keep track of my journey! If you want to see my photos go to my blog, the link is on my interests on my profile. But other than that I will just copy and paste my weekly symptoms on to this log! It's going to be nice to have a community behin

    Accutane Log

Okay well I just made an account on here to share my experience as I progress on Accutane. I realize there are hundreds of these logs, so I am doing this as a benefit to me since many people seem to have taken it already. I would appreciate any tips now, or if you decide to follow at any point. I would really appreciate it. Anyways, I guess I am supposed to put a little bit about me. I am 17 year old male (going on 18 in 2 months). My acne started in seventh grade, and it hit hard. I went fro
  22. Hello, I am new here. I've had mild acne since last year. Never has acne before hence when my skin broke out, it was pretty depressing. Changed dermatology couple of times because acne keeps coming back. Resorted to accutane. My derm prescribed me nimegen another form of accutane. I am 25 years old and weighs 45kg. Hence for the first month I started with 10mg a day. I'm at my 4th week and derm increased my dosage to 20mg a week. First two weeks I had no IB and my skin looked great. 3r
  23. Hey all, As you've already read, I'm a 34-year-old female starting Accutane. This will be my second course. I took the stuff 14 years ago in college to battle severe cystic acne. The cysts came back about six years later and I've been at war with them ever since. Luckily, this time around there weren't as many on my face at once (they just made up for that by being bigger and more painful). And honestly, as hard as it was to have acne in my teens, it's mortifying as an adult in the workplace

    Accutane Week 9 Update

Here I am at week 9 -- just over 2 months, hard to believe! 3 months to go! I am still not clear but I am hopeful I am getting there. Still getting small tiny pimples that end up resolving in 2-4 days. Some of my 'under the skin' bumps are still hanging out and I think that it will just take a couple more months for them to go away on their own. At times I will feel like it has definitely kicked in and I am looking clear, then I will sometimes get these small (rash like) bumps that sho
