  1. I have started using Acanya in the mornings and Ziana at night. The Acanya tingles a bit after drying. Makes the skin a bit dry. Be careful not to put on too much, I use a very small amount, less than pea size. I add moisturizer about 20 to 30 mins after applying the Acanya. I now can wear my skin comfortably without makeup. Its not perfect but it looks smoother since using Acanya and it looks very healthy. No new breakouts in the last week.

    Ziana Gel

My progress on Ziana Gel. Ive attached pictures to show how my skin looks after every week or so. I started Ziana December 1 2014, I experienced burning sensation sometimes due to using too much of the product. Not too much peeling, but I have oily skin. I didn't experience dryness, again due to oily skin..I believe. Ziana started working for me instantly. Reduced breakouts and helped breakouts heal faster, also helped dark spots shrink at a decent pace. Since using Ziana, I dont have t
  3. My derm has put me on Acnaya, and I go back to see her in a few more work to discuss my progress with it. My skin has really approved with the acanya, but I'm still getting spots ): I really don't want to stop using the Acnaya because it does help prevent new spots and it heals spots really fast! I may see even better results in the next few weeks, but I think I'm going to talk to my doctor about putting me on a 2nd medication to work with the Acanaya gel. Does anybody have any suggestions?
  4. Pimple update: I've had two other small pimples that have come and gone - one by my hairline on my forehead and one on my jawline. Then, two days ago I started getting a pyodermic faciale big cyst. A BIG ONE. Dark read and throbbing. It is smaller today and still closed because I no longer pick at my face. Ever. Acanya: I'm still putting Acanya on pimples when they surface. I'll do this until my skin becomes too flakey. I think it helps them go away quickly. Accutane Side Affects: Sun-se
  5. Hey everyone! I've been tracking my skin for more than a year now, and I finally have the skin I've been dreaming of (REGULAR NORMAL SKIN haha). I thought I'd post my progress and gallery here, hoping it might help anyone who was on the same journey or has had similar side effects. Things I went through, got rid of, or kept forever: Yasmin Differin 0.3% Retin-A 0.025 Doxycycline 100 mg Sronyx 1% Clindamycin 5% Benzol Peroxide Acanya First Aid Ultra repair Cream
  6. Okay, so I guess I should give a little background first. I'm a 21 year old female, I've always dealt with very, very mild back acne and occasionally a few pimples near my collarbone where my sports bra sits (I run a couple miles for exercise every day, but take a shower right after). Anyway, I started taking birth control about 10 months ago (ortho tricyclen) and like clockwork, every 2nd or 3rd week of the pack i would break out in tons of tiny red pin-prick looking acne spots on my chest an
  7. For the past few months my skin has been breaking out horribly. I have mild to moderate acne, and I have found routine that has kept me clear for almost a month now!! Product I have been using are: Cetaphil cleansing bar St. I'ves apricot scrub Oatmeal. (I rinse my face last with oatmeal after the last two products. Helps redness!) Sea Breeze as my toner A mixture of tea tree oil and extra virgin olive oil. Acanya gel And then moisturize with Cetaphil moisturizer. I'm so happy
  8. So, let me give you a little history on my acne. I've had acne since I was about 14. Since then, I've always worked hard to keep it at bay and had been successful. Until I turned 25. I don't know what happened, but I started to get these tiny bumps all over my face. It progressively got worse over the span of a year, and it led me to visit a dermatologist. The derm said that it seemed to be hormonal, and proscribed me 50mg of spironolactone, Acanya in the AM, and Atralin at night. My init
  9. Hi guys I'm new to this forum, and hopefully you guys have a lot of experience and can enlighten me with the proper way to apply my acne regimen. Background In highschool I had very bad acne I went from medicine to medicine, but nothing would work. The dermatologist finally took me off and made me get on acutane. I was on actuane for 6 months and I was acne free. It left a lot of scars unfortunately, but that didn't bother me that much. Skip forward 2 years later Present Acne wasn't a pr
  10. Hello! The purpose of this blog is to document my struggle and (hopefully!) my acne cure. I've had acne-prone skin since I was about 15 years old, and am currently 28. Here's a quick recap (you can skip this part if you don't want the long version ) --- From 15 - 18: struggled with various breakouts that would get better with drug store-brand topical medication, but I was also VERY bad about picking at my face so I think it made it much worse. Started birth control when I was 17. From 19 - 24:
  11. Wondering if anyone in your family is using a PRESCRIPTION topical ACNE drug product (list below of some brands but you might have a generic version which is fine too). If so I'm trying to find out the "shelf life" of various products so as to determine which is best for me. If you still have original outer packaging that the tube/pump came in, it should have an expiration date on it. Please respond and note: 1) the brand/generic name 2) product form (gel, cream, foam, whatever) 3) the m
  12. Hey guys. I wanted to share with you the skin that I had before I was a tretinoin user, and this is my skin now. I was perscibed a medication to take during the day but Tretinoin is what saved me, I want you guys to see for yourselves. Be patient and wait 6 months and you won't be dissatisfied. The last two pictures are my skin now, and this is what I consider a breakout to me (I have two blemishes and I consider it a breakout, that's how good tretinoin is for acne) good luck :)
  13. Background: I'm a freshman in college. I've never had horrible acne, just moderate pimples showing up here and there, but it's gotten worse in the last two months. I have Keratosis Pilaris on my cheeks and so acne doesn't show up there, just on my forehead and chin. I've been using the Olay Pro-X brush for about a month now, and I don't think it's making my skin any worse, but it's certainly not making it better. One thing I'm beginning to suspect that is causing acne is the baby powder I us
  14. I had my first dermatologist appointment today. The doctor perscribed me Acanya for my mild to moderate acne that is mostly concentrated around my jaw line and chin area. I have to wait about a week before my perscription comes in the mail... bummer. I would love to know someones experience with this product! Keeping my fingers crossed that it will help clear up my face (:
  15. I'm on my 3rd week of using Acanya gel. I really like it so far, but I'm still getting spots on my face. I have mild acne, and before using Acanya I would usually have 5 or 6 spots on my face at a time, but now the normal amount is 2 to 4. (Which is amazing!) I have another derm appointment in a couple of weeks and I'm thinking of asking her t put me on something along with the Acanya. Does anybody have suggestions for what would work well with the Acanya? And for those who have used Acnaya, how
  16. Okay to start off, I am a 14 year old male, and I have been suffering from moderate, although in comparison to 99% of the people I see on a daily basis, severe acne, on all of my face, my back, chest, and minimal on the stomach, legs and butt, as well as sever dandruff, it started probably back when I was 11 or 12, but back then I blamed it on bad hygiene, but now I wash my face twice a day using biore deep pore charcoal cleanser using a clarisonic brush once a day, as for my body, I use a Neutr
  17. My first Dermatologist appointment went pretty well (: My skin was super dry and flakey today, thanks to Proaciv. ugh. I also woke up with three new spots on my face.. total bummer. ANyways, My doctor was super sweet and nice! She walked into the room looked at me, and told me how beautiful she thought I was. Self esteem boost.. yay!! she agreed that my acne was mild to moderate, and she ended up prescribing me Acanya acne gel. She also told me to start washing my face with cetaphial ant
  18. Hi, I recently got a cortisone shot about 2.5 weeks ago for a cyst (no pain) on my cheek. After about 3-5 days it has gone completely flat, but still purple/reddish. About a week after I got the cortisone shot, I noticed that the cyst has started to pop up again in the same spot and become red. Also another cyst/nodule right next to it (that was there previously) started to sprout as well. I was prescribed Acanya (again) and Aczone. Been putting Acanya just on the cyst and don't see any real i
  19. So, I'm just over three months into Tretinoin and although I am happy with the results thus far, I am still not where I want to be. This is because I'm still purging in areas where I had the deepest clogged pores. Right now I use Paula's Choice 2% BHA gel in the morning and Tretinoin .025% cream at night. I've been going to the dermatologist for a couple of years now and have been prescribed numerous products, but Tretinoin is the only product I've stuck with! I also have in the medicine cabinet
  20. I went to a dermatologist a few months ago with my acne concerns. I had been to a doctor a few years ago who prescribed Differin, which helped, but I was out of the country for a year and then moved so I needed a new doctor. The new doctor gave me differin for night and Acanya in the morning for spot treatment. I think Differin helps, but I do still need something for spot treatments. The problem is that my skin is sensitive and a bit painful - which I didn't have last time I took diffe
  21. Hi everyone! I'm a male college student who's acne fluctuates greatly. I recently suffered from a nasty blind pimple (cyst?) that wouldn't go away and got it injected with cortisone before I left for college (fun fun!). My acne's especially bad (comparatively) right now, and my derm put me on Acanya gel (clindamycin phosphate 1.2% and BP 2.5%) instead of my normal yet terribly drying 10% Panoxyl BP regimen. He told me to use Acanya every morning and Atralin every evening, but due to my alread
  22. First post on here, kinda hesitant, but I thought it could be positive encouragement to stop picking at my face knowing that the world can see this. But anyways, so I've been using EpiDuo for months now, nothing to complain about except I consistently picked at my face, making the situation worse. However, I wouldn't say I have (or ever had) severe acne. I'd say it's moderate, with at least two active spots daily. Now, I'm switching to Retin-A Micro, since I've had a tube laying around and my mo
  23. Hi Guys, so I've been reading tons of forums about retin a and how it works but I figured I would write my own post and see if anyone else has similar acne. So in middle school, I had closed comedones all over my face! It was seriously so gross and nothing worked. I never went to a dermatologist but I've tried a lot of over the counter like proactive and clean & clear, etc. Anyway, my face cleared as I got older. I seriously had great skin. I never wore makeup and I always got compliments on
  24. Where do you store your Acanya? I was wondering rather or not I should keep it in the fridge.
  25. 20 year old male. Sometimes I break out and sometimes I don't. Honestly, this is how it goes down. I have clear skin and then I go out on the weekend, party/drink a lot/barely sleep at all and then by Tuesday I am breaking out. By Friday I am clear again and the process repeats itself. Terrible I know. Anyways, I am using Differin 0.3% every night and Acanya every morning. Mousturize morning and night. My face seems to always be red. I don't know what it is. I am barely ever in the sun (work ind
