  1. Not much happening. Feel like I have to apply lip balm every 10 minutes all day and I am breaking out in random huge spots all over rather than clusters now. They are those big painful under the skin ones. I am popping them, because of pain and how they look I can't leave them.
  2. I went to dermatology today. It turns out you see the nurse for your pregnancy test, to talk about any side effects and get your prescription. You don't see the derm until the end of month three. I told her about my very dry hands and arms and she told me my dose stays the same until I see the derm. The nurse did say that if my skin continues to be so dry, I will probably stay on a low dose because as long as my total dose is right for my weight it doesn't matter in what way I take it, it will
  3. Hexagon

    Week 9 30Mg

Upped my dose to 30mg, been on this dose for about a week and side effects are still bearable so plan for further up my dose to 40mg soon enough but no more as I believe this would be too much for my weight Got my first cyst since starting the course, two new cysts intact although they've gone down pretty quickly. Noticing an improvement with my pores although I am still breaking out which can be so discouraging but I hear a lot of people talking about improvements really starting to show at m
  4. Hey Guys, Today is my first day of a 5 month course of accutane. I will be taking 30mg per day for the first month and move up to 60mg after that. I'll give updates whenever I feel like it and i'll try to reply to everyone who comments.
  5. Hello there, this is my first blog where I report my improvements using Zinc to treat my persistent, painful acne. Lets get the basics out of the way real quick: - I'm 25, female - currently taking Zinc (as Zinc methionine) 30 mg (OptiZinc by Source Naturals) which also contains Copper (as Copper Sebacate) 288 mcg - also currently taking a women's multivitamin that also contains 15mg of Zinc (as Zinc Oxide) (2+ years) and Yaz birth control pill (8+ years) - I avoid dairy (not lactose
  6. There is nothing to update on really apart from inside my right ear is really dry. Nowhere else on me at all is dry in the slightest just inside my ear. I have had dermatitis in my ears before and I had drops for it so I am going to get some more. Seems the med might have caused it to come back worse. The spots on my skin are leaving bad red marks. I will be devastated if these don't fade they look just as bad as the spots do.
  7. Fresh breakout on my forehead today. I feel though as if there isn't much left to come out now. I don't know why, I just feel it. We will see.
  8. I have decided to update a little less often due to the fact that it will be really long if I keep doing updates every day. Things are still the same as the other day, no improvements, fresh spots as others are clearing up. That huge lump on my chin seems to want to stay there. Can't believe there has been no improvement at all in that one. Just a waiting game really.
  9. Not much happening on the acne front but my arms are getting quite dry still. I am going to ask the derm tomorrow for some cream for them. Tomorrow! 4 weeks already. If the next few months go as well as this I would be happy. Estee Lauder double wear, wow! Where have you been all my (adult) life. It makes my skin look good. Here were some pics. I apply it with a brush and it goes on lovely.
  10. I’ve just completed my second week on 30mg of isotretinoin/roaccutane. I can summarise this week in one word: DANDRUFF. If you’ve been through or are going through roaccuntane, please let me know how it’s going/gone, I love hearing other people’s stories and tips. Likewise, if anyone has any questions for me feel free to ask away! Day 8 Thursday 27th July I had really dry lips when I woke up this morning. I wore make up today too and although it clung to the dry patches a
  11. I had a little squeeze today even though I know I shouldn't have. I could not bear the lump on my chin any longer. It feels better now and I know I am really risking it (scarring) according to a lot I have read online but I just can't leave it. I did notice that when I do have a squeeze there is still loads of oil coming out of my skin, which I am not happy about, and it did put a downer on me. Surly that should have significantly dried out by now? I coloured my hair which I do red and have do
  12. So, I know the GP gives out Aveeno here for Eczema because my little one had it as a baby. I got some on Friday from my local chemist for less than £5 and by today all the dry skin on my arms and hands has totally gone. Amazing. Can not recommend it enough!
  13. Yesterday afternoon the dry lips really kicked in. I feel like I am putting lip balm on all day. I have a painful split down one side which really hurt yesterday evening. Very happy with Estee Lauder double wear coverage. A couple of people have commented that my skin looks nice. If only they saw me without the foundation.
  14. Day 13 today and the dry lips properly kicked in this morning. They aren't just dry they sting too. So I guess the full effect of that took 2 weeks really. My nose is peeling all the way up now and it looks silly, make up can't cover the dryness! My back pain is here today but is worse the more I exert myself so I'm going to take things easy and see if it improves with rest. I was out in the bright sun this morning early for half and hour walking the kids to school, my face is now red q
  15. Today I decided to go for the dosage increase. I have started on 30mg which was prescribed by the Derm. It was off my own back I decided to start with the 20mg rather than the 30mg, due to my mental health history and usual sensitivity to antibiotics and medications. There is nothing much to report really. My skin is dry compared to normal but after the Cetaphil moisturiser I feel greasy for the rest of the day. The tip of my nose is peeling slightly still and my upper cheeks are a little sens
  16. So yesterday I had my dermatology appointment for month 2! I was so excited to get there and get my dose upped as I have had no side effects whatsoever! My dermatologist told me the way to show it is doing its job is to see how much dryness you get in your lips and skin, and as I was getting nothing I was sooo ready to get my dose increased. When I got there I forgot I had to do a urine sample for a pregnancy test and had just gone to the toilet like 5 minutes before my appointment so I could
  17. Hey everyone, i haven't posted for a while, just because there hasn't been a great deal to say. Things have improved since my last (depressing) post, mood wise, not skin wise! My skin is still pretty horrendous, but i am trying to just get on with and not have a breakdown over it. I had weird/ blurred vision for a couple of days but that seems to of subsided now. My lips haven't got dry or chapped yet (hurrah) but they do feel tight whenever my lip balm has worn off. I think because i had read s
  18. Good evening everyone, It is now the end of Day 10, and being that I started this blog a little bit later than when I started I would like to update you guys on what has happened between day 1 and day 10 (today). Day 2 (morning after taking first Accutane pill): I took my first Accutane pill (30mg) on October 17th. When I woke up the next morning, I already woke up with less oily skin and mildly dry lips. I started using Aquaphor on my lips from Day 1. Day 4: My skin was slightly drier, bu
  19. Hi I have had persistant moderate acne from the age of about 13. Im nearly 19 now and I have been on Accutane 30mg a day for 3 months now. I am now in my final month and still getting some large and small spots appearing which are always red and take ages to heal! I was told that I cannot go on a higher dose because of my weight and I am really hoping I won't have to stay on another month! Has anyone else experienced this or is it possible for it to still clear up before the end of th
  20. It's been a few weeks since I last updated this blog, so be prepared for a long one! Right now, without hopefully jinxing it, I have no actives on my face!! It's by no means clear however, unfortunately still some quite persistent lumps from previous spots that just won't go down . I also have A LOT of hyperpigmentation and a few scars so definitely not looking clear by any means. But I honestly can't believe this right now, after just 4 weeks I've reached a point where I am going a good few
  21. I’ve just completed my first week on 30mg of isotretinoin. I honestly thought (hoped) it would take a lot longer for the side effects to kick in – how naïve of me. These updates may be a little chatty and long, but I wanted to give a day to day account so I personally can see when it starts to get bad (and better!). Day 1 Thursday 20th July I was advised to take the tablets with the fattiest meal of the day, so for me that’s with my evening meal. Obviously, no side
  22. Breakouts. Bloody breakouts. I have the biggest, fattest lump under the skin on my chin. It's pissing me off and it hurts. Around my mouth is a mess. Under my jaw is a mess. My forehead is a mess. I really can't see that this is going to work for me. I will add some pictures at the weekend.
