Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash Reviews
Backstory: Short version: I've tried a lot of things, almost all of them work for awhile (6 months to a year) then stop working. Skip to bottom if you just want to know about the product- I'm 32 and have been dealing with pimples since I was a teenager. I have combo skin - oily forehead, chin, nose and dry elsewhere. Now I not only have dark spot scars but also pimples on my cheeks close to my nose, nose, and around my chin. I can cover up pretty good with makeup so most people don't "think" I have bad skin but they have never seen me without. I have tried proactiv (got such bad bumps I needed to go on a steroid cream to get rid of them), for years I was just using ivory soap and benzoyl peroxide cream which worked for awhile then stopped, I switched to Neutrogena clear pore/mask combo which worked for awhile but then I would get painful pimples that I couldn't stop picking at. I have also tried tea tree oil (got bumps everywhere almost instantly), occasionally I use the aztek indian clay mask which is great if my skin isn't too try. I tried the neutrogena soap bar and had a reaction to it. For the past few years I have been using cetaphil antibacterial soap bar (not the pump soap - that made me break out) with witch hazel as a toner and I thought I had found the cure, until a few months ago when that stopped working as well - I thought it was because my skin was just too dried out. So I stopped the witch hazel and used Burts Bees night moisturizer which helped the dryness but didn't help the breakouts as well as using Daily Defense moisturizer during the day. After months of this routine not working, I tried the Aveeno Clear Complexion foam in combo with the moisturizers and it worked!!! Of course, up until a month ago when it stopped working :) my face started getting very red and patchy with no more painful deep pimples, but a bunch of tiny hard surface small ones. Note, I have tried all of things over the span of 15 years. I wanted something to calm my skin so I googled for a natural non drying cleanser and this came up so I thought i'd give it a try... I've been using for a few days -at night in the shower I quickly take my makeup off with the cetaphil antibacterial bar in my hands, then I squirt this Simply cleanser into a gentle exfoliating cloth. In the mornings I squirt it into my hand and massage and rinse. So far, my face feels calmer and a lot of the redness is gone. My skin seems more even. The dry scabby pimpley spots I have are much easier to cover up with makeup and I have not gotten any new spots yet. I'm sure it's only a matter of time but I'm hoping that I can continue to use this to keep my face calm and even and when I get a breakout to just spot treat it instead of treating my whole face. Has anyone used this product? I struggle to find reviews with regards to breakouts. Thanks!
