How often?

The Regimen should be performed both in the morning and in the evening, about 10-12 hours apart.

Try brushing your teeth first. After using The Regimen it’s best to prevent getting anything on the skin around your mouth.

Step 1 - Cleanser

# How Why
1.1 Gently splash your face and neck with warm water from your sink. Or in the shower, allow a gentle stream of warm water from your showerhead to gently splash across your face. This preps your skin for washing. By not rubbing the skin when getting the face wet, you are reducing irritation. Medical research shows reducing irritation is vital to clear acne. Avoid very hot water because it can scald the skin, which can also be irritating.
1.2 Dispense 2 full pumps (4mL) of Cleanser and generously lather up hands with cleanser. Be vigorous and take the time needed to get a good lather going. Using two full pumps of Cleanser will allow you to generate a generous lather, which will allow you to gently move the cleanser over your skin, thus reducing irritation.
1.3 Gently wash problem areas with your bare hands for 10 seconds or less. This may seem different from what you’re used to but do not wash for longer than 10 seconds. Do not use a wash cloth or any other cleansing device, as they are far too irritating compared to bare hands. Cleansing is necessary because it removes surface oils. This allows the benzoyl peroxide (Step 2) to penetrate. Washing for this short a period of time reduces irritation.
1.4 Gently splash your face and neck with warm water until the cleanser is rinsed away. Or allow a gentle stream of water from your showerhead to splash across your face until the cleanser is rinsed away. Allow the water to do the work. Remaining exceedingly gentle, barely touching your skin as you perform The Regimen, is necessary to achieve completely clear skin.
1.5 Using a soft, absorbent towel, gently pat your skin dry, barely touching your face with the towel. Allow any remaining moisture to evaporate on its own. Never rub or scrub your skin dry. When you stay extremely gentle and let the towel do the work, you are again taking necessary steps to avoid irritation.
1.6 Wait until your skin is dry. Letting your skin dry allows the benzoyl peroxide (Step 2) to better absorb.

Step 2 - Treatment (Benzoyl Peroxide - 2.5%)

See dosage chart below. You'll start with a pea size amount of Treatment (Benzoyl Peroxide - 2.5%) and work up to 2 full pumps or a full thick finger's length.

Using an extremely generous amount of Treatment (Benzoyl Peroxide - 2.5%) is the heart and soul of this regimen. When in doubt, use more! Using 2.5% strength benzoyl peroxide allows for maximum effectiveness without the excessive dryness and irritation of higher strength solutions.

# How Why
2.1 Wash and dry hands. This helps remove any oils that may have accumulated on your hands. Exposure to some oils can aggravate acne.
2.2 Dispense the recommended amount (see dosage chart above) of Treatment (Benzoyl Peroxide - 2.5%) and spread it on your face very gently with your fingers. Carefully avoid the delicate area around the eyes. Do not rub. Just allow your fingers to glide over your skin, spreading it around and letting it absorb on its own. Applying this way may take a couple of minutes. If after 3 minutes, the benzoyl peroxide is not fully absorbed, allow the rest to absorb on its own. The more gently you treat your skin, the faster and more completely you will clear up. Allowing the benzoyl peroxide to absorb on its own without rubbing is a crucial step in reducing irritation.
2.3 Wait 5-15 minutes for your skin to dry. Do not rinse off the benzoyl peroxide. Once it is applied, you will leave it on the skin. Treatment (Benzoyl Peroxide - 2.5%) oxygenates skin, dries and peels inside the pore. It is important to give it the time it needs to properly medicate before introducing moisturizer.

Step 3 - Moisturizer with Licochalcone

# How Why
3.1 Wash and dry hands. Washing hands removes any oils that may have accumulated.
3.2 Dispense 2 pumps (4mL) of Moisturizer. When in doubt, use more.

Note: If you have oily skin and 2 pumps (4mL) of Moisturizer will not absorb all at once, try applying only 1 pump (2mL), wait for it to dry, and then apply the second pump. Extremely oily skin may only require 1 pump (2mL) of Moisturizer.
Dryness is irritation. Properly reintroducing hydration to the skin not only eliminates flakiness which benzoyl peroxide can produce, it also helps keep the skin from becoming too dry. It is vital to keep skin in balance. Do not skip this step and do not skimp on moisturizer.
3.3 Apply Moisturizer very gently with your fingers much like you applied the benzoyl peroxide. Avoid the delicate eye area because the moisturizer can pick up the underlying benzoyl peroxide. Do not rub. Allow your fingers to gently glide over the skin. This should take no longer than 3 minutes. If after 3 minutes, the moisturizer is not fully absorbed, allow the rest to absorb on its own. Applying moisturizer this gently and briefly reduces irritation, which is a must to achieve 100% clear skin.
