  1. Although it sounds funny, i do believe there is a correlation between masturbation and breakouts. It's all related to your hormones. This thread DID make me giggle a little, though
  2. Yes, it did wonders for me! I received my very first cortisone injection yesterday afternoon. I had 2 cysts on my left cheek that were there since Thursday. I also had a big nodule on my right temple that just popped up Monday night. The derm told me the same thing before he administered the shot -- that the injection might not help the 2 cysts that have been there for a few days, but it should help the new one. So, he injected the cortinsone into all 3 pimples, put a bandaid on me, then sen
  3. Have you ever done the following because of your acne: - Turned down a date - Avoid talking to people - Turn the other way when someone looks at you - Avoid looking in the mirror because you're disgusted with what is looking back at you These are just a few examples of how acne takes control of my life. I feel helpless. I am 29 years old and I feel way too old for this! At the moment, my skin is actually looking better, but I just have this cluster of pimples on my chin that has been t
  4. realangel -- i see what you are saying, but in my instance, i did not have my child just to feel wanted or loved. i was simply explaining to the originator of this thread that the love that you feel between you and your own child is so great that it cannot be put into words. i know he was saying it only because he doesn't want his kids to go through what he is going through now with acne, but there is so much more to life and love than to just worry about acne. although I do agree that havi
  5. I feel you Moonshine....I have gotten so self-conscious about my acne that I cannot even make eye contact with anyone who talks to me.....I always tend to turn my back to talk to people and then they end up thinking that I am weird....or I'll put my head down to talk to act like I am looking on the ground for something.....anything to try to avoid having people look at my bumpy, red face.... Moonshine, I hope you find something that works for you and clears you up....my best wishes to you.....
  6. Let me tell you all two very important words -- "unconditional love".....imagine someone loving you just for being you, no strings attached.....someone who thinks the world of you no matter how you look or what you do.....it's a different kind of love that cannot be explained until you experience it.....different from the love you receive from your parents, siblings, or other family members..... whenever I feel down and out, my daughter hugs me and tells me she loves me.....just looking at her
  7. If he's going to be that shallow to not date you just because of the way you looked in the past, then he isn't worth it anyways. But, since you say your sister knows him and people say he is sweet, then everything should be fine. Follow your heart. Good luck!
  8. Don't give up. Keep trying new products. Different medications work for different people. Think positive and keep searching for the medication that works for you! Good luck to you and keep your head up!
  9. Thanks for all the input, ladies. Yeah, I agree that the pill probably would be the better alternative for me, but I am really bad at taking pills, and, for the most part, taking them on time. I know I would forget one day here and one day there, and screw myself all up. The injection is only 4 times a year and so easy. I did experience some weight gain when I first started it, but now I am able to maintain my weight. The only concern that I have with the injection is the acne. But Yasmin
  10. Thanks for your input msginger, I really appreciate it. I've never heard of Yasmin, but I'll be sure to check it out! It's been so nice not having a period, that I've just been tolerating this acne. But now it's getting to the point where I have to make a decision on whether or not to stay on Depo. I can't even imagine having to use pads/tampons again!
  11. Have any of you ladies experienced breakouts since starting a specific type of birth control? I've had mild/moderate acne since I was about 12. I am now 29 and have noticed that my acne has gotten worse since starting the Depo-Provera injection. The reason why I wanted this injection (besides the obvious) was because I was told that, in most cases, women stop having their period. I understood that one of the side effects was acne, but I knew a lot of women who were on this injection and ne
