I enjoy growing deeper in my faith and learning more about it (I am a devout Catholic - woohoo!!); I also love to listen to and discover new music; I love my family and friends very much and I love being with them and laughing with them; I am hopefully going to learn to play the guitar soon...so hopefully that will become a new interest of mine!

  1. Hey guys. I just started using Paula's Choice 2% BHA liquid applying it twice a day and within 3 days my skin is SUPER SUPER dry. I am moisturizing with olive oil in the morning and evening and wearing honey mask while I sleep, so it's not as if I am not moisturizing! Has anybody else had this reaction, and did it help to just use it once a day?
  2. Yeah, my pores are so clogged!! They don't usually get like this, but this summer has been so hot and humid and now they are really really clogged. Some of them are definitely extremely deep. I just ordered Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid in hopes that it will help. There are rave reviews for this stuff and its ability to unclog pores and also reduce redness (HUGE problem for me!). I really hope this stuff helps. I am using Neutrogena 2-in-1 Fight and Fade right now, but there is alcohol in i
  3. Hey everybody. I've just started using SA products for the past few weeks and I've noticed that a lot of my blackheads and clogged pores seem to be coming to the surface and some of them are getting inflamed. Is it normal to have a purge/breakout like this? And is this a good thing - does it mean the product is working and my pores are gonna clear up? Also, how long does it usually take for a pore to clear? Thanks for any help.

Day 4 Today I went to my friend's house to take care of her cats and she had some of those Clean and Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets. So, I tried one. Gross! My skin completely drenched thing. Particularly the skin on my forehead. That could explain why my pores are so blocked up there. I am thinking about getting some. I wonder if they really help to control breakouts or if they will just end up making my skin really dry. My skin was OK today. It was really, really hot and really humid
  5. Once again, internet was out yesterday evening, so I am blogging today about yesterday! Day 3 Yesterday my skin was a lot less inflamed in the morning and continued to get better throughout the day. My face has been breaking out a little on the sides and I am wondering if it is because I've been wearing my hair down recently and I usually wear it up. That combined with the extreme heat and humidity could be doing it. I did a pretty good job again of keeping my hands off of my face. I
  6. I didn't get to write yesterday because my internet was down, so I will write about yesterday this morning. Day 1 Today was hard. My face was really inflamed and still a little dry from all the Witch Hazel I'd been using. I also had to babysit today and the kids just kept staring at my skin. I really wanted to cry. It was one of those days where all I wanted to do was sit in my house and not have to face the world. Those days seem to drag on endlessly and they are always the days whe
  7. Thanks for the tips. I was using it while my face was dry - so that could explain it. I was using a moisturizer, but maybe that itsn't enough. I will try diluting it and using it while my face is still wet. Thanks so much!
  8. I always told myself I would never give in to the world of blogs. I have failed. I suppose I never cared about something to write about or never needed to write about in order to find some sort of psychological release. But, as we all know, acne can change that. I've been dealing with acne since I was 11 years old. It was mild for the majority of the time. In the past two years it has gone from moderate to moderately severe to none at all to mild and now back at moderate. I know what I ha
  9. Hey everybody! I just started using Witch Hazel on my skin. It contains 14% natural alcohol, and although it says on the back it won't strip the skin of it's natural moisture, my skin has been really dry (a rarity - it's always oily). Has anybody had Witch Hazel dry out their skin, and if so did you try getting an alcohol free version and was it still effective? Thanks!
  10. This is so wonderful! Thank you for posting the pictures. I can't believe how beautiful your skin looks after just 3 weeks! I am sure that my skin would be 50% better if I just stopped picking and touching it. This is really inspiring. I am also going to try to stop picking. Any tips?
  11. Hi everybody! Recently in order to combat my moderate acne I decided to do a total turn around in the way I was treating my skin and I began using a very very mild cleanser (composed entirely of natural oils and vegetable glycerin). I've noticed that since I've been doing that, my pores have become extremely clogged and I have blackheads everywhere! It has gotten especially bad in the past month as it has been extremely hot and humid outside, thus increasing sweat and oil production. Altho
  12. First, congrats on your skin healing up and on a gorgeous girlfriend! Foods that are high in good vitamin content, such as vitamin C, vitamin A and vitamin E will help with the scarring. You can get all of these from fruits and veggies. Also, good things to put on your face for scaring are apple cider vinegar (organic and unfiltered). Dilute it first, put about 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water. Put that on your face every night. Also, what I have found helps IMMENSELY with clearing up s
  13. I would highly recommend buying a water filter. About 5 weeks ago I purchased and started using a water filter for my showerhead. It filters out the majority of the added chlorine in the water. I have noticed a definite difference in how dry my skin and hair get. I used to get dry skin a lot and my hair has always been frizzy and damaged looking. But, I am noticing a big difference in this ever since I started using the filter. My skin does not get dry anymore (unless of course I put too m

  15. Pineapple is actually very good for the skin. Make sure it is always fresh though! Pineapple, although acidic when taken in, has an alkaline ash value, thus creating an alkaline environment in the body. This inhibits bacteria. It's also loaded in Vitamin C, which is good for the skin. Just like with anything, you don't want to eat it all day long, but one serving a day should be good. Also, if you eat fruit with a meal, make sure to eat the fruit first otherwise it sits on top of all the o
