  1. I've been on Tretinoin cream for several months, haven't used sunscreen at all, and have yet to be sunburned. I haven't been getting excessive sun exposure, just normal daily amounts. My question is, if I'm not getting burned, does that mean I'm OK without sunscreen while on this medication, OR could my skin be getting damaged in non-visible ways, meaning I should use sunscreen anyway? Thanks in advance for the help!
  2. Hi, I'm beginning to use .025% Tretinoin cream. The instructions say to avoid the area around the mouth, but this is where I get many of my pimples (frequently on the border of my lips). Should I apply it there anyway? Have others done this? What is the reason for the instruction to keep it away from this area? Thanks for the help!
  3. Hello, I'm now 7 months post-Accutane, while my skin is still looking great for the most part, I'm all of the sudden getting a bunch of small whiteheads around my nose. In just one day, maybe six or seven of them appeared out of nowhere. Has anyone else experienced this? The only thing I'm doing for my face is washing with Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleaner once a day. Should I increase this to twice a day, or should I try a stronger cleanser like Neutrogena? Thanks for the input!
  4. I just HATE looking greasy/shiny and the feeling it gives me. I've gone running for an hour in overcast weather and not gotten burned; so I've just stuck to only going outside if it's overcast. I've been using Cetaphil SPF 50 moisturizer when I have to. Maybe other brands are better?
  5. on my 6th month of accutane. I HATE wearing sunscreen, so i've avoided the issue by not hanging out outside when it's sunny. My graduation is this weekend, and the forecast is "partly cloudy." it should last about 2 hours, around 4-6 pm. Can I get away without getting burned or do I need sunscreen? Thanks!
  6. I'm in the middle of my 6th month. Basically my whole face is clear, but I just got a couple of pimples near my mouth. Is this a sign that I should continue into a 7th month, or is it not unusual to still get a couple of pimples near the end of the course? Thanks! Results have been great.
  7. If you get, for instance, pizza grease on your face, will it break you out?
  8. I took my Accutane pill this morning and then immediately had to take an Advil for a headache i had. Is it ok to take both of these at the same time?
  9. I just realized that I kept my boxes of pills near a sunny window for the past couple of weeks! The box says to "protect from light," so I'm a little worried -- will anything be wrong with my medication?
  10. is it ok to take accutane with milk instead of water?
  11. I'm four and a half months into my Amnesteem course, with only two weeks left to go. Here's how it went: Months 1 and 2: 60mg Months 3 and 4: 40mg Month 5: 60mg I still have several pimples on my forehead and a huge ugly one coming in on my chin. Not what I expected to be happening this late... My derm said I could do a sixth month if need be, but didn't mention anything beyond that. Is there still any hope for me? I'm so demoralized =( Really thought I was going to be all better at this
  12. On my Amnesteem package, it says to "protect from light." I just realized that my box has been sitting by the window for a week now. Is this going to be a problem?
  13. Thanks! Has anyone else had experience with this?
  14. I take 40mg in the morning and 20mg in the evening. If I missed two of my morning 40ls in a row, will it affect my treatment? Or is it only the cumulative dosage that really matters? Thanks! i'm in my fifth month by the way.
  15. Will getting greasy food or dirt or anything else on my face cause my acne to worsen, or am I worrying for no reason? Seriously, I'll be eating pasta and get some pasta oil on my face and start freaking out, and have to go to the bathroom to wash it off immediately.
