Just an update guys, when I said I took antidepressants for two years I guess I wasn't clear in that I was off them for a year, and was doing a lot better than when I was on them or before I was. I don't suffer from depression anymore. I did try accutane shortly after this post I wont say exactly what happened but that it was pretty serious and I had to stop, and even though it was working can't ever take it again. I still have cystic acne at 26 and it sucks, but I'm doing all I can and my face

Your acne is more moderate than severe. Chill. -
Hey Vanz you should listen to FTF he speaks the truth. Just from reading your posts I can tell you just have self esteem issues. Mine are much worse than yours too you got 4 i probably have closer to 40 be thankful for what you have It could easily be worse. Try to learn something from this ordeal maybe not to things at face value, I'm sure most people don't see your scars but they do see your attitude, that matters so much more, hopefully you'll realize this sooner rather than later.

This is the best post I've seen on this site. I've read a fair bit of journals myself but like others saw too much negative and am only now at 24 10yrs of severe acne going on tane, 10mgs for 2wks then 20 for another and I hope to keep it there. If not I'll do 40mgs and then follow with a 5mg maintenance course. Superman knows best people! CUSTOMIZE! EDUCATE YOURSELF!

Why does Accutane make you so tired?
Gregor84CDN replied to Kelli1982's topic in Prescription acne medications
I found a link to a medical journal that positively show changes in brain functioning: 21% reduction of orbiofrontal metabolism changes in dopamine levels and functioning reduction of neurogenesis in the hippocampus All three of these are implicated heavily in mood/emotions http:// ajp.psychiatryonline.org/cgi/content/full/162/5/983#SEC3 ajp.psychiatryonline.org/cgi/content/full/162/5/983#SEC3 This would definitely make you tired/depressed, also the fact that your treating acne with something -
Mine twitch sometimes ... same with my eyelid? weird no?

I'd have to completely agree with you on the hormone thing. Women use birth control and there acne goes away, Men use steroids and they get acne. Well.. you might ask what about accutane....Accutane strips your sabaceous glands of oil, which are controlled by hormones and messages from the brain. It's time the ROOT of the problem was exposed. Accutane doesn't work for everyone and the side effects are truey true and dangerous (for some not all) However there are many whom this doesn't work for.

There is alot of disagreement about whether or not Accutane causes depression or not. I found a link to a medical journal that positively show changes in brain functioning: 21% reduction of orbiofrontal metabolism changes in dopamine levels and functioning reduction of neurogenesis in the hippocampus All three of these are implicated heavily in mood/emotions ajp.psychiatryonline.org/cgi/content/full/162/5/983#SEC3 I have suffered depression over the past five years (I'm 24) Because of this I n
