  1. Low dose is a viable alternative that has demonstrated good results. Great results, minimal side effects. Worth a talk to your derm. I've just finished a low dose regime myself so if you have any questions, feel free to ask.
  2. I'm wrapping up a low dose regime of acutane and I think we need a review section that is specific to this mode of delivery. Standard dose and low dose are really 2 different animals. Thoughts?
  3. I don't use moisturizer at night. I know they strongly recommend it but I have very oily skin and have never have a problem. I've never had a problem with BP getting on my lips at night - that's a new one for me. I do put a bit of cetaphil moisturizer on my lips at night so perhaps that would help? Because I don't have a problem with dry, flaky skin, I'm thinking of introducing a retinoid. Epiduo contains BP as well, so I think it may be good for those who have been on the regime for a wh
  4. I've been on the regime for 8 months now. I'd say my results have been very good, but not perfect. I'm considering trying epiduo (retinoid + 2.5% BP) at night with the regime during the day. Anyone else try this?
  5. Thanks for the advice. I appreciate what you are saying, but I've been experimenting with this for 30 years. I'm done. Derm appointment is on June 14.
  6. BTW, I think we need another category for the message boards - 40 and over. Acne is a different cat once you've reached middle age.
  7. I've been on the regime for about 6 months. I've also use many anti-biotics, both topical and oral, retinoids, changed my diet radically, changed my exercise patterns (I used to run half marathons) I change my pillow case nightly...I could go on and on. Yesterday I developed a painful nodule on my jaw line. I'm a nervous wreck. My derm suggested accutane about a year and a half ago. I put it off, trying just about everything else. It's time. Anyone else in my boat?
  8. Here is a meta-analysis of acne treatments from Dalhousie School of Dermatology (Canadian). Very helpful summary of the state of acne treatment, with deep reseach links. When you get tired of all the conjecture and myths present in some of the online forums, this reads like a breath of fresh air. Hope it helps! http://cpe.pharmacy.dal.ca/Files/Acne_Handout.pdf
  9. I'm looking for a reliable spf lotion and saw this for the first time today. Anyone tried it yet?
  10. I have had good results from almond milk - the no suger variety. sugar. geez....
  11. I would like to purchase a lamp that uses both blue and red lights and has a wrap around feature to hit the sides of the face as well. Any suggestions? Thanks guys!
  12. At the core of the regime is the use of a lot of BP - probably much more than you have used before. Dan's product (2 full pumps) spreads extremely well and will not form a white residue like many cream based products. It also comes in large containers and is far cheaper in the long run.
  13. I use Dan's BP and AHA - love the stuff. The BP goes on like a dream. The AHA soothes and feels great. I use it as a moisturizer. No redness or flakiness at all.
  14. I've been on the rgime for a couple of months now with very good results. How long have you been on? What's been the improvement? Is it sustainable?
