  1. Looks like a possible allergy, honestly. What have you done in terms of diet?
  2. Eek. How yellow is it? Orange could indicate too much beta carotene...yellow could be a sign of jaundice, which could indicate a problem with your liver. Cut down on the vitamins if you're eating a balanced diet....this issue, if its really noticeable, is not a good thing at all.
  3. I thought vitex worked in a way that stimulated one's pituitary gland to produce the natural balance of hormones. I didn't think it had any specific hormonal correlation- I am taking it because I assumed it would "tailor to my individual needs" and correct my own personal imbalances.
  4. but how is your acne? i have started taking 6,400 mg fish oil a day. my acne is ok I definitely see my acne getting better. I mean, taking omega 3 works over the long term, because you are steadily lowering the level of inflammation in your body. I use BP on each of my cheeks, my most problem area. I have not got any forehead or chin acne...which I sometimes do get....so that's a good sign. You need more than what you're taking in fish oil. That's too much, first of all. And is it in capsule fo
  5. Grains are bad for you- that's that. Read the Paleo Solution (the book) which explains the science behind it. Of course, grains are not going to kill you- and they probably won't make much a difference in your acne if you're not "intolerant," but for anybody: grains are damaging and bad for overall health.

  7. So since I realized that you guys were taking flaxseed because of the omega 3 content alone- I understood that ANY omega 3 would really make the difference you were seeing. So since reading this thread, (I already take fish oil daily), but I have been making "omega 3" smoothies daily. I put a good amount of coconut oil, hemp powder, maca powder, chia seeds, etc. I feel a lot better than I usually feel, so I'd recommend it to anyone. I think bumping up omega 3's for anyone living in the Western w
  8. Grow your own food! I beg of you. As many as you can. Because if this system crashes- and you can no longer healthily eat store food (which we shouldn't anyway because being dependent on grocery industry isn't helping us or our environment, or the economies of the small guys), you'd have sometimg to fall back on. And imagine the fun of a small garden!!! Get organic seeds, and stock up.
  9. Thanks for the article. Yeah, a lot of acne.org users and people all over the place really, are noticing the very close connection between bodily imbalances and emotions. It is said even in medicine that our mind and body are incredibly intertwined. I strongly believe that my acne is in part due to my holding onto resentments, stress, anxieties, etc. and not "releasing" it enough. Emotions can be toxins, too. And a lot of other people are having success with treating the psychological root of th
  10. Oh God, I've done so much I've tried everything. I even tried natural progesterone cream which I think might have helped a bit but ended up screwing up my natural balance even more in the long run and when I told my Dr. about it she was like, "whhhattttt? That stuff is for menopausal women!" And I'll be the first to tell you how hard this is butttt- currently I eat Paleo. That means (no unnatural meats, no preservatives, no sugar, no legumes like peanuts, no soy, no wheat or grains, even rice,
  11. Yes- I think I posted on your previous thread, and said it takes a few months the first time you start and it definitely gets worse before it gets better. Keep pullin through. If by the 5th month (I know that's a long time) but if there's NO improvement at that point, I'd say can the regimen, but the chances of that happening are low One thing I would say though, is to only use bp on the affected parts of your face. Don't use it on areas that are usually clear....
  12. To share another success story (that I have to say that you Deja are mostly responsible for, because your post made me reconsider my own food ideologies). I am still neurotic, I think it's going to take some time for me to change that. But yesterday, I had some fish with (gasp) breading on it- covered in a (another gasp) cheese based sauce. And this past weekend, I went to a gelato shop and while I of course refrained from that, I allowed myself 2 dark chocolate organic truffles. Wow- big change
  13. Why do you take all your supplements right before bed like that?
  14. I mean- make sure you get it in pure and organic form though. No processed "weight gaining" or "workout" hemp powders
  15. No they aren't. Not at all. Sorry, but bc and spiro are synthetic. In fact, they can hinder our own body's production of hormones. It screws up our natural rhythm. If you look at it one way, yes, it is chemically/synthetically fixing the hormonal imbalance. But that's not fixing it at all- it's putting a bandaid on the problem instead of figuring why your levels are low to begin with. You can do this diligently and naturally!! Well this is my problem though, I was put on bc pills because I supp
  16. I'd keep going- because I know the way msm is supposed to work is to purify the insides and push everything to the surface. Give it some time
  17. Check out acne face maps. Ancient medicine (Chinese) maps the face and explains which parts of the face correspond with parts of the body. I'm not sure how accurate this is but it's pretty well respected and many acne.org users have found it useful and truthful in terms of their own acne. Look one up online.
  18. Birth control is a synthetic hormone. Basically- pick one- birth control or better skin. It's flawed logic to try to fix something that is really going on inside with an outside remedy, so I wouldn't try to fix the damage bc can do. It's harder to reverse the longer you're on it.
  19. Impedes? Not the word i would use. Slows down digestion and has very low insulin response which is a good thing. Well, yes. Impede is used to mean delay. The insulin factor is a great thing about fats- but like I said, there is a limit, especially with poor digestion during high protein meals.
  20. What kind of crazy freak animal would have both?! I cook beef with coconut sometimes, rarely. Doesn't seem to compliment the taste well, but it goes down alright. Normally I use either Olive Oil or Butter, both work. Melted cheese on bacon = amazing, though it's a similar kind of fat. Eggs and Olive Oil = amazing. You can definitely mix fats, and of course it's good to mix them with vegetables. It helps extract the nutrients from every food you eat and gives them an easier ride to your cells. Mo
  21. I recommend, if your acne is starting to get severe, to start Dan's regimen ASAP. However, it sounds like you did a lot of damage to your body by lifestyle choices that need to be fixed if you ever plan to go off the regimen. You should cut out all grains, sugars and dairy. It's hard, but its worth it. Do this for AT LEAST 6 months. Eat lots of good fruits and veggies. While you're doing this, make sure you're only eating grass fed, organic and hormone free meats and wild fish. Increase your sup
  22. I mean, if you feel like your digestive system is super sensitive, and you abide by the rules of food combining- just don't go overboard with random things in the shake (fats, veggies, fruits, nuts, proteins, etc.) Keep it simple, but I'd say add as many beneficial things as you see possible.......definitely not dangerous at all.
