Fda Says Acne Not Caused By Diet.

I eat meat and vegetables (the unprocessed kind) and eat fruit and nuts sparingly (most because I've lost taste for them). I also put cream in my coffee and tea and will occasionally eat cheeses made from whole fat dairy - but this isn't often.

    Diet Not Helping

I don't eat dairy because I'm vegan. Being vegan (for moral reasons, nothing to do with skin) I'm not too sure what I could eat if I eliminated all gluten aswell. I don't eat a lot, like 2 slices of whole wheat toast a day. But I've eaten bread my entire life which makes it hard to believe I could have suddenly developed an intolerance to it, especially as topical solutions have cleared me before, and after use of them I went for months with clear skin and nothing really happened to trigger the

I agree in some ways. I think that lifestyle (diet, sleep, stress, exercise, what you do with your face, genetics) all play crucial roles in causing acne, probably with diet playing the biggest role. If we all lived as humans were meant to live (paleo diet, barefoot running, lots of sunlight, good sleep) probably no one would have acne. The thing is, it's not practical to live like that anymore. If you make the move to adopt a natural lifestyle, you need a lot of discipline. It's not easy. I cle

Well you seem to be defending topicals and pills not to be into them - especially considering you seem to actively use them. You're right. Diet is not your only option for fighting acne. It is, however, one of your better options. And I'm going to repeat THIS because clearly you missed it the first time around: And it's a funny thing about doctor's and nutritionists - they're people. Even funnier is that whether or not someone has a piece of paper or not, we're all capable of the same ed

Have you ever stopped to consider that the junk you're using is possibly CAUSING your acne? How about considering maybe your particular body may need more than 7 hours of sleep? When are you getting this sleep? Maybe you've cut out foods that you need (red meats, for example, are perfectly healthy) and you're suffering from nutritional deficiencies. Maybe you're not getting enough sunlight. Maybe you're not getting a good amount of exercise. Have you cut out ALL processed food? Have you tried no

Nope! The same results (with less side effects) could be achieved through natural means. As a side note - if you're so into topical crap and pointless pills - why waste your time on a holistic forum that preaches natural approaches and changes in diet/lifestyle?
  8. Except excessive fruit sugars can really do a number on your blood sugar, not to mention can wreak havoc for some people's skin. There's nothing really wrong with eating everything raw (if you can stand it...) and I don't doubt something like this could clear someone up. Will it clear everyone up? Sure won't.

Not using them can do a load of favors to an acne prone person. It can save them time, money and disappointment. A lot of topical treatments are also harsh can actually damage the skin. Benzoyl Peroxide, for example, creates free-radicals in the skin and causes premature aging of the skin if used for long periods of time. You don't need them to clear your skin up - so why bother? Lots of people have cleared up their skin through diet alone and I'm guessing you probably haven't spent much trying

Tell that to the crap load of people who have cleared their skin through diet and overall health. Sure, diet is not the only thing. You need proper sunlight, exercise and sleep as well and if you've got some pre-existing underlying health problems, that may play a role, too. However, diet plays a bigger role than most people either realize or want to admit. Diet affects hormones. For a lot of women, fixing your diet can improve hormones - allowing for clearer skin. I pretty firmly believe that m

    Diet Not Helping

For starters, I'm not sure how long you've been off of the pills, but ceasing such things have very commonly caused breakouts in women (and men for antibiotics) as your body struggles to adjust to the hormonal changes. This is also true of starting any time of hormone regulating pill. Lots of women break out when they start taking BCP and lots break out when getting off of it. Antibiotics are awful. They not only kill the bad bacteria in your body, but the good stuff as well - leaving plenty

Oh there are plenty of connections that have been scientifically proven - it's just that the members of the FDA are too daft to acknowledge them. That, and I'm sure our junk food industry would take a hit if everyone with acne stopped eating garbage. Heck, I can't imagine the hit our entire 'food' industry would take if it ever came out how poisonous grain and sugar really is.
  14. My boyfriend (after I've FINALLY managed to convince him to clean up his eating habits) has developed a consistent pattern of eating similar to intermittent fasting. I think I read somewhere that it's called the warrior method or something. He basically eats once a day, around 6pm and he'll eat a rather large meal. Then, he won't eat again until 6pm the next day. He never had bad skin to begin with, but has lost a significant amount of weight doing this (and yes, he eats enough calories and

    Initial Breakouts And Jojoba Oil

Different things work for different people. Jojoba was like poison for my skin. It always made my skin worse. My advise is to stop focusing on external treatments and start focusing on the root cause of your acne - internal health. Work towards a healthy diet and lifestyle and clear skin often comes naturally without the need of topical treatments.
