  1. This worked within days for my son: it sounds way too easy, but it's a miracle. Put a hot compress on your acne areas 2 to 3 times a day for about 5 minutes each time. We fold a paper towel into the right size and shape and dip it in hot (not painfully hot) water. Ring it out and hold it on your skin, refreshing it in more warm water as needed to keep it warm (we keep a bowel of hot water handy). My son had been on antibiotics for months and tried every ointment, etc. with no luck and the doctor
  2. 15yo, try this -- it worked wonders for my son when nothing else would. Two to three times a day put a hot/warm compress on the acne areas of your face. We used a paper towel, folded into the right size. Dip it in very warm (not painfully hot though) water, wring it out and place it on your skin. Hold it there, refreshing it as it cools to keep it warm (we keep a little bowel of hot water handy), for about 5 minutes. My son had been on antibiotics for month and the doctor was ready to go with A
  3. I don't know about red marks. My son had those oozy, weepy pustules, and it got rid of those. It also works on white heads.
  4. Donyten -- At first we continued to use the Repairing Lotion from the Proactiv system, and sometimes some antibiotic ointment, but after a while nothing else was needed. My younger son has never needed anything but hot compresses. You should see results in a few days, so report back for everyone, will you?
  5. I've only joined this group to post this solution that worked so beautifully on my son. I discovered it after years of taking my son to dermatologists, putting him on antibiotics, etc. I hearing, “Try this for 6 to 8 weeks to see if it’s working.†This treatment works in a few days and is harmless. Apply a hot, wet compress 2 to 3 times a day for about 10 minutes each time. We just fold up a paper towel to the right size, run it under hot water, and hold it over the spots, keeping a tub of
  6. Please try this; it could be the answer for you that it was/is for us. It's harmless. My son is now 21 and years from having any problems, but he has scars from the time before we discovered this simple treatment.
  7. We used a paper towel, folded up several times to create the right size. My thought that was reusing a cloth would spread any germs. The water is very warm, but not painful to touch.
  8. I hope someone will at least try this and report back in a few days.
  9. They were ready to put my son on accutane, and this cleared him right up. He didn't have any "extra large pimples" or any problems at all afterwards. Every time he would get a breakout, he would use the hot compresses and it would go right away. My younger son hasn't had any problems because we knew about this. I don't know about opening your pores, but I'm sure it increases circulation to the area. Really, I think it's harmless. It's especially harmless when you compare it to all the medicin
