  1. Hi guys, I just wanted to make a positive post about my experience with my treatment on Accutane. It has now been three months since I took my last pill, and let me tell you, it is well worth the wait and struggle. My face is getting better every single day and my skin hasn't looked this good since, I don't know when! I just wanted to make a post for anyone who is questioning their treatment (because we all go through it!) Just stick with it, and you too will see positive results! I hope everyon
  2. Hey guys, I apologize is this is the wrong forum to post in, but I couldn't find it anywhere else. I recently ended my treatment of Accutane (with much success!) I have basically done everything I can to get red of the redness (it's about 95% cleared from red marks now) HOWEVER, I am dealing with slight pitting in my face It's not a huge deal, but you know. Your skin clears and you then.. you want the world! Haha Can anyone suggest some great over the counter ideas for smoothing out my face? I
  3. Its comedogenic - It blocks your pores... so might make your skin worse. I used Emu Oil. It doesn't block pores (non-comedogenic) and really really helped with my scarring and is a good moisturiser. :shifty: xxx Bio-oil is actually non-comedogenic. I know it has vitamin A in it and I've heard it's best to steer clear from that while on Accutane, but I use it twice a week on my face and haven't had any issues as of yet. However, I'd ask your derm./doctor just to be safe.
  4. Thanks for the help, I will definitely look into AHA peels.
  5. Hi guys, I am on my last month of treatment and all is well and my acne has almost completely cleared! I am now doing some maintenance to try to take care of the red marks, but unfortunately that doesn't do much for the uneven skin texture. Even with make-up you can see a slight pitted pattern. What products/procedures/etc. do you know of that I can do to take care of this and get back my smooth skin? I've considered microdermabrasion, which I'd have to wait 6 months to do anyway, but I'd prefer
  6. It could be a Roaccutane induced excema break-out (my excema wasn't terribly itchy.) I had the same thing happen to me right under my lip/chin. Best bet is to talk to your doctor/dermatologist next time you see them, they will prescribe you something take care of that lickity-split.
  7. I, too, was experiencing breakouts into my fifth month of treatment and was worried. Now (knock on wood) I haven't had any new breakouts in the past week (I'm in the middle of my fifth month) and I am hoping it continues. I now know some people have said they continue to breakout during the entirety of their course and didn't see much improvement until after their treatment came to an end. I hope this is the case!
  8. Haha yes! I know exactly what you are talking about. My IB's seemed to move from the left side of my face to the right, then would move to my forehead. I'm not sure how any of that works or if everyone experiences it the same way, but it definitely happened to me. At least in this way, it becomes some what predictable.
  9. I have a question pertaining to my treatment and success thus far. I am at the very beginning of my fifth month of treatment and while my skin has cleared up A LOT, I still am managing to have acne pop up. Not a whole lot, but maybe 4 new zits every week. I saw my doctor today and she said it wasn't the best sign if I were still having minor break outs while in so deep on treatment. I still have this last month at 80mg a day, and then it's maintenance for the last month at 20mg a day. I'd like
  10. I know, isn't it a bummer? Within the first month, they seemingly vanished and then in my third month they came back with vengeance. I assume during these last months they should completely disappear, one can only hope. I'd love to hear others experience though.
  11. Favorite products while on Accutane: CeraVe cleanser/lotion, Ph balanced toner, Glycerin rose water, Nivea (A kiss of moisture essential lip care - thanks to whomever suggested this stuff!) Visine moisturizing drops (not for "getting the red out,") Bio-oil, Nasal spray, Shea butter. For your question about oil-based products... Not all "oily" products are necessarily comedogenic. For example, Bio-oil is definitely non-comedogenic, but I realize there are plenty that are. I remember I posted a w
  12. Yes, yes, yes... Fatigue is listed as a side effect of Accutane, and boy do I feel it as well. What works for me is getting as much rest as possible. It is rather hard sometimes with my schedule, but a power nap here and there seems to work and tide me over for a bit.
  13. I am approaching my fourth month in 4 days, and my skin has finally taken a slight reprieve of constant break-outs. My skin is much smoother, but I do have flare ups (2-3 pimples) every now and again, but a definite progression from 4 months back.
