  1. Hi, I am a 25 years old female and I have had acne since my early teens. My acne turned to adult acne about 5 years ago and has shifted to the cheeks, jaw and area around the mouth. I have been on many different kinds of drugs for it and so far nothing has worked and possibly made it worst (ex. long term use of antibiotics and topical). Right now my face is okay....although most people would probably think it's severe.... with about ~15 cystic nodule and LOTS of little blocked pores (whitehe
  2. I am not sure what medication the dermatologist will prescribe me and I think I will listen to his opinion before I decide. But since I have never met this doctor, I don't know if he will be willing to explain everything to me and if he will rush me into taking things. That's why I am trying to learn more about everything so I don't make hasty decisions. I am not a big fan of taking drugs myself that why I stopped the antibiotics in the first place. But I have been doing exactly what y
  3. Thanks everyone for your support, I don't know how I will get through this without this board Not getting whole lot of that from fiance, he is getting annoyed with me complaining about it all the time already but it just hurts and itches too much! It helps to know I am are not the only one, even though I sincerely wish all of us to be acne free! I just can't wait for the appointment! It seems like eternity and I feel like my face is going to explode before then. ARGH still one more w
  4. Thanks everyone for your replies, I guess I just have to wait to talk with the dermatologist. I am not sure if I can afford Accutane though... since each visit will cost me $190, plus all the blood tests i have to get every month and the pill... it will probably will be a lot of money. Axl Rosenberg, you said you ordered it online? Did you still get blood tests and visit the derm every month? Is it safe to take it without being monitored by a doctor?
  5. I had moderate to severe breakouts before this time (mostly moderate), but never this bad. I am not sure what could have caused this... how could it have been fungal? I mean how could I have caught it the first place? My fiance who lives with me in this new apartment is fine (but he always had perfect skin...) I thought it might be due to me stopping the antibiotics, but it wasn't helping me that much in the first place. What would you suggest if it's reaction breakout? And if its fungus !
  6. Hmmm... I am not sure about Accutane because you can only take it for 6 months? Also a lot of people on this forum have mentioned their acne comes back after a year or so? I can definitely live with dry lips and skin as long as i don't have acne... I am just worried about them coming back and other side effect like depression. Anyone experience acne getting worst before it gets better?... that's scary. Since I don't have insurance and as a college student, I don't have a lot of money to spar
  7. Yea it is very painful... but, no, I don't think I have any sickness lately, maybe except allergy when I first moved to my new apartment.... I am pretty sure nothing is green on my face, maybe it is the light? The pus are actually yellowish
  8. Hi everyone, This is my first post and I have been battling acne for about 10 years now. I have tried many treatments including BP, salicylic acid, spot treatments, tea tree oil, 4 kinds of antibiotics... and others that I can't remember at the moment. The antibiotics sort of kept it under control, even though my face was still bad because I got outbreak every time near my period and it takes like 1 week to heal and 4 more weeks (at least) for the red marks to fade even a little bit. Anyway
