  1. I know. This is just a new kind of acne for me so I was wondering how best to treat this kind of inflammation without overtreating it. Should I keep my regimen the same or lessen/alter it?
  2. So I'm in the process of switching antibiotics from Cephalexin to Minocycline (previously to the Cephalexin I was on Doxycycline). I also have a prescription for Tazorac cream and Prascion sulfur cleanser. I also have some BP 2.5% and 10%, tea tree oil, antibiotic ointment, and a 2% salycilic acid exfoliating scrub. Right now I am on 200mg of Minocycline; 100mg in the morning, 100 at night. In the morning I use the salycilic scrub to exfoliate and spot treat with 2.5% BP, and at night I u
  3. Yeah, its right above the cheek. Idk whether to try hydrocortisone or desitin, or whether those would be too harsh. I just want to get rid of some of the redness at least, but I also don't want to further irritate it. BP tends to be a little harsh, I have relatively sensitive skin. Anyone know what would be the best thing to use, and what things to stay away from?
  4. I had a relatively small reddish pimple under my eye for about 1-1.5 weeks. I treated it daily with tea tree oil and then put Neosporin over it at night. On Friday, I made the mistake of trying to pop it, and it didn't really work. It bled for a while, and I iced it to try to close the pores and limit the swelling. Now that the weekend is almost over, it still looks just as angry as it did on Friday afternoon. I've stil been putting tea tree oil and Neosporin on it, but it's not healing, and it
  5. I have this type of acne under the corners of my my mouth as well as along the middle and lower parts of my chin. How does one get rid of these things? It looks like clogged pores, but I'm not sure. I'm currently on Cephalexin (Keflex) 500mg 2x a day, but I've also been on Duricef and some other stuff along the way. None of it ever cleared this part of my acne. Anyone have any ideas?
  6. ill try that out. thanks for the feedback
  7. I've been taking Duricef (as Cefadroxil) (500mg 2x a day in capsule form) for over a year now. I also took Doxycycline before, and it did not do much good. Out of all the prescription meds I've been on, Duricef has been the best by far. I recommend that if he takes more than one dosage a day, to spread it out as evenly as possible across the day (i.e. 9am & 9pm), so as to have an even flow of the drug in his system. Unfortunately, being an antibiotic, one develops immunity to it over time.
  8. I had a relatively small pimple which I attempted to pop, but it kept coming back. At this point it has grown to be quite large, and very red. I'm currently taking 500mg of Cefadroxil (Cefa, Duricef, Ultracef) 2x a day, as prescribed by my dermatologist, and have been for well over a year now. I fear I might've developed an immunity to the antibiotic, but that's another issue. Anyhow here are some pictures I took today. I was wondering whether anyone's had a similar issue, and has recommendati
  9. So far nothing has worked, yesterday I put pressure on my nose in several places, making all of the junk come out of my nose in several places. I washed my nose with gentle soap and cleaned it with rubbing alcohol and moisturized. It appears to have started helping, as the pores aren't as red anymore.
