  1. Yeah, from my understanding 5'8" is the average in most parts of the world. Be proud, there are people who are 4'11" and even shorter. You'll see people who are 6'5" but being tall does have cons. There was a study that we learned in my medical class, how for every 4" above 5 feet in height, increases your chances of cancer by a factor of 15%. It was believed to be linked with growth hormones that contribute and affect tumors. Though this was one particular scientific study and it shouldn't
  2. I'm on my second course of Accutane and the results are just as good, if not better than the first for me. I'm sure others have had success as well.
  3. I've been on it for like 1 month now. Worst side effect (and luckily the only one) is definitely the nosebleeds I experience, other than the dry skin.
  4. I just booked a free consultation in a clinic that specializes in acne. Took me a week to get the next available date... and was put on accutane. She gave me the prescription and blood work paper. I received my accutane pills before doing the blood test, all in the next day. It sucks that some of you have to wait so long!
  5. Wow, it was definitely laid back for me. I already got my Accutane pills before going for my blood work. I did not have to sign any pledges either... (I'm a male, but the pamphlet specifically says ALL patients, haha) It's really easy getting Acctuane in Canada I suppose. I mean, I just entered a clinic... saw the dermatologist and then wala. I didn't have to pay for any consultation fees or anything. God I love the Canadian health care system
  6. I got a prescription for accutane and a blood test. She was really quick and I thought I knew what to do but... Do I go get my bloodtest BEFORE i take accutane? Do I have to fast for 12 hours? lol i cant believe this is happening :/
  7. Please update us on how your 'meeting' went!
  8. I am 20 years old and I have suffered from acne since junior high (grade 7). My acne comes and goes - but ultimately it has left me scarred both physically and emotionally. My social life has evolved around acne, because I've always been ashamed of my skin and I would often decline invitations from my friends simply of the fact that I do not want them to see me with my horrible skin, even though I'm fully aware that they know what I look like already. I'm constantly reminded by family members of
  9. Thank you for this post, sir. I can relate to you 100%. I am 20 years old and I have suffered from acne since junior high (grade 7). 10. Glycolic Acid works really great for hyperpigmentation I've used Kojic acid. It's used for skin whitening, but wow... it helps with my scars!
  11. Hey check out the BRTC Blemish Recovery Balm (BB cream)!
  12. Hello, I am 19y/o, male, half-american half filipino. I had taken accutane for 5 months awhile back and I was free of acne for almost 1-2 years! But unfortunately it came back slowly. I was desperate because I suffered from acne for years beforehand and it was bad. It lowered my self-esteem as well. I didn't have any side effects when I had taken accutane, but considering my acne as of now isn't nearly as bad as it was, I probably won't be able to get accutane from the dermatologist an
  13. Perhaps I shouldn't worry about it, or maybe I should. I'm going to get my H1N1 Vaccine and I'm also taking accutane... is it safe to do so? I know I can't expect to find a definite answer to it but given the fact that accutane does pretty bad side effects to the body - It's appalling to think a controlled virus and a strong drug together (That's just me) I appreciate all the responses! Thank you.
  14. There are other things that contribute to acne. Oily skin is probably one of them - but not the main reason I guess...
