  1. Thanks for the reply Cocobo. Was that the Acne.org moisturizer that you looked into? I went onto the Cetaphil website and found the ingredient list of their moisturizer: http://www.cetaphil.com/Products/MoisturizingCream.aspx The sixth ingredient, Dimethicone, is the one in concern. From wikipedia: Dimethicone "is the most widely used silicon-based organic polymer" and "is one of several types of silicone oil".
  2. I got a job in a car paint shop and they ban you from wearing any silicone based products, as they can cause a bad reaction with the paint. They had examples of banned products, and I noticed that Cetaphil Moisturizer was on the list. Does the Acne.org moisturizer contain any silicone based ingredients?
  3. Before using the regimen, I just solely used BP for a while and it made my face really dry. I wasn't using any type of moisturizer back then, and it definitely helps a lot. Make sure you're applying that both in the night and morning (if you already are then ignore this post ).
  4. I'm currently a junior in college, I've had acne since the 6th grade. Now that I'm in college, I was so sick of STILL having acne. I remember one time being at a party and having a drunk kid come up to me and say "dude it looks like you have herpes on your face". That pretty much killed the night. Now that it's the summer time I decided that my goal is to clear up before the fall semester, which is about 3 months from now. I have been seeing very good results so far. I'm hoping that it will con
  5. I've had this cyst near my nose, this is probably the 3rd or 4th time that it's appeared. Every time it appears it lasts for 2+ weeks and it HURTS. It just appears as an inflamed red spot, but no head ever surfaces (see photo attached). I'm in college so I can't afford to see a dermatologist. Anyone have any suggestions how to make it go away faster and prevent it from coming back?
  6. I definitely take jokes about my acne way too seriously and let them ruin that night. I remember one night my friend pretended to draw on my face with a marker. Me thinking that he actually just drew on my face asked him "is there anything on my face??" and he goes to me "nah, nothing but your acne". That comment totally ruined my night even though he probably didn't mean for it to hurt me like it did.
  7. It's starting to get that way haha, when you open up the bathroom cabinet there's BP, differin, other topicals, and other random stuff. I even tried honey with cinnamon one time and that's still in there.
  8. I hear you, I've had bacne for a few years now and won't even go swimming because it has gotten so bad and it'd be embarrassing for others to see. I'm going to try H&S and I also heard that vinegar works well too. There's a long thread in this section about vinegar as a remedy.
  9. I used Differin by itself for about four months for my face. I experienced dry skin while on it, especially directly left and right of my nose (above my mouth). I'd have to go into the bathroom throughout the day while at school to splash some water on my face so my skin didn't look flaky. Overall, it kept my acne under control but did not completely fix it. I experienced fewer breakouts, and the breakouts were less severe. But, it never completely stopped them all the way and I eventually gave
  10. Don't let acne get in the way of your social life. If you are friendly to others they will want to hang out with you. Despite what you may think, there are plenty of people with acne who are "popular". Next time when you're hanging out with your friends, throw out your idea of being "the tag-a-long" and just be confident. I know this may sound cheesy, but If you believe that you are ugly than you will be ugly. If you think of yourself as one of the "hot guys at school" than you'll be one. Tryin
  11. When I go away on a vacation and I eat mcdonalds or other fast foods and I don't wash my face that night I notice that I always break out within the next few days.
  12. A little off topic but... does anyone here hate the commercials like i do? When I'm with my friends and they come on it just makes me feel awkward...
  13. I visited a dermatologist and they prescribed me to a bunch of different medications, and it's a bit overwhelming. I don't want any lasting side effects, but I want to rid myself of this acne. What do you guys think about this regimen? Doxycyclin Pill (100 mg) - AM + PM PanOxyl Benzoyl Peroxide 10% Bar - AM Differin Gel (Pea Sized amount) - PM Mon, Wed, Fri - Benprox Benzoyl Peroxide 5.25% Wash - AM + PM Sun, Tues, Thurs, Sat - Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser - AM + PM Is it just me or does tha
  14. Lyssa, I wouldn't get mad about how others feel on this topic. You provided them with the resources and if they want to use it they can, and if not than oh well, it just matters how you feel.
  15. Hello All, I never really got a formal introduction so I thought I'd just introduce myself right now. I'm 17 and going to be a senior in high school, and have had acne since 7th grade. It started with facial acne up until 9th grade, the first pimple appeared on my back. Even with just 2 or 3 pimples on my back, I felt so embarrassed back then when I had my shirt off. Well, as the year went on the 2 to 3 pimples on my back spread to 4 or 5 and then 8 or 9, and before I knew it my back was covere
